Accountable for the accurate and timely processing of financial information in line with the Trust’s systems and keeping records in good order. Role responsibilities 

• Process payments and maintain purchase ledger - process expenses, invoices and other payments in XLedger for payment in a timely and accurate manner and reviews supplier statements and outstanding items regularly and efficiently.

• Compliance and internal controls - Ensure relevant authorisations are obtained, and safeguards and protocols are followed about data protection, internal financial controls, and ethical standards. 

• Act as the first point contact for purchasing queries - primary management of the shared finance email inbox; Acting as the first point of contact for external and internal questions. Ensures high levels of customer service and effective representation of the Finance Team and the Trust. 

• Organisation - Maintain paperwork in an orderly manner: current/prior year records to remain accessible yet secure, older items archived and destroyed when appropriate. Ensuring proper records are maintained in the financial system.

• Finance Team assistance - Support finance team colleagues in providing information to other parties as appropriate, e.g.: as budget holding colleagues, fundraising colleagues, or external auditors. 

Person Specification 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge: 

• Relevant bookkeeping qualification (e.g., AAT) or QBE 

• Experience in a similar role, ideally working with large transactional volumes. 

• Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the implications of accurate record keeping.

Impact and Insights Officer

We are looking for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. You will be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support youth zones in evidencing the impact created with young people.

This is a brand new, unique role to be an impact catalyst across both Carlisle and Barnet youth zones, generating support and building towards a ‘culture of impact’ in both organisations such that outcome measurement and impact reporting becomes routine and ‘every day’.

Position: Impact and Insights Officer

Location: Home-working combined with a minimum of 8 days per month across both Barnet and Carlisle youth zones (travel expenses will be covered as part of the package)

About the Role

You will lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes, driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team, strengthening the ability of both youth zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered. 

You will also be responsible for measuring and demonstrating both charities’ impact to stakeholders; authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required), annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports. Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.

You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the youth zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position both youth zones for new income generation opportunities.

About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Innovation of the Peer Support Service.

• Develop and rollout peer support and community strategy and operational plan. 

• Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact tools for timely and accurate reporting of activity and engagement.

Essential requirements include:

The role holder will create effective communications and engagement to support the charity’s work. You will drive positive two-way engagement through our digital channels. Your work will support organisational priorities, driving reach, community engagement and donations.

Key responsibilities include:

Communication and campaign creation

• Drafting digital communication and engagement plans to deliver results. 
• Crafting exciting, creative, energetic, simple communications which drive action.
• Working to support colleagues and audiences. Working with stakeholders to ensure communications are planned and delivered at the right time to meet their needs.

Using results to drive change

• Using insight to inform new plans.

Copy creation 

• Using your strong written and verbal skills to curate and manage high-quality, consistent content across all our delivery platforms: social, Live Well Hub, web, email and PR.

Social media

• Leading on building our impact and engagement on social media with our audiences, in line with our objectives, including supporting engagement campaigns and fundraising. 
• Ensuring that we are using the best tools and techniques by staying up-to-date with trends.
• Monitoring social media, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to enquiries. 
• Using analytics to constantly optimise our social media impact. 

Email

• Developing content for email marketing, including for fundraising and events campaigns.
• Optimising email by A/B testing content to maximise performance through design and content improvements and creating triggered email sequences to build our message. 
• Using audience segmentation and personalisation to support campaigns.
• Using analytics to identify ways to constantly optimise our email impact. 

Website content plus content SEO

• Overseeing content development for the website and checking existing content so our website is kept up-to-date, engaging, and on brand.
• Ensuring web content is optimised for SEO and usability, training staff on best practice.
• Leading team efforts to enhance the website as an engagement tool. 
• Using analytics to identify potential content changes.

Engagement

• Acting as the digital community lead for engagement of our online communities on social media and the Live Well Hub, including guiding team members to follow best practice.  
• Supporting online events and driving positive engagement opportunities.
• Responding proactively and appropriately to online messages and comments.
• Engaging and participating in online community groups and discussions beyond our channels.

Brand communication

• Ensuring all activity aligns with brand priorities.
• Championing on-brand messaging. Acting as a trusted expert on brand tone of voice. 
• Ensuring all media and communications guidelines/policies are followed and kept updated. 
• Sharing best practice with the wider organisation and continuing professional development. 

Creative skills

• Generating and developing creative and innovative ideas with a good eye for brand, design, film and photography.
• Creating engaging collateral through software such as Canva, Photoshop or Indesign.
• Editing small amounts of audio or video (desirable).

Essential skills:

• High energy, with the ability to work at a fast pace, with a proactive, creative and flexible approach.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively and autonomously from home while working collaboratively and building relationships as part of a tight-knit team. 
• A keen eye for detail with a consistently high quality of work output.

• Demonstrable experience in developing, leading and executing high-quality, effective communications and engagement strategies that achieve desired results.

The Role

The PR Manager plays a central role, working closely with the Head of Media to manage the public relations function of the charity. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute prominent and high impact national and regional media campaigns, to help people better understand the mission and take action to support it.

Your main duties and responsibilities include:

· Generate regular, positive, proactive media coverage

· Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries

· Work with the Head of Media to develop impactful press strategies in line with the wider PR strategy

· Take a proactive approach to gathering NHS staff, member and supporter case studies

· Identify and develop high quality media pitches, spotting slots and opportunities and piggybacking on the news agenda where appropriate

· Build positive working relationships with target journalists

· Monitor and evaluate media coverage and PR activity, sharing coverage with key internal and external stakeholders

About You

No one should feel alone when diagnosed with primary bone cancer. The Bone Cancer Research Trust strives to provide a supportive network for all primary bone cancer patients to limit their feelings of isolation and anxiety. Given the rarity of the disease, patients can often go through their entire treatment and recovery without meeting another patient, so external support is vital.

Over the last 4 years, our Support & Information Service has seen significant growth, and developed to become a leading source of support for patients, family members, siblings and friends of patients.  Our Support & Information team provide enduring support and ensure that this can be accessed at any point in a primary bone cancer journey and by anyone affected.

Our aim is to increase the reach of the service further, ensuring that all patients diagnosed in the UK have the opportunity to access our Support & Information Service.  The Support & Information Officer will play a pivatol role in achieving this through building lasting relationships with both patients and families and healthcare professionals.

They will assist in all aspects of the Bone Cancer Research Trust's Support & Information Service, including the organisation and delivery of  virtual support groups, the administration of the Charity's financial grants, the distribution of information resources and the administration of our digital groups. They will also have the opportunity to lead on the delivery of our regional in-person ‘Get-Togethers’, which bring the primary bone cancer community together to gain peer to peer support.The successful candidate will also play an important role in the continuous development of the Service, ensuring that impact is measured and feedback is acted upon.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of those affected by primary bone cancer, offering support at time of great uncertainty.

The primary purpose of this role is to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive continuum of care, supporting young people in our local community who have had a more challenging start in life.
