About the role:
This is an opportunity to bring your big ideas and ambition to life, taking our Individual Giving and Legacy Marketing to the next level. Identified in our newly launched fundraising strategy as growth areas, this role will build on the successes of the past and push the boundaries of what’s possible – with full support from the fundraising and leadership teams.

Alongside this, you will lead on developing an acquisition programme, tripling the number of active supporters over five years. Brain Tumour Research is seeking an experienced and motivated Community Development Manager to join our team and lead the West team of Community Fundraisers to reach ambitious goals and grow our presence with our West region.
Position: Community Development Manager (West)
Location: Home-based, within our West region which includes South West England, West Midlands, Wales, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Hampshire, Berkshire, Dorset and Oxfordshire.
Salary: Circa £43K per annum

About the Role
Brain Tumour Research is a growing charity with a diverse range of exciting and fast-paced campaigns and activities. Our Community Fundraisers are at the heart of everything we do, and responsible for income generated through Regional Workplace Fundraising, Challenge Events, Fundraise your Way (including schools, individuals and community groups), Fundraising Groups and our flagship campaigns which are Walk of Hope and Wear A Hat Day.
The Community Development Manager will lead of team of Community Fundraisers across the West of England and Wales, stewarding supporters to generate and grow income in order to achieve a regional team target of approximately £1 million. You will work within an innovative and supportive fundraising team, who are passionate about our cause as well as cross-functionally with teams such as PR and Comms, and the Research, Policy and Fundraising departments.

Brain Tumour Research is an exciting, innovative and ambitious charity. You will play a crucial role in helping the charity meet its strategic plans and objectives, which include campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Role purpose

1. Main Responsibilities

2. Major Donors
2.1 Growing the scale of donations – both the number of donors and the value of donations by managing an impactful major donor programme for the Trust
2.2 Use the Trust’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage and grow a pipeline of prospects including high value donors, major donors and potential legators
2.3 Develop and manage a portfolio of high value donors and prospects to include working closely with appropriate colleagues on research, cultivation, ask and stewardship, including planning and delivery of inspiring events
2.4 Work with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Trustees to appropriately involve them in planning and managing relationships with major donors
2.5 Develop a stewardship programme, developing meaningful relationships with donors and potential donors, involving them in our work and ensure they feel valued and part of the Trust.
2.6 Manage the Patrons Circle, providing a fantastic experience for WWT Patrons, including delivering engaging events and maintaining regular communication
2.7 Ensure appeal donors receive relevant stewardship communications, including holding specific events and activities
3. Legacies
3.1 Support the development of the Trust's legacy strategy, leading to an increase in number of pledges and value pledged
3.2 Identify and recruit new legacy pledgers including but not exclusively from WWT members and supporters, ensuring a legacy pipeline
3.3 Steward known legacy pledgers to maximize and retain their loyalty to WWT and to maximize their lifetime giving, including their support for current appeals.
3.4 Ensure ongoing engagement with all legators and enquirers by upgrading and conversion through the legacy cycle: enquirer, considerer, intender, pledger
3.5 Create and run a series of events to engage potential and existing legators and legacy professionals
3.6 Liaise with departments across the Trust in relation to legacy campaigns
3.7 Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective communication about legacy giving with members, supporters and pledgers/legators
3.8 Use the CRM’s legacy module to manage relationships with pledgers and legators
4. General Fundraising
4.1 Support the Trust's new Project Oversights Board, ensuring projects align with the strategy, are fully developed, and help secure appropriate funding
4.2 Input into funding bids
4.3 Support Trust fundraising appeals
4.5 Work closely with the marketing team to update and improve third party fundraising materials, online material and guidance to enable supporters to fundraise for us independently
4.6 Ensure that the Trust is up to date and compliant with legislation, regulators and GDPR requirements in relation to fundraising
4.7 Stay up to date with current best practice in fundraising techniques and track any upcoming trends
4.8 Work with the Membership Services Manager and Membership Development Officer to ensure data is recorded on the CRM accurately and effectively to enable required analysis, tracking, reporting, segmentation and future targeting
5. General Responsibilities
5.1 Promote the work, mission and vision of the Trust at all times.
5.2 Work across teams to develop and implement activity plans across the 2030 strategy business plan.
5.3 Use every opportunity commensurate with other duties to contribute to the Trust’s membership recruitment, fundraising and engagement of people.
5.4 Ensure a high level of customer service in all dealings with the public.
5.5 Ensure continuous development of skills and knowledge required for the post, undergoing training and performance review as required by the Trust.

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will manage a high-performing team of four staff: Database & Donor Manager, Communications & Engagement Manager. We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Honeypot Children’s Charity who are looking for a Corporate and Community Fundraising Executive responsible for maximising fundraising income from a pipeline of existing, and new, corporate partners and community groups.
With headquarters in London, and three respite houses situated in the South of England, Wales and Scotland, Honeypot supports young carers aged 5 to 12 years old, who perform a surrogate adult role as a carer for a loved one, often single-handedly, and whose wellbeing is at significant risk, leading to anxiety, isolation, poor confidence, and low self-esteem.
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for growing support from businesses (currently 30 small corporates) plus local groups. You’ll manage existing partners and build new relationships to hit a £150K annual target.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience in Fundraising
- Demonstrate strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to deliver persuasive and dynamic presentations.
- Be analytical in approach to tracking performance and impact.
- Bring a creative approach, to create persuasive employee engagement and CSR campaigns, and exciting community events and fundraising campaigns that inspire support.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new member of staff to join Transport for All and support the delivery of our vision: Transport Justice for All Disabled People.
This role will lead on securing income from trusts and foundations for our projects and programmes. You will help to ensure that Transport for All remains financially sustainable, and can grow to meet the needs of our community. You’ll also drive cross-organisational use of the CRM database.
Importantly, you’ll understand how to communicate about a Disabled People’s Organisation without our community being stereotyped as ‘inspirational’ or ‘vulnerable’ – taking a social model approach and aligning with our organisational values.
We’re looking for someone with experience of broad-base fundraising, significant success in trusts and foundations fundraising, and skills and experience in databases.

Your responsibilities
1. Fundraising strategy (10% of time)
· Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to set and deliver the fundraising strategy.
· Work across teams to identify opportunities to create projects and seek funding.
· Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
· Report regularly to the Finance Committee and Board.
2. Trust and foundations fundraising (60% of time)
· Work with the Senior Leadership Team to identify projects and core costs for funding and develop realistic budgets.
· Craft compelling applications to secure funding.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key funders.
· Work across teams to ensure continuation funding for existing projects and costs where needed.
· Manage grants from existing trusts and foundations, ensuring grant requirements are met, and reports are on time, accessible and demonstrate impact.
· Manage the trusts and foundations pipeline, keeping up to date records at all times.
3. Database management (20% of time)
· Ensure the CRM supports funding monitoring purposes and staff can use it for this purpose.
· Continually champion and develop the CRM so that it is accessible to all staff and meets the requirements of all teams.
· Work with the Communications and Engagement team to put in place good stewardship of members, advice service users and other contacts via the CRM.
· Put in place supporter journeys that provide excellent stewardship.
4. Wider fundraising (10% of time)
· Explore, test and evaluate wider fundraising opportunities. This could include appeals, corporate fundraising, events, individual giving and legacy giving.
· Support the Training, Research and Consultancy team with bid and proposal writing on an ad hoc basis.
5. General (at all times)
· Undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are in line with the general level of this post and as instructed.
· Undertake occasional evening and weekend work as required, and take responsibility for arranging time off in lieu with your manager.
· Line manage and supervise members, contractors and staff as required.
· Work within the Social Model of Disability.
· Work in adherence to Transport for All’s values and staff policies.
· Maintain confidentiality.
· Attend staff meetings as needed.
Skills
We’re looking for someone who:
· Has experience of fundraising, particularly from trusts and foundations, preferably including significant, multi-year grants
· Has strong research skills and enjoys identifying funders and their priorities
· Can construct realistic budgets and work with colleagues to craft project proposals
· Has a track record of securing funds for social justice causes
· Has excellent persuasive, value-based communication skills, both written and verbal
· Understands data protection and fundraising compliance and good practice
· Understands the potential for a good CRM to add value, and is confident about helping other team members to use a database to help their work
· Can manage a mixed workload with conflicting priorities
· Has strong organisational and time management skills
· Has a commitment to and understanding of the social model of disability, and disability justice

As our Marketing Manager - Mass Fundraising Acquisition (Legacy), you’ll be responsible for leading an in-house team of marketers responsible for driving mass, new customer acquisition across a portfolio of fundraising products/activities. This includes our integrated mass marketing campaigns, Legacy lead generation acquisition and specific Legacy conversion activity, via promoting our Free Will Service.
Working with our media agency and third-party agency suppliers, you'll be responsible for the development, execution, and optimisation of multi-million pound, omni-channel marketing, and fundraising campaigns and marcomms within the overall British Heart Foundation (BHF) integrated media plan. You'll have oversight across a portfolio of fundraising activity, ensuring strategic and tactical delivery and optimisation, to deliver transformative customer experiences and drive growth in support and income through mass customer acquisition.
In this role, you'll put the customer at the heart, ensuring they feel central to our work and achievements and motivated to continue funding our research in the long-term.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you'll bring extensive and demonstrable marketing experience of designing, developing, and managing integrated, multi-channel marketing plans and delivering successful commercial outcomes through these i.e., across new customer acquisition and fundraising/income growth.
Preferably with knowledge of Legacy Marketing, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of success in a fast-moving, effective marketing team, experience in paid media planning, and optimisation within, and across a full range of ATL channels.
Highly numerate, with excellent planning and project management skills, you'll have evidenced experience of marketing including a full understanding of different marketing approaches and an ability to use marketing to secure support across a broad range of channels.
To be successful in the role you will also have:
- Strong analytical skills, able to manipulate and analyse data across a variety of media to optimise integration performance and engagement
- Experience of managing significant expenditure budgets, interpreting financial information and providing reporting and analysis, as well as risk identification and risk mitigation against financial and non-financial objectives
- Previous leadership and line management experience
- Experience of agency partnership management
- Knowledge and experience of fundraising or relationship databases is highly desirable
Working arrangements
This is a fixed term contract until Dec 2025 covering a secondment.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office, approximately 1-2 days per week

The Role:
You will be the backbone of the philanthropy team, ensuring the smooth running of administrative tasks and providing vital support in managing donor relationships. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to handle confidential information will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Philanthropy team.
- Coordinate meetings for key groups, including arranging logistics, communicating invitations, and distributing papers and minutes.
