Fundraising Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and talented fundraising team
We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Officer to join our small and friendly fundraising team. You will support the High Value Partnerships Manager and Community & Events Fundraising Manager, both of which are already well-established income streams with lots of great potential. It’s a great opportunity to work across varied income streams including Corporate, Trusts & Grants, Community, Fundraising Events and Individual/Regular Giving.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week (negotiable for the right candidate)
Flexibility: We are a flexible employer and most of our staff are juggling things (including caring for multiples!) We are great at making jobs work around life.
Salary: £24,000 - £27,000
Reports to: High Value Partnerships Manager
Work location: Hybrid/remote. Office space in London Bridge, although entirely remote option is fine. Travel to partner meetings/events will also be required.

Purpose of the role
- Reporting to the High Value Partnerships Manager you will provide support across our two priority Fundraising streams – Community Fundraising (Community, Events and Individual/Regular Giving) and High Value Partnerships (Trusts, Grants, Corporate and Sponsorship).
- Conducting prospect research (Corporate and Trusts/Grants) creating a pipeline of targeted opportunities, and submitting applications for lower level funding
- Providing excellent relationship management to those in our community who fundraise for us, whether that’s as a Regular Giver or Marathon runner
- Providing support to the Manager planning Fundraising Events, recruiting participants, attending and cheering on our fundraisers and thanking our supporters
- Accountable for delivering our annual raffle and ongoing Lottery programme
- Support the wider Development team with admin relating to Fundraising
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience either in supporting the delivery of High Value partnerships or Community Fundraising. They will be able to demonstrate how they have researched partnerships and/or submitted funding applications, providing excellent stewardship and creating meaningful partnerships that lead to long term support for the charity.

We operate a hybrid model of work i.e. a combination of in-person and remote, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. We would typically expect in-office attendance an average of one day per week.

Purpose of the Role: As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable income growth through high-impact, strategic and philanthropic partnerships with trusts, foundations and corporate partners.
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Income Development, you will lead the stewardship and growth of existing strategic partnerships, including managing a select portfolio of funders. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Role

About Sebby’s Corner
Sebby’s Corner is a Barnet-based charity supporting vulnerable families and children living in poverty across London and the South East. We support thousands of families every year with clothing, nappies, formula, school uniforms, birthday gifts and more. In 2024–25, we supported almost 4,000 children and over 2,300 parents, distributing £482,993 worth of essentials.
Sebby’s Corner serves families in crisis, many of whom are experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, seeking asylum, or living in poverty. Referrals are made by frontline professionals including social workers, midwives, health visitors, and family support workers so we can ensure we are reaching the most vulnerable.
We believe by meeting immediate material needs, we can help stabilise families, reduce stress, and improve the wellbeing of both parents and children. About the Role
We are looking for a confident and strategic fundraiser with proven experience in major donor and corporate fundraising. You will lead our income generation, helping us to raise over £400,000 every year, with a focus on building high-value, long-term partnerships with individuals and companies. You will also oversee community fundraising, events and supporter engagement, ensuring every donor feels valued and connected to our mission.

MAJOR DONORS

What We Offer
Salary & Pension
The salary range for this role is £42,000 - £48,000 FTE per annum (gross), dependent on experience and pro-rated if you work part-time. If eligible to join the pension scheme, we will match your contributions by 5%.
Annual Leave
You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles). We usually close between Christmas and New Year without this time coming off your annual leave allowance.

This strategic role oversees all public income streams, including: individual giving, legacies, events, and innovation, while leading a high-performing team and sector-leading Supporter Care function.

As part of our Extended Leadership Team, you’ll influence board-level decisions and help ensure Make-A-Wish UK continues granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Core Purpose:
The Head of Public Fundraising is a pivotal strategic leadership role at Make-A-Wish UK, responsible for the strategic direction, planning, delivery, long-term growth and performance of all public fundraising and supporter engagement activity.
This includes strategic oversight of all public income streams - individual giving (cash, regular giving, lottery, payroll), legacies, in-memory giving, challenge events, community fundraising, owned products, and innovation—as well as operational leadership of the Supporter Care team, which manages supporter care, income processing, data imports, and inbound queries for the whole organisation.
The role leads a multi-disciplinary team of around 20, across four core public fundraising and engagement functions, who are responsible for delivery of a high-performing public fundraising programme and sector-leading supporter care function - acquiring, engaging, and retaining supporters at scale, growing income sustainably and ensuring every interaction reflects Make-A-Wish’s values and drives long-term income growth.
This role contributes to over 50% of the charity’s total fundraised income, plays a critical role in long-term sustainability, and operates at cross-organisationally to embed a supporter-first culture, championing segmentation, stewardship and integrated journeys that drive lifetime value. Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in public fundraising, with a strong track record of income growth across a broad portfolio of income streams (e.g. individual giving, legacies, community, events, innovation, lottery).

The Role

About You
You’ll be a skilled and motivated fundraiser with a solid understanding of the Scottish and wider UK funding landscape.
You’ll have:
- A proven track record of securing income from trusts, foundations, corporates and/or statutory sources
- Strong bid-writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex programme work into persuasive proposals
- Excellent relationship management and stewardship abilities
- The capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ideally, you will also bring:
- Experience of strategic, high-value fundraising in a small or growing charity
- An understanding of issues affecting young people and youth-focused sectors
- Experience using design tools (e.g. Canva) to create professional proposals and reports
- Knowledge of international funding sources such as the US and Europe

Through the services we provide at our day centre, via outreach and remotely, our multidisciplinary team of over 60 staff support thousands of young people experiencing homelessness in London to find safety, improve their wellbeing, develop skills for life and ultimately find somewhere that they can call home."

About the role
The Head of Fundraising and Development role is pivotal within the New Horizon Leadership Team, responsible for driving forward fundraising efforts and managing a small, dedicated team. This role involves developing and delivering a sustainable income strategy, ensuring high-quality stewardship for our donors, and contributing to the overall success of New Horizon Youth Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a sustainable income strategy across all fundraising streams. Collaborate with the Operations Director and Heads of Services to create compelling funding proposals.
- Income Generation: Achieve annual income targets and build a pipeline for future sustainable income. Oversee the submission of high-quality funding applications and manage fundraising activities with corporates, individuals, and events.
- Stewardship and Relationship Management: Provide excellent stewardship to donors, manage key fundraising relationships, and ensure effective fundraising systems and processes.
- Team Leadership: Support and lead the fundraising team, providing clear objectives, supervision, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
- General Duties: Uphold the values of New Horizon Youth Centre, follow organisational policies and procedures, and contribute to the Leadership Team's success.
About you
You will be passionate about the work and mission of New Horizon, and combine this with some previous experience of fundraising across multiple income streams. You will bring:
- Proven experience in meeting financial targets within a fundraising or sales environment, ideally across multiple disciplines.
- Successful track record in building relationships with foundations, corporate partners, and high net worth individuals, securing six-figure gifts.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex arguments effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a fundraising team and volunteers.
- Passionate commitment to our mission and values.
