Job description

The Talent Set are delighted to be working exclusively with a fantastic charity to recruit an Interim Stories Manager for a 2-month part time contract.

This key role will focus on coordinating, curating, and managing powerful stories that demonstrate the charity’s impact. Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications, and marketing, you’ll ensure these stories are shared ethically, effectively, and in line with charity’s values and safeguarding policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with teams across the organisation to identify and gather stories that bring the charity’s work to life, ensuring informed consent and compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Maintain and enhance the charity’s structured, searchable digital stories library, ensuring stories are well-edited, tagged, and organised for clarity, tone, and impact.
  • Partner with fundraising, comms, and marketing teams to provide compelling, story-led content for campaigns, proposals, PR, and social media.
  • Conduct quality control and archiving to ensure all stories reflect the charity’s brand tone, are up to date, and ready for use across channels.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in storytelling, content management, or communications within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, consent processes, and safeguarding in relation to story gathering and media use.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for tone, structure, and emotional resonance.
  • Experience managing digital content systems or story libraries (e.g. Montala or similar).
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about amplifying authentic voices and experiences.

What’s on Offer

  • Contract: 2-month temporary position
  • Salary: Between - £177.78 per day-  (£158.10 base pay + £19.68 including holiday pay) and £200 per day (£177.87 base + £22.13 including holiday) via PAYE

  • Working pattern: 3 days per week
  • Location: Remote
