The Role:

Emmaus Bristol is a local charity, working to help people out of homelessness. The work we do here changes lives.

This is a new role for Emmaus Bristol. Through our five-year-planning process we identified a new staffing
structure that will allow our charity to thrive and to grow. The Head of Resources is needed so that the core organisation runs smoothly, and policies, processes and systems allow the team to do their jobs efficiently and effectively. This will be crucial as we develop new streams of work, and help more people out of homelessness or into work.

The Head of Resources therefore, will have a key role to play in making Emmaus Bristol an effective charity.

The Role

Sitting within the High Value Engagement Team – comprising Trusts and Statutory, Philanthropy, Bids and Tenders, and Corporate Partnerships – the Trusts and Philanthropy Officer will build relationships with loyal and prospective donors, raising vital funds to power the Association’s work to support more people affected by stroke.

· Managing the Small Trust Mailing programme (raising c.£80k/year).

Impact and Insights Officer

We are looking for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. You will be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support youth zones in evidencing the impact created with young people.

This is a brand new, unique role to be an impact catalyst across both Carlisle and Barnet youth zones, generating support and building towards a ‘culture of impact’ in both organisations such that outcome measurement and impact reporting becomes routine and ‘every day’.

About the Role

You will lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes, driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team, strengthening the ability of both youth zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered. 

You will also be responsible for measuring and demonstrating both charities’ impact to stakeholders; authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required), annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports. Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.

You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the youth zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position both youth zones for new income generation opportunities.

Managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors; supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation with relationship management of major donors as well as developing and researching opportunities for business development with regional partners and stakeholders. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

• Support the Partnerships team and wider organisation to grow Volunteering Matters locally. 
• Manage a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, including leading on small trust applications & reports.
• Support the Partnerships Team with the management of major trusts, foundations, and donors.
• Play a key role in the upkeep of our library of information. 
• Stay updated on local opportunities and feed into place-based plan. 
• Develop and research opportunities for business development with partners and stakeholders including scoping opportunities and attending market engagement events. 
• Play a key role in the Partnerships Team, helping to collaborate with the wider directorate and organisation to create locally informed and systematic approaches to income generation. 
• Maintaining and actioning enquiries/information into team inbox 
• Support colleagues who are leading with events management for donor/patron & community fundraising events. 
• Supporting the Partnerships team and wider organisation to coordinate information required for reports to funders/partners. 
• Maintain database (Raisers Edge) with key reporting information.

• A pragmatism in understanding and working with the communities served by Volunteering Matters projects, and their respective local and third sector services. 
• An ability to support influencing of local and national stakeholders, by utilising the power of storytelling and advocating for the importance of local voice, when lobbying for social change. 
• Demonstrable awareness of the Third Sector and where relevant devolved responsibilities across the UK.
• Demonstrable experience in using the power of storytelling within the context of stakeholder engagement and / or business development.

• A capability to manage and engage relationships, including project reporting. 
• Evidence of good administrative and IT skills and the ability to maintain a fundraising CRM, administrative and financial records.

As Head of Marketing and Strategy you will lead the marketing team to produce robustly-planned, insight-driven, effective marketing campaigns servicing the needs of the organisation. You will be responsible for the brand and marketing strategy and making sure we’re achieving against our goals for the coming years.

Location: Here East or another Scope office with flexibility to work from the office and from home. 

The role 

This role will be working on rolling out our new brand identity alongside the Head of Creative and Brand as well as delivering on a brand and marketing strategy and roadmap towards a large-scale brand campaign in plan.

You will dedicate yourself to making progress on established plans for the year and stay focused on achieving key milestones.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

• Demonstrable experience in a similar level Marketing role taking responsibility for a team.
• Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating brand and marketing strategies, operational plans and delivering campaigns which have created shifts in the awareness, engagement and income generating capacity of an organisation.  
• Strong leadership of a large team, leading by example and building trusted and positive working relationships with Directors, Heads and teams across Scope.   
• Experience with prioritising marketing activity by audience needs and making sure all activity is impact-driven and associates with our organisational strategy goals for the year.
• Knowledge and ability to join up many cross-organisational enabler projects across data, digital, fundraising and supporter journeys to help us reach our marketing goals.

About you

You don’t need to have worked in a charity but the ability to demonstrate quick learning about specialist marketing areas through previous work experience will be vital for this role.

You will be:

• An experienced marketing leader ready to jump into action at a really important time for Scope. 
• Confident to be the subject matter expert, to influence stakeholders and to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues.

Key responsibilities 

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director is responsible for shaping and driving the work of the organisation, in line with its mission, vision, and strategic plan. 

The Executive Director has responsibility for the effective management and financial sustainability of the organisation; for leading the team and developing HRI’s strategic vision and operational plans; for representing the organisation to external stakeholders and the media; and for championing an inclusive and collaborative culture that foregrounds racial justice and diversity. The Executive Director must also fulfil all the legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial obligations of the role. 

The Executive Director’s key responsibilities are:

Organisational leadership and governance 

• Shape, drive and champion the organisation's vision, strategy and big picture thinking 

• Maintain HRI’s role and reputation as a leading international influencer and convenor in the field of harm reduction and human rights

• Provide strong, clear and proactive leadership on racial justice and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
