This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK as a Mass Participation Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the charity’s mass participation products, including the flagship event, Time for a Cuppa, while also leading in developing and launching new products to meet supporter engagement and income targets.
Reporting to the Senior Mass Participation Manager, you will contribute to shaping an effective mass participation strategy and implementing detailed operational plans to manage, diversify and grow the programme. A core part of the role involves planning and delivering compelling marketing strategies that increase supporter numbers, generate income and provide exceptional supporter experiences to maximise fundraising potential. There will also be a focus on identifying opportunities to expand the programme and improve internal processes and efficiencies.
Close collaboration with the Fundraising Innovation Lead will be essential to ensure innovation processes underpin the development of new initiatives. The role also involves negotiating contracts with external agencies and suppliers to secure best value for the charity and ensuring agreed outputs are delivered.
To succeed in this role, you will have a strong track record of managing mass participation fundraising events that deliver income growth. Experience in developing and implementing mass product strategies, managing budgets, reporting on KPIs ,variances and reforecasting is also required. A solid understanding of supporter needs and the ability to use audience insight to shape effective communication and stewardship approaches is vital. Proficiency in using a fundraising relationship database to support, inform and report on activity will be essential.

The Senior Direct Marketing Executive is a key role within the Acquisition & Development Team. They will be driving collaborative working as they lead on cross functional digital projects across Brand, Fundraising and more! We are looking for a digital expert who thrives in an independent working environment and who can hit the ground running to lead on email strategy, a digital fundraising audit and the projects that arise from that. They should be solutions focused, proactive, innovative and collaborative.
Location/base: This role will be based from home, but will require regular travel to London, Birmingham and other Trust locations for meetings and team days.
Key Accountabilities:
- Reviewing, owning and implementing our Digital Fundraising Audit project – taking the actions to complete the audit, and also leading on the workstreams that come out of it.
- Leading on email strategy and becoming a super user of Marketo, our email platform, and continuously looking to optimise ways of working regarding emails.
- Leading on onward journeys and reporting on them on a regular basis.
- Working closely with the CRM Manager and Supporter Journey Manager to ensure excellent supporter experience, clear data flows and journey maps are completed for all digital campaigns.
- Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders – from brand marketing and web development teams to creative and paid media agencies.
- Working closely with the Acquisition Team to help us deliver detailed digital analysis of campaigns.
- Ensuring we explore new and innovative digital opportunities, while remaining compliant.
- Reforecasting income and expenditure for areas of responsibility.
- Support the wider Individual Giving & Legacy team as required, including stewardship of other donor audiences during peak seasons and campaign support as required and agreed with their team manager.
Person Specification
Essential
- Demonstrable digital experience, particularly within a role or organisation focused on conversion and direct response
- Strong interpersonal skills, skilled at building internal and external relationships.
- Experience of analysing digital campaign performance and optimising in order to meet fundraising targets.
- Experience of email marketing and email marketing platforms.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects forward proactively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Proficient in the use of MS office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Events Fundraising Officer in our Fundraising team at St Joseph’s Hospice.
We are looking for an experienced Events Fundraiser to join our small but dynamic fundraising team. The role will be responsible for promoting and managing a mix of third party challenge events and bespoke events whilst providing excellent stewardship to our event fundraisers.
Working with the Public Fundraising Manager, the post holder will implement a 5 year action plan to increase income, develop effective stewardship journeys and deliver a varied and successful events calendar.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week.

- Experience of managing challenge events for a Charity
- Experience of managing campaign/activity budgets of approx. £40k per year
