About Middle Temple:
As one of the four Inns of Court, we are proud to provide support, education and accommodation to barristers at every stage of their careers. Fundraiser – The Role:
In this part-time role (22.5 hrs p/w) you will be responsible for all aspects of fund raising for The Middle Temple and for the associated activity. You will generate the strategy, annual fundraising plan and then enact activity to achieve the objectives set in the plan.
We’d love to hear from you if you are an experienced fundraising practitioner who has built strategies and plans with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Fundraiser – Key Responsibilities:
- To write the Middle Temple fundraising strategy and annual plan. Then, to enact the plan to achieve fundraising objectives
- To organise and run the annual calendar of fundraising activities, including appeals
- To manage the oversight of the Trustees of the Middle Temple charity and fund through regular meetings of these groups
- To manage, and keep updated, the fundraising databases and information sources required to enable the Inn’s fundraising
- Identify, cultivate and then apply to various funding sources, both internally and externally including grants and trusts
- Write funding applications where appropriate, monitor and track donations and keep financial records up to date
Fundraiser – You:
- An experienced fundraising practitioner used to both creating strategies and plans as well as operating as a ‘hands on’ operator
- Experience of a similar working environment and/or understanding of the workings of other not-for-profit organisations
- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a fundraising role, dealing with the legal and administrative requirements of fundraising including the relationship management of donors
- Experience in managing the requirements of a charity including accounting, reporting and attending meetings of the Charity’s Trustees
- IT literate with experience of using databases (Salesforce and CiviCRM), Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent communications skills (verbally and in writing) at all levels

Purpose of the role
- To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group
- To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations

Supporter care

Donations and data entry

- Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
- Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
- Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.
Fundraising & volunteer support
- To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
- To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
- To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.
Other
- To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
- Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a proactive and relationships-driven Partnerships Account Manager for managing and growing a portfolio of corporate partners.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.
Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, expand their portfolio and accelerate income from mission-aligned businesses.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships, this role will take a lead on nurturing existing partnerships and developing new ones, with a specific focus on increasing income through employee engagement and payroll giving schemes. It will also ensure that each partnership is maximised and aligned with Hearing Dogs’ mission and fundraising goals.
The post-holder will work closely with internal teams and corporate supporters to deliver engaging campaigns, employee fundraising, volunteering opportunities and impactful communications that help raise income and awareness for the charity.
It is a role that will require excellent stewardship, creativity and commercial awareness skills for mutual value – that means you will need strong relationship management and excellent communication skills. The role

Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with the capability to identify opportunities to grow revenue streams from Trusts, Foundations, and Multi-laterals, but also the strategic and commercial mindset to convert and maximise these. You’ll be an experienced fundraising professional from within the non-profit/charity sector, but a sustainability sector background is not as important as the qualities we’re keenly looking for, which include:
- Experience of working within a charitable fundraising environment, working with philanthropic trusts, foundations, multi-lateral organisations and other funders.
- Evidence of successfully identifying, researching, and approaching potential funders, delivering compelling pitches and proposals, and securing income.
- Effective and efficient communicator, with the ability to translate scientific information into engaging and impactful presentations.

About the Role
As part of our collaborative Finance Business Partnering team, you’ll support fundraising, communications, advocacy, and activism across Mencap. You’ll provide clear financial advice, insightful analysis, and strong financial management to ensure our fundraising income is used effectively to benefit people with learning disabilities.
Over the next five years Mencap have big ambitions to significantly grow our fundraising income and increase our influencing and campaigning impact to ensure people with a learning disability can live life to the full.
This role is a full time permanent position. There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK.
You will need to travel occasionally for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with directorate teams to create robust budgets and forecasts, offering support and advice for realistic financial planning.
- Providing clear financial reports and analysis to help teams understand results, spot emerging issues, and make informed decisions.
- Supporting complex income forecasting (e.g. legacies), using scenario analysis to guide planning and assess risk.
- Delivering financial analysis and modelling to support investment decisions.
- Ensuring funding applications and management of restricted funds are accurate and compliant.
- Improving finance processes and reporting, including with our new Salesforce fundraising CRM system.
- Acting as key contact for external auditors and funders regarding fundraising financials.
- Ensuring accounting and financial compliance with Charity SORP and other relevant regulations.

What You’ll Bring
