The Role
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Deputy Director to lead our quality assurance work and play a central role in shaping and delivering cross-sector projects. You will oversee the management and strategic development of the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and collaborate closely with the Director on broader organisational and policy initiatives.
You’ll represent ASA at external stakeholder meetings, manage contracts and project teams, and act as a senior leader within a small and dynamic team that is passionate about access to justice and social welfare.
Key Responsibilities

Lead on the delivery of the Advice Quality Standard, ensuring its integrity and independence as a sector-wide benchmark.

Manage and deliver strategic projects aligned with ASA’s business plan and broader goals.

Represent ASA at external meetings, consultations, and strategic discussions with stakeholders.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

The prospect research officer will develop and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline in order to provide the philanthropy team with an appropriate number and quality of qualified prospects across individuals, corporate, and trusts and foundations. The officer will produce insightful background research on current and prospective donors using financial, biographical, corporate and philanthropic information from trusted sources and compliance with GPDR and data protection laws. Reporting to the prospect research manager, they will regularly review the prospect research strategy in response to changing internal requirements.
The selected candidate will have experience with and understanding of the principles of philanthropy, fundraising practices, donor motivations and wealth indicators and will have experience of conducting structure background research on HNWIs, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundation Boards. This person will also have experience of producing accurate overview research on donors and prospects and will have the ability to help manage systems to support prospect pipeline management.

Job Summary
Taking a leading role as part of the Individual Giving management team, you play an important part in helping to achieve a step change in the growth of the net voluntary income of St John. The role will work closely across Individual Giving and the wider Fundraising Directorate to develop an evolving supporter acquisition strategy that will aim to recruit new supporters with a focus on digital. The role needs to focus on managing the implementation of the strategy including using insight and data to develop, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate campaigns across a range of channels, with a cutting edge and contemporary approach whilst staying current with the continuously changing legislation and support climate. Responsibilities include working with agencies and suppliers to project manage the full cycle of direct marketing campaigns.
About You
- Significant experience in a third sector direct marketing role
- Track record in managing effective digital campaigns on a national or regional basis
- Experience of using fundraising databases e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
- Extensive experience of using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email social media, direct mail, telemarketing and SMS
- Experience of leading a revenue generating team, including generation of six figure acquisition income
About the Role
- Oversee the supporter acquisition programme, taking responsibility for outstanding donor recruitment with the highest standard of quality and compliance and ensuring a diverse programme mix; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.
- Develop an annual plan of acquisition activity; monitoring and analysing all campaign results, with ongoing test and learn mechanisms in place to drive continuous improvement and making recommendations for future activity to effectively maximise income and ROI
- Working collaboratively with key fundraising and data teams; lead the development and continuous improvement of new supporter product development
- Strong agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating to contract and routine performance reviews
- Lead on all KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels; including programme optimisation to ensure targets are met and contingency planning as required.
- Work closely with key colleagues across individual giving and in other directorates to ensure they are involved in relevant aspects of acquisition activity

We are looking for a passionate Senior Data and Insights Officer to lead on impact reporting, internal evaluation and data analysis. You’ll use tools like Salesforce and data visualisation platforms to assess student progress, inform strategy, and communicate our impact to funders, partners and policymakers.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Senior Data and Insights Officer you will work with the Chief Impact Officer, within our Impact Team. Responsiblities will include:
Database Usage and Reporting
- Support our Salesforce Lead in creating reports and dashboards, ensuring all data is relevant, accurate and secure.
- Use our database management system to generate reports and data analysis for the Senior Management Team, and other internal colleagues, to support marketing campaigns, fundraising campaigns, statutory information requests and organisational insight.
- Enhance our data analysis and reporting by developing predictive modelling and exploring statistical significance of our findings.
- Prepare reports for college partners, funders, and the Board, which set out our data, findings and impact,
- Confidently write about insights and findings from our data, generating learnings and recommendations for the organisation and other stakeholders.
Internal and External Evaluations
- Support the Chief Impact Officer in developing assessment frameworks to robustly measure our impact and designing dissemination plans, to best harness and communicate that impact.
- Oversee and implement internal evaluation activity, for example, finalising student surveys, focus group and interview tools.
- Review and enhance data collection tools, process, analysis, and reporting.
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of our evaluation data; and use the data to make recommendations to improve programme quality.
- Review and keep abreast of literature and research in the further education, wider education, tuition and research landscape. You will share and apply learnings to our evaluation processes and programme delivery.
Data Quality and Assurance
- Support our ongoing compliance with GDPR across the organisation, ensuring that our data is robust, accurate and proportionate to the needs of the organisation.

This senior finance role is central to the organisation's success, providing leadership on statutory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation. The role also includes supervising a small team within the finance function and supporting operational teams with accurate and timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts with performance analysis
- Ensure income is accurately recorded and reconciled, including with fundraising systems
- Manage bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and investment reconciliations
- Oversee sales and purchase ledger activities
- Lead cash flow forecasting and monitoring
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure tax compliance within a charitable framework.
- Coordinate the annual statutory audit and produce statutory accounts
- Develop and maintain financial systems and processes, leading on any upgrades
- Collaborate with operational leads to prepare budgets and forecasts
- Present reports to finance and audit committees and boards
- Support grant reporting and financial input for funding bids
In order to be successful we are looking for you to demonstrate;
- Formal qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong technical experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit preparation gained within the charity or not-for-profit sector
- Knowledge of SORP, VAT, and charity financial regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (experience with GP Dynamics is a plus)
