Do you want to make a tangible difference to the lives of people living with arthritis and other musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions? Are you passionate about supporting and inspiring health care professionals to improve outcomes for people living with the pain and disability of arthritis?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual in the role of Professional Engagement Officer to contribute to the development of our unique Welsh Government funded project CWTCH Cymru (Communities with Touchpoints Can Help) to strengthen our community focus and ensure no one faces arthritis alone.

This new, exciting position is for someone who has excellent communication skills and experience of developing and delivering impactful educational activities to a professional audience. You will be joining a growing team who are passionate about providing high quality services to people with arthritis across Wales. Versus Arthritis wants to involve people at scale, increase the recognition of arthritis and maximise our impact for people with arthritis. We have ambitious plans for growth in Wales and this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in a dynamic evolving charity and make a positive impact on the lives of people with arthritis across Wales.

About the role

As part of the CWTCH Cymru delivery team the Professional Engagement officer will contribute to the development of our professional engagement and education portfolio, which supports Versus Arthritis professional 'alumni' members to access training and development opportunities to support best practice. This includes extending the reach of our e-learning package 'Core skills in musculoskeletal care' aimed at GPs and other healthcare professionals and developed in partnership with The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).

You will help to build our professional 'alumni' network to provide professionals with access to good practice, regular information and research updates and support from a peer community. You will scope out opportunities to reach priority professional groups, including those in primary care, physiotherapists and other professionals, and contribute to shaping insight activities to help inform our engagement and education work with these audiences.

You will engage with a range of health and social care education providers, healthcare providers, professional bodies, and other third sector organisations to identify opportunities for partnership working, sharing of best practice and innovation and promotion/development of our services. Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the charity is essential to help ensure that our work is integrated and the opportunities for cross-team working maximised.

Key requirements

  • Experience in working with health and social care education providers, professional bodies, and other third sector organisations to arrange and deliver training and development opportunities.
  • Experience in contributing to delivery of innovative engagement activities with a range of audiences.
  • Experience in project management, including applying evaluation and impact measures, budget management, problem solving and the ability to manage several ongoing tasks, prioritise and deliver to agreed timescales and quality.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including direction of external consultants and delivery partners/suppliers.
  • Experience in data management and use of CRM systems to maintain accurate data records of stakeholders and helping to develop the customer journey.
