We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Fundraising Officer to join our team, covering the South region. Based within easy reach of our London Head Office, you’ll play a vital role in generating income and building lasting relationships to support families in need.

Our charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that provides a welcoming ‘Home from Home’ where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we’re more than bricks and mortar, our friendly, caring staff are there to support families when they really need it.

Hospital can be a lonely and scary place for anyone, but especially a child. Providing around 3,500 families a year with somewhere to stay together just minutes from the hospital means that they can be by their sick child’s side and have one less thing to worry about.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding community fundraising role, focused on building strong relationships and delivering income growth across the South.

You will engage and support individuals, schools, community groups and local businesses to fundraise, delivering excellent stewardship and supporter care.

You’ll recruit participants for both ‘run your own’ and third-party events, while developing long-term relationships including with families connected to the charity.

Working collaboratively with House Teams and colleagues, you’ll help increase awareness, manage supporter activity, track income, and maximise opportunities through partnerships and communications.

You’ll also represent the charity at events and within the community.

This role requires a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet income targets.

 About you

 We’re looking for someone who is passionate about community fundraising and motivated by building meaningful relationships.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will equally be as comfortable supporting families who stay with us who want to fundraise, as you are presenting to a room full of students, or potential volunteers.

You have good organisational skills and are comfortable working to objectives and targets. You are able to work with a level of autonomy and innovation to develop your fundraising portfolio and to increase our profile particularly in the areas close to our houses.

Ultimately this is a great role for anyone who loves community fundraising and understands that no two days are the same.

About the role
As Senior Supporter Retention Officer (Appeals and Islamic Giving), you will lead the development of supporter-led, multi-channel fundraising campaigns. You'll design bespoke supporter journeys for key audiences, including Islamic givers and mid-value supporters. Job purpose

The Sponsorship Officer plays an important operational role within the College’s sponsorship and partnerships function. The position has been created to strengthen the team’s operational resilience and delivery capacity by providing administrative, coordination and delivery support across the College’s sponsorship activities.

Working closely with the Partnership and Sponsorship Manager, the Sponsorship Officer will support the planning, recruitment and delivery of sponsorship and partnership arrangements across a range of College activities. These include the Annual Congress exhibition, regional and national events, webinars, communications channels and other initiatives delivered by the College.

Main responsibilities

 Sponsorship coordination and administration

• Provide day-to-day administrative support for the delivery of sponsorship and partnership activity across the College, ensuring alignment with industry codes of practice.

JOB PURPOSE

UK for UNHCR is looking for an ambitious and proactive fundraiser to work in a Senior Philanthropy Officer role for up to one year’s maternity cover. Role Responsibilities  

• Work as part of the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy Team (PPH) to develop new opportunities with trusts and foundations in line with UK for UNHCR’s fundraising strategy. This will include supporting and leading initiatives to approach potential supporters.

Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Work alongside our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

• Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote CWNN’s work, managing our social media platforms and external comms to ensure they reflect our strategic goals and values. 

• Producing our supporter e-newsletter, with support from the Development team, to ensure CWNN’s key work, impact, news and campaigns are effectively promoted to our supporter base.

• Create engaging digital content for our website and social media including written copy, video and graphics, to drive engagement, increase awareness and generate income.

• Capturing and analysing key campaign engagement KPIs to inform future strategies and approaches to best engage existing and new audiences.

•  Produce quarterly comms impact overview for senior management and trustee reports.

• Create marketing materials for external use, eg. corporate pitch documents, fundraising packs, gig programmes, flyers and posters using Canva.

• Co-creating case studies, supporting members to share their stories, their way, amplifying their voices and demonstrating the impact of our choirs to stakeholders.

• Co-lead our co-produced ‘Digital Storytellers’ programme with our Community Participation Manager, supporting members to manage their own local social media accounts, sharing their stories and raising awareness of their choirs to new audiences.

• Maintain, organise and populate CWNN’s media library and YouTube channel.

• Write and distribute press releases to both regional and national press and media, fielding media enquiries and building our media contacts.

• Oversight of the day to day content management and maintenance of the website

• Co-ordinate our internal communications programme and internal newsletter, working with senior leadership team.

About you 

Essential:

• You’ll have a proven track record in delivering successful, innovative and impactful charity communications content and strategies.
• You’ll have a good understanding of how fundraising and engagement campaigns can convert individuals into donors and advocates.
• You’ll have a creative eye and strong writing skills, with experience of bringing compelling stories to life across various platforms and media, to connect with a diverse range of supporters, funders and stakeholders.

In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. Appalled by the scenes playing out across the capital, a group of people came together to tackle the challenge head on. Led by Cardinal Basil Hume and Mark McGreevy OBE, in 1989 Depaul UK was born.
