Job description

Parents Against Child Exploitation (Pace) is the lead national charity that works alongside parents and carers of children who are, or who are at risk of being exploited by individuals from outside of the family. We provide guidance and training to professionals on how child sexual exploitation, modern slavery, human trafficking and the criminalisation of exploited children affects the whole family.

This is an exciting opportunity to pilot Pace’s work in Liverpool, working with multi-agency partners tackling child sexual and criminal exploitation, to act as an independent source of support and contact for parents whose children are being sexually and criminally exploited, and to liaise between statutory agencies and families in order to maximise the ability of all parties to safeguard a child a risk of, or being exploited by individuals from outside the family.

You will have good active listening skills, be able to give non-judgmental emotional support, have the ability to empathise and engage with affected parents, and respect their vital role in safeguarding their child. You will be able to liaise and develop a good rapport with partner agencies in Liverpool, and offer advice on good practice relating to working in partnership with affected parents. You will maintain your own professional practice and ensure ongoing development through use of supervision and training. You will adhere to Pace ethos and policies including equal opportunities and diversity.

This post is funded until 31 March 2021, with a commitment to find further continued funding.
