This is a 25 hour a week fixed term position until July 2026

How you will make a difference

As Senior Programme Officer, I will support the Head of Commercial Insight & Development to ensure Mental Health UK delivers high quality projects and programmes that:

• Meet the aims and objectives of our 2025-30 strategy.
• Are strategically aligned with the needs and expectations of our four founding charities.
• Deliver for all stakeholders, including funding partners and beneficiaries.

In this role, I will support the Head of Commercial Insight & Development to identify opportunities to grow and expand our existing programmes. I will work with the Communications and Marketing Team to identify opportunities throughout our programmes to demonstrate our impact as an organisation.

I will oversee the day-to-day delivery of projects within Mental Health UK’s portfolio, supporting colleagues across Mental Health UK and the four founding charities to ensure outputs are delivered on time and to budget, and outcomes are achieved as planned.

The Head of Media is responsible for the Spokesperson Network and helping people in NEON’s networks make the most of media opportunities. They lead on strategy, developing high-level media contacts and managing staff associated with the programme. 

You will be someone who knows how to land stories and spokespeople in the media, capitalising on media and movement moments to push the conversation in a progressive direction. You’ll have a track record of jumping on opportunities, training spokespeople to deal with hostile interviews and staying calm under pressure. You will be a reflective manager, able to establish a strategically aligned, motivated and committed team. You will have a strong  understanding of the media landscape - including how it interacts with social media. 

On a day to day basis you will manage a team which books spokespeople into broadcast media every day of the week. You’ll pitch and draft comment pieces, build new contacts across progressive spaces and have high level meetings with producers and journalists. 

This project is part of a wider Communications Hub in which you’ll play an active role helping to develop the overall strategy and direction of the project.

STOPAIDS is a UK-based network with over 30 years of experience in the HIV response, and which also works more broadly across global health. We are part of a global movement aiming to address the systemic causes of health inequity, end AIDS, and ensure everyone can access their right to health and well-being. By providing decision-makers with both evidence and advocacy, we drive informed, just decisions that improve access to treatment, prevention, care, and support for HIV and other health conditions.

About the role

STOPAIDS mobilises civil society, parliamentarians, the public and the media to influence decision-makers in the UK and globally on the advocacy impact areas outlined in our 2022-2025 strategy.

In partnership with senior leadership, the Media and Communications Manager will oversee the design and implementation of STOPAIDS' organisational-wide media and communications strategy that amplifies STOPAIDS’ impact and reputation across our key advocacy areas. This work includes providing media and communications guidance, coordination and delivery support to our joint advocacy projects with partners.

Our joint advocacy projects are subject to change, but currently include the Digital Health and Rights Project, the UK Civil Society working group on the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, the UK Civil Society working group for Unitaid and a new coalition to advocate on the future of the global health architecture.

The Media and Communications Manager will support STOPAIDS and our joint advocacy projects to achieve our advocacy objectives through identifying strategic media opportunities, managing relationships with media outlets, and securing external media coverage. They will also work with staff and partners to develop relevant high-quality media products and to develop and manage online communications content for our key social media and website platforms.

As a capable team leader, the Media and Communications Manager provides expert guidance to staff and partners, is comfortable coordinating and facilitating working groups and supports the leadership of people living with and affected by HIV. They also work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that media and communications strategies are aligned and complementary with other organisational strategies and priorities.

As with all STOPAIDS staff, and in partnership with the CEO and the Director for Development & Engagement, they will work to ensure the sustainability of the organisation by contributing 10% of their time to fundraising (to support with application and report writing) and other advocacy support.

The role has a six-month probation period.

The Team Administrator for the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM), is a varied and vital role in which you will provide administrative support for the Association’s activities, such as supporting the working and steering groups, minute taking, managing the application process, adding events to our website and sending email newsletters.  

As Team Administrator for the BAPM, you will manage the administration for the BAPM endorsement process and run the administration for the student essay competition and the BAPM Awards.

Reporting to the BAPM Chief Executive, you will work as part of a team of five staff members, therefore flexibility of duties and roles will be required. As a crucial member of a small team, it is essential for you to develop and maintain an understanding of perinatal issues in order to appreciate the wider impact of BAPM’s work. Ideally the role is for 35 hours per week but 28 hours per week can be offered for the right candidate.

Educated to a good standard, you should have substantial experience of providing administrative support to a busy team and be capable of prioritising competing demands and delivering to deadlines. With experience of organising online meetings and taking notes, ideally you will have a background in using online forms to collect and present data and be adept at managing a shared email inbox, running webinars and updating websites using a content management system.

An excellent team player with outstanding organisational, communication and customer service skills, you should be self-motivated and have the ability to act in a professional manner and manage sensitive and confidential information.

Online Searches

In accordance with statutory safeguarding and child protection guidance, online searches will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before interview. As our Research Manager, you won’t just be producing reports – you’ll be leading the charge in uncovering the real experiences of unpaid carers and identifying practical, transformative solutions to support them. This is a role that sits at the heart of our work: turning insight into influence, and evidence into action.

What you’ll do:

• Lead new research that explores the complexities of unpaid care, from the day-to-day realities carers face to the systems and services intended to support them.

• Work directly with carers and the organisations that serve them, ensuring our research is grounded, participatory, and genuinely reflective of real lives.

• Bridge the gap between academia, policy, and practice, using both rigorous academic methods and agile, think tank-style approaches to drive timely and impactful outputs.

• Shape the national conversation by presenting evidence to decision-makers, influencing policy debates, and helping Carers Trust lead the sector in what works – and what needs to change.

• Embed an evidence-driven culture across Carers Trust, working with colleagues across teams UK-wide to ensure insight guides everything we do.

Director of Programmes
London (with flexibility for one day of remote working per week)
£72,000 – £92,000 per annum

Our client is a fast-growing charity using the power of football to change lives. They run accessible, high-quality football programmes for thousands of young people across London, regardless of their background or ability to pay.

In just six years, they’ve grown from a bold idea to reaching 6,000 young people every week. Their ambition is to reach 20,000 by 2028. To get there, they need a strategic operator to lead the next phase of their growth.

They’re looking for a Director of Programmes with a proven ability to scale services, build systems that support consistent delivery, and ensure quality is never compromised. This is not a frontline delivery or coaching role, it’s a senior leadership position that combines strategic oversight, operational rigour, and cultural leadership.

You may come from a background in large-scale event operations, network-based service models, or high-growth commercial environments where building for scale was central to your role. Whether you’ve grown delivery infrastructure for a logistics platform, designed consistent customer experiences across digital and in-person touchpoints, or codified a service model for expansion, you’ll understand how to scale something complex with consistency and care. At our client’s organisation, the product is the experience they deliver to thousands of young people each week and they’re looking for someone who can ensure that experience remains exceptional as they grow.

You’ll lead a growing team, shape delivery strategy, and build systems that support high performance across all programmes. Football experience isn’t essential, but you’ll need to understand and value the role it plays in engaging and inspiring young people.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Proven experience designing and scaling programme or product delivery in a fast-growth, impact-focused or operationally complex environment

• Strong operational and strategic leadership, with the ability to codify delivery models, build scalable systems, and maintain quality at pace

• A data-informed mindset, with confidence using insight, analytics, and digital tools to drive performance and decision-making

• Experience leading and developing teams, fostering a high-performance culture, and collaborating effectively across functions such as digital, marketing, fundraising, and partnerships

• A strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance, particularly in youth or community settings

• Deep personal alignment with our client’s mission and the belief in sport as a tool for social change
