Summary of the role:
As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer focuses on strengthening and supporting the various projects, including the collection of programme wide statistics to detail the reach and results of Muslim Aid UK (MAUK) programmes. The MEAL Officer will provide guidance, coordination, and technical support to Country Offices and Partner’s MEAL systems through MAUK Programmes, ensuring that the programme has the flexibility to respond appropriately to the context while ensuring quality, effectiveness and responsiveness in line with humanitarian standards, as well as compliance with the Institutional donors.
The position supports a robust monitoring system that facilitates both accountability and learning and includes data collection, analysis, learning reflection and timely action-taking in support of quality service delivery.
You will play a critical role in this unit with an exciting mandate to support and improve the dynamic programmatic portfolio Muslim Aid Implements Globally. You will work closely with partners and country offices and contribute to improving systems within IPD.
About the Role:
- Collaborate with the MEAL Manager, country offices and partners staff to craft MEAL systems that align with the project, and MAUK Global objectives, are relevant to the context, responsive to assessed needs, are measurable and are in compliance with grant requirements.
- Ensure that all relevant collaborators have timely access to appropriate information and evidence.
- Support in the review and prepare timely and accurate MEAL reports, including progress reports and impact assessments.
- Provide assistance in monitoring programme progress including the design of appropriate MEAL Plans, indicators, targets, baseline data, timelines, data collection tools that can track progress of projects’ progress.
- Support the preparation of terms of reference of external and internal evaluations, case and impact studies in coordination with the focal points.
- Support the MEAL Manager on building capacity among staff and partners in MEAL concepts and practices.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate degree in international development, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarianism, or programme management preferred.
- Understanding of development programmes design, implementation and evaluation.
- Experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluation of programmes; using of quantitative and qualitative research data collected in support of programme development.
- Experience developing logical/results frameworks, indicators, and MEAL plans.

The Head of Social Policy leads the development of our thinking across public service reform, social security and housing. The Head of Social Policy generates project ideas, oversees the development of quantitative and qualitative research, leads funding bids and manages day-to-day funder relationships. Experience and knowledge:

● Ability to provide a valid Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate (issued within the last year).

As Finance and Operations officer, you will report to the Operations and Systems Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team. This role is vital to the support of the wider organisation, being the go-to person for financial, HR and IT enquiries.

Finance Administration
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including importing and coding invoices for approval, raising sales invoices, and supporting bank reconciliation.
- Prepare and issue contracts and invoices for colleges, freelancers, and central team members.
- Manage credit control by coordinating weekly payment runs and liaising with debtors to ensure timely payment.
- Prepare monthly payroll submissions, including reconciling tutor hours, holiday pay and training.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for internal budget holders.

IT and Equipment management
- Support the Operations & Systems Manager in maintaining oversight of IT hardware, phones, and other equipment – including managing logistics and phasing out older kit.
- Act as the first point of contact for the team on IT matters, liaising with our external IT provider and tracking outstanding tasks and support hours used.
Office tasks
- Liaise with the Charity we share offices with regarding office facilities and help maintain office supplies and equipment levels.
- Manage keyholder records, ensuring an accurate log of staff with key and fob access to the office.
General Administration
- Monitor and respond to shared mailboxes, ensuring timely and appropriate handling of enquiries or redirecting them as needed.
- Provide additional programme support where required – including booking conferences and ordering printed materials or resources.
- Respond to internal queries and offer cross-team support on financial, HR, and IT matters.

The grants operations and data manager is a newly created role, within Moorfields Eye Charity's grants and research team, to support, manage and develop grant funding operations. This is a really exciting time to join the team as this position will play a key role in the ongoing optimisation of the teams grants management system (Flexigrant, implemented 2024) and also the underpinning funding operations to support the delivery of our first grants strategy, due to be launched in early 2026.
We have ambitious plans. We have put into action a five-year business plan that is supporting our growth from raising and funding around £6 million annually to becoming a £10 million a year charity.

About the role

You will be involved in optimising the grants management system and funding processes, driving effective data collection and reporting, and corresponding work-flows. The role is highly collaborative, requiring you to develop professional working relationships with stakeholders at various levels. It will suit a candidate who is dynamic and ambitious, confident delivering change, and in taking initiative.
About you
You will have an established track record in grant-making, ideally in a health or medical research charity. You will have experience in the full life-cyle of grants management and the delivery of grant-making programmes, working with complex data and databases. You will also have a keen interest in improving operational processes and developing/analysing reports for data driven grant making activities and showcasing the impact of funding.
You will be an effective communicator, able to build confident working relationships at all levels. You will bring strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to work collaboratively and to influence, lead others in matrix style working.

The Role

The (Senior) Research Officer will be an integral part of the team working to tackle gambling related financial harms through delivering timely and insightful research and consultancy support.
