people who’ve been homeless. We dream of ending homelessness by partnering
with local churches to grow positive, prayerful support networks around people
who’ve been homeless, as well as providing a safe, stable place to live.
Right now, in and around Portsmouth, we have 11 houses, with 28 tenants being
befriended and loved by 8 churches – all set up since 2018. And we’re not
stopping there, with more churches and areas looking to join us.
When we provide people with a safe home, professional support and the security
of positive relationships, this helps them find the confidence, motivation and
hope for change. Then we are able to support them in moving on to their own
secure accommodation.
The Franchise Lead is key to keeping our growing organisation strong and
Christian, partnering with churches to show God’s love to tenants no matter
what they are facing. We want to grow without ever losing the quality of support

Key aspects of the role include:
• Overall: our vision is to see each individual and family thrive in our
homes, and to see more local churches wanting to “house the homeless.”
• Develop and equip the team to ensure tenants thrive in safe, supportive
environments. We currently have 6 staff.
• Work with local churches so that their friendship & support teams are
empowered, equipped, and prayerful; promote the charity so that new
ones want to get involved.
• Ensure current investors feel engaged and valued; and promote the
charity so that new ones come on board.
• Ensure that the charity has the highest safeguarding, property and quality
standards, liaising with national and regional Hope into Action teams.

About the role
Public Law Project (PLP) seeks an inspiring and experienced interim CEO - parental leave cover - to lead us through an exciting and pivotal period. With our new strategy launching in July 2025, we are looking for a collaborative and values-driven leader to turn vision into action, build our external profile, support a developing team, and drive sustainable funding growth. This is a critical 12-month appointment, offering the opportunity to lead one of the UK’s most respected legal charities through a period of dynamic transition.
You will guide PLP through a vital year of strategic delivery and internal consolidation. What we are looking for
We’re seeking a senior leader with a proven record of translating strategic plans into operational delivery and measurable impact, leading and supporting teams through organisational growth or transition, and building strong external partnerships and raising organisational profile. You will have experience in supporting income generation and funder engagement, and of effectively working with trustees and senior stakeholders to ensure good governance and risk oversight.
A background in law or public law is not essential, but you must bring a clear appreciation of the issues and landscape in which we operate. Most importantly, you’ll bring a collaborative and empowering leadership style, a deep alignment with our values, and the ability to get the best from people during times of change.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities
Research grant management
- Managing the delivery of GOSH Charity’s response-mode funding schemes, including our National Research Project Grant and ‘Lift Off’ pilot study funding call and others.

- Processing, reviewing and validating grant applications.
- Leading the peer review process using our Grant Management System.

Committee management

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of both Ethex and Energise Africa. About the role
Each of the Support Network Coordinators have the responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and expanding the support services available to spinal cord injured (SCI) people and their region of the UK.
The post coordinates two vital parallel strands:
- In your region, to reach and support newly and long-term spinal cord injured people and their families developing a strong partnership with all available specialist services, charity and business partners; managing a dedicated team of volunteers as well as providing direct support to SCI people with more complex support needs.
- Nationally, working to facilitate the link between SCI people and SIA and the network of services; referring SCI people and their families to our clinical / health expert support teams and advocacy services; working with the Digital Engagement team to build on-line links to regional partners in your area; supporting fundraising, campaigns and communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the job for your if you’re good at:
- Building strong relationships – you’ll be talking to everyone from people with SCI and their families, to healthcare professionals, solicitors and partners who deliver key services.
- Identifying opportunities – to expand SIA’s portfolio of services, we’ll need your knowledge of organisations and individuals that provide services to those affected by spinal cord injury.
- Engaging People – whether it’s service users or your team of volunteers, the success of our work relies on you being able to keep people engaged with what we’re doing.
- Being organised – managing your own diary, keeping in touch with your contacts, ensuring your volunteers are being utilised effectively, providing support to those in greatest need, referring to internal & external service providers and keeping records of the support SIA is delivering.
- Providing life-changing support to those that need it most – you’ll be facing up to the most difficult challenges our service users face.
- Making the ask – whether it’s growing the fundraising activities that underpin the charity, securing the use of a venue for a support group meeting, or ensuring healthcare professionals are promoting our services.

You will be responsible for our brand, storytelling, content strategy, and creative outputs—ensuring that everything we do reflects our values, amplifies our impact, and deepens our reach across the cultural and climate landscape. You’ll also play a key role in supporting our impact including welcoming new cultural organisations, creative practitioners, environmental partners, and funders into our network.
This is a digital-first communications role, with a strong focus on content development, storytelling, and designing varied communication campaigns. You’ll oversee our editorial voice across blogs, email, social media, and digital content. Alongside our Marketing Lead, you will ensure our insights, tools, and narratives are warm, purpose-focused, clear, accessible, and optimised for reach and engagement. You will be someone who thrives on the combination of ambitious strategic thinking and delivering content and projects on the ground.
You will collaborate with partner organisations to co-create communications, support joint campaigns, and ensure our voice is visible and aligned in the broader climate and culture movement. And while press/media remains part of the role, your primary focus will be digital content, brand positioning, and reaching new audiences.
You will be part of a small Marketing and Communications team and work closely with the rest of JB’s 22-person, supportive and mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and deliver an inclusive, digital-first communications strategy that positions Julie’s Bicycle as a cultural leader in climate action.
- Work with senior leadership to drive communications that support organisational growth, impact and fundraising, helping to expand our network and deepen engagement with the arts and cultural sector and the climate and environmental movement.

Brand, Creative & Campaigns
- Lead on brand implementation, ensuring coherence of messaging and tone across all channels and materials.

- Take a data-led approach to maximise impact of our communications.

Partnerships & Profile
- Collaborate with cultural, environmental, and funding partners to co-create shared messaging, campaigns, and communications assets.

Media & External Relations

- Support the management of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

- Substantial experience in a senior communications role, ideally within the cultural, environmental, or non-profit sectors.
- Significant experience in designing and delivering successful communications strategies.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a track record of developing clear, creative, and inclusive content.
- Strong experience in campaign development, brand implementation, visual storytelling, and communications project management.
- Knowledge of content strategy, SEO, and audience engagement across digital platforms.

The Role

Facilitate workshops ( Job Club/ Community Cafe/ Coffee Morning/ Information sessions ) and Group Sessions - in person/ virtually

Lead/ Support the team with the design and development of resources for the benefit of all users of the debt and welfare benefits system, and help drive forward our safeguarding and co-production culture

To work with the Head of Compliance and Development to ensure the quality of the support given by the team/volunteers through assisting with case reviews, training, and development

Research, analyse, and interpret relevant policies, legislation, and programmes related to the sector with the support of the Head of Compliance and Development

Work with the Head of Compliance and Development to proactively identify gaps in information provision across our programmes and implement solutions.

Person Specification

Experience delivering advice & Advocacy/ Wrap around care in at least one relevant area,/Relevant qualifications for the post

About the Role
As CEO, you will work closely with the Board of trustees and management team to develop and implement the organisations strategy, business plan and project plans and ensure clients benefit from sustainable, inclusive, high quality domestic abuse support and other services.
Your leadership and management will inspire and support staff to deliver client-led quality services, including the effective recruitment, retention and development of staff. You will maintain and build on the strong positive working relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients and collaborate with other organisations.
The role is responsible for managing legal obligations, sustainability, risk, quality, equality and diversity, safeguarding and financial matters and over 20 volunteers and a staff team of 14 people.
Key objectives include:
- Lead on strategy and work closely with the Board on governance
