The Journey and Cross Sell Manager is responsible for developing rich supporter journeys, primarily across email, that deepen the relationship between RNID and our incredible supporters.
As The Journey and Cross Sell Manager, you will:
- Build, design and deliver supporter journeys that engage audiences and encourage them to take actions, such as donating
- Work closely with colleagues in Marcomms and Fundraising to develop journeys tailored to donor types and audience segments
- Work closely with the Digital team to build journeys in Microsoft Dynamics
- Draft journey content plans and write journey content
- Maintain oversight of journeys and email across the charity, ensuring supporters receive communications that are timely, relevant and effective
- Monitor data briefs
- Track journey data and results, making recommendations to optimise their performance
- Oversee the schedule for refreshing journey content and briefing into the Content team
- Write up key processes relating to journeys and cross sell and following project delivery processes
You are an experienced professional, passionate about developing supporter or customer journeys that build loyalty and engage and inspire people to take action. Experience of developing supporter or customer journeys, especially over email is essential, as is experience of using a CRM to build and send emails (Microsoft Dynamics desirable). You should also have strong communication and copywriting skills and experience of managing projects.

The Partnership Officer will be a key member of The Hygiene Bank’s income generation team and wider central team, with a responsibility to help meet the needs of our existing partnerships and support in fulfilling the charity’s income generation plans and strategy.

AdviceUK makes a big impact. Its stakeholder, policy and advocacy work is across devolved nations as well as the UK. This is an exciting time to join AdviceUK's growing team as they launch a new three-year strategy. The organisation will be making a significant investment in capacity, new support services and innovation to deliver the support and advice that members, the wider advice sector and their communities need.
The Funding and Programmes Manager will support members and the wider advice sector to access and secure grant and other funding directly with the purpose of sustaining advice services. The post holder will nurture positive relationships with funders and administer grant-funded programmes on behalf of funders ensuring programmes are supportive of the needs members and the communities they serve.
Key responsibilities
- Funder Relationship-Building: Foster and maintain relationships with grant-makers and other funders to make funding available to members and advice services, share insights to shape future funding, and develop new funder relationships that create income for AdviceUK and its members.
- Programmes and Project Management: Oversee the delivery of multiple projects, coordinate involvement of staff and external partners, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and maintain effective governance, risk management and monitoring.
- Project and Programme Development: Identify funding opportunities, develop funding bids and proposals, lead tenders for contracts, ensuring these new projects integrate with AdviceUK's strategic objectives.
- Data and Evidence Management: Evaluate projects to share best practices, conduct research and data analysis, support performance reporting, and ensure accurate and timely data entry.
The Funding and Programmes Manager will have at least 2 years' experience managing multiple time-limited projects and programmes in a similar role, and an understanding of the social welfare advice sector, the issues faced by advice providers and the communities they serve. The successful candidate will have experience of setting up and maintaining effective processes to monitor projects/programmes deliver funder requirements and agreed objectives, and experience of programme monitoring and evaluation. You will have experience of working with funders to support the development of their funding strategy and programmes, building successful bids for project/programme funding, and assessing and applying for government funding, contract and tenders at national and local level.
You will have the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, managers, members, partners and funders, with strong analytical, decision-making and organisational skills. You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely to a range of audiences. You will be able to use online reporting tools and CRMs and embrace new technologies and ways of working.
This is a home-based role. You will need to regularly attend meetings and events in London. There will be 4 all staff meetings a year, three in London and one outside of London. There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted.

Key Responsibilities:
Proposal development
- Identify, research and advise on new funding opportunities.
- Coordinate proposal development for assigned countries/donors and cross-organisational teams to respond to funding opportunities.
- Contribute to meeting departmental financial and non-financial (volume and quality of proposals) targets.
- Develop and oversee proposal development timetable; coordinate inputs; write and edit content; provide quality assurance on fit with donor priorities; ensure compliance with internal review and approval procedures; ensure timely submission; and follow up with donors for feedback.
- Facilitate proposal consultation meetings, prepare summary presentations and develop meeting notes.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Programmes Department, who lead project design, to contribute to the assessment, research and design of projects for specific donor funding opportunities.
- Lead tracking of funding opportunities including monitoring funding databases, liaising with donor staff and colleagues on progress of applications or potential funding opportunities.
- Work closely with Programmes Department colleagues to support and/or lead contract negotiation with institutional donors.
Donor Strategy Alignment, Engagement and Relationship Management
- Support donor strategy to maximise relationships and funding from donors through: meeting donors and cultivating contacts; creating and maintaining strategic account plans; liaising with colleagues across the organisation to coordinate donor meetings and briefings; and writing capacity statements/quality statements for specific donors.
- Maintain up-to-date information on donor priorities, strategies, regulations and activities pertaining to SHA’s strategic plan.
- Ensure relevant staff including senior management and Country Directors are briefed on donor activities, through the preparation of briefing notes and maintaining up-to-date information on our management information system.
- Provide advice to Programme Department colleagues on donor policies and priorities, in order to support overall donor strategies.
- Maintain and report on donor relationship and income pipelines on a periodic basis.
- Manage relationships with assigned funders to build effective long-term partnerships.
Programme Funding Team and Miscellaneous
- Work with colleagues within the Programme Funding Team, and across the organisation, to improve the standard of proposal and report writing and donor relationships, and ensure funding opportunities and contracts are managed according to donor requirements.
- Coordinate the timely review of grant agreements to signature
- Add and maintain opportunities, donor records, files and time records in the organisation’s management information system.
- Provide capacity development and training in programme funding and bid writing to colleagues.
- Contribute to Programme Funding Team reporting.
- Represent the organisation in donor funding-related groups and networks.
- Keep up-to-date on relevant areas of the development sector.

Knowledge, Experience & other Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of three years’ experience in roles which included programme funding.
- Excellent written skills, and the ability to creatively turn complex project and/or organisational information into compelling proposals.
- Evidence of success in developing proposals and securing funding from institutional donors (e.g. USAID, EU, GIZ, UN, FCDO).
- Ability to form good working relationships and to coordinate with colleagues across the organisation and with partners in multiple locations.
- Administrative skills such organising and maintaining records, files, and databases
- Experience of building and maintaining excellent relationships with institutional donors and partners.
- Self-motivated, proactive and driven individual, with experience of managing and prioritising own workload, meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure.
- Strong and creative oral presentation skills and experience.
- Strong numeracy and analytical ability, with ability to understand complex budgets and an eye for detail.
- Ability and willingness to travel when required
Desirable
- Ability to speak/understand French or Portuguese and to write funding proposals in French/Portuguese.

The Role
