Yet funding for fundraising, organisational development and core infrastructure is often the hardest support to secure.

Afrocats is entering an exciting period of growth and is seeking an experienced fundraising professional who wants to use their skills to make a meaningful difference. We are looking for someone who can help us strengthen our core-funding pipeline by identifying new opportunities, reviewing and improving applications, and increasing the number and quality of bids submitted.

Working alongside the CEO and team, you will help build the foundations that enable us to reach more people, deepen our impact and secure long-term resilience.

The role would suit an experienced fundraiser, retired fundraising professional, charity consultant, grants specialist, corporate fundraiser or development professional who is looking to give back, share their expertise and support a growing organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey. Your knowledge and guidance will help unlock resources that directly benefit women, children, young people, refugees, asylum seekers and diverse communities across Greater Manchester.

By volunteering your expertise for just 8 hours per week, you can make a lasting contribution to the sustainability and future success of Afrocats.

About Us

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK's leading charity dedicated to uniting for a life unlimited for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting over 11,000 people across the UK. We fund vital research, campaign for access to life-changing treatments, and provide support to people living with CF and their families. 

About the Role

Every year, incredible supporters across the UK raise funds for people affected by cystic fibrosis. We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help us celebrate, support and encourage those fundraisers in their local communities, ensuring they feel valued and connected to Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

By volunteering with us, you'll help ensure fundraisers feel valued and supported, and we'll give you everything you need to feel confident in the role. Full training and support will be provided.

As a Community Fundraising Volunteer, you'll play an important role in helping us build relationships with fundraisers and supporters in your local area. Whether you're attending events, thanking supporters, delivering fundraising resources or sharing local insight, you'll help ensure fundraisers feel appreciated and connected to the impact they're having.

• Flexible time commitment

This is a flexible, ongoing volunteer opportunity that can fit around your existing commitments. 

What You'll Be Doing

You could support us in a variety of ways, including:

• Attending fundraising events and representing Cystic Fibrosis Trust in your local area. 
• Thanking supporters and organisers, including giving a short speech if you're comfortable doing so. 
• Delivering and collecting fundraising materials and resources. 
• Collecting and returning collection tins and donation boxes securely.
• Sharing local knowledge and helping identify potential fundraising or partnership opportunities. 
• Providing occasional support to Community Fundraisers with local fundraising activities and events.

We recognise that every volunteer brings different strengths, experiences and interests, and aspects of the role can be tailored accordingly. 

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for people who:

• Are enthusiastic about supporting the work of Cystic Fibrosis Trust. 
• Enjoy meeting and communicating with a variety of people. 
• Have a friendly, positive and people-centred approach. 
• Feel comfortable working independently, while knowing support is available when needed. 
• Have basic IT skills and access to email and a phone. 
• Are willing and able to travel locally to support fundraising activities.

Experience in fundraising or volunteering is helpful but not essential. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of cystic fibrosis, either directly or through a family member, although this is not a requirement.

We are looking for a volunteer, preferably with corporate fundraising experience to research the corporate giving landscape and the interests of potential doners. As a Corporate Fundraising Volunteer for unpaid carers, you will play a key part in helping Carers Trust Hillingdon & Ealing secure funding that enables us to continue and expand our vital services for unpaid carers across the borough.

Your support will directly contribute to improving the quality of life for carers by enabling new services, resources, and opportunities. This role is ideal for someone with good communication and organisational skills who enjoys building connections and making a tangible difference in the community.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Identify potential corporate doners and partners whose corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals align with our mission and values.

• Approach local and national businesses over the telephone to inform them of the work of Carers Trust Hillingdon & Ealing

• Keep accurate records of all approaches and outcomes.

• Attend and help organise fundraising events that support our mission.

• To carry out the above tasks in accordance with the policies of Carers Trust Hillingdon & Ealing, including our Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Health & Safety.

You will support DFN’s fundraising team by helping to identify new opportunities, strengthen relationships with supporters, and contribute to the development of funding opportunities that enable our work to grow.

This role will involve using your writing and research skills to support a range of activities, working closely with the team to help increase DFN’s fundraising capacity and impact. The role is remote, with regular opportunities to connect with the fundraising team and learn more about DFN’s work. You will need access to a computer and the internet.

We are currently seeking a passionate and proactive Volunteer Director of Fundraising to help secure essential funding through grant writing and creative fundraising strategies. This role is key to helping us sustain and expand our therapeutic services.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify suitable grant opportunities, trust funds, and community funding streams.

A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

• make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.
