Events and Campaigns at LAFF are seen as a way of engaging and increasing our supporter network. This is a dynamic role which will see you work with the Fundraising and Communications teams to recognise that support is far greater than just financial donations: we put a great value on our community’s time, communication with their personal networks, skills and ideas.

You will take on the responsibility of being a central point of contact for LAFF’s supporters when organizing their own fundraising events, as well as developing and delivering innovative events and campaigns for LAFF.

Your ability to think creatively to create disruptive communications strategies which will engage individuals and convert them into supporters will be crucial, as well as your research skills to help find new opportunities to hold events and campaigns.

Objectives of this Role

• Identify, plan and host fundraising events online and in person

• Network and establish contact with individuals and businesses for potential event collaboration or partnership

• Take primary responsibility for all planning, logistics and arrangements of LAFF’s ongoing events and campaigns.

• Work closely with the communications team to actively promote and create awareness of LAFF’s events, identifying the appropriate audiences and potential attendees and tailoring the strategy accordingly e.g. local or expat communities

• Act as a central point of contact and support for LAFF community members organizing their own events and develop resources for members to use

• Engage LAFF’s donor community with targeted events for different audiences e.g. school assemblies, webinars, raffles

• Support the communications team in developing visual media to promote events and for campaign

Skills and Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a related field (Communications, Event Management, International Relations) or currently enrolled

• 6 months of volunteering or work experience; PR/Communications/Event Planning experience highly desirable but not essential

• Advanced proficiency in either English or Spanish required, but high proficiency in both languages desirable

• Energetic with excellent interpersonal and networking skills

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

• Good time management and communication skills for working with other teams

• Highly organized, flexible, independent, culturally sensitive and detail oriented with the ability to multitask

• Knowledge of design and formatting a plus

• We are looking for a volunteer to find published materials related to Quilombo’s key objectives, especially cultural and racial diversity, and stereotypes in UK communities. The materials include all types of evidence, articles, journals, newspaper columns, local and global news stories. 

• The researcher will help to collect information that can be used as an evidence base to help inform future activities, and also in exhibitions, workshops, and community events. 

• We are looking for a self-starter who can source, collect, and share relevant materials independently. You will also be working closely with our volunteers in relevant areas such as Marketing and PR.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Job Responsibilities

This is a voluntary position. The time commitment will include preparing for and running 5 trustee meetings per year and attendance at other relevant meetings and exhibitions. There will also be some work between meetings to keep up with developments.

Work can be done outside of office hours or flexibly to suit your personal situation. Meetings take 2 hours on weekday evenings, and alternate between remote and in-person meetings. The Chairperson is usually required to commit to a further 7-14 hours between meetings.

About YBTC:

Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity began in 2003. It was originally named ‘Andrea’s Gift’, set-up in memory of Andrea Key, who died from a brain tumour aged 42.  Our vision is to cure a devastating disease that affects so many people, of all ages and background. Whilst we’re working to find a cure, we provide the best patient and family support network we can. We fund dedicated research projects across Yorkshire into treating and curing child and adult brain tumours to try to change those statistics for the better. At the same time, we support patients, carers and their loved ones who are impacted by this devastating disease now through our specialist support services.

Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour is currently unincorporated. We are currently undergoing the process of moving the charity structure to a CIO, which will provide limited liability for Trustees to third parties. This process will take approximately 6 months to complete, and our current reserves policy is to cover 6 months of expenditure.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career Communications Intern/Officer to be based with an NGO in the heart of Madagascar.

Living in the coastal town of Fort Dauphin in the southeast of Madagascar, this role will support the team managing SEED’s media and communication work. The successful candidate will work with both national and international staff to assist on a wide variety of tasks, from supporting with planning and scheduling content across our range of social media platforms, creating digital media for marketing and social media and day-to-day administration tasks. The role is predominantly office based with some ad-hoc travel to our rural projects. The diversity of activities undertaken will provide a wide-ranging experience for an early career communications and media professional who can effectively and efficiently deal with a comprehensive range of tasks related to the complex world of overseas development work.

• Create and write social media, website and newsletter content with staff across all departments in line with SEED’s strategy

• Support the development of individual giving and fundraising campaigns, through all stages

Starlight is the national charity for children’s play in healthcare. They support children to experience the power of play during treatment, care and recovery from illness in more than 600 healthcare settings across the UK.

Starlight believes that children’s healthcare services should fully reflect the importance of play to their health, wellbeing and resilience and that every child who is an inpatient should have daily play opportunities, appropriate to their condition, supported by dedicated play staff. They aim to enable all children in the UK to have their right to play protected and provided for when they are receiving healthcare – in or out of hospital.

Their recent report shows:

• 71% of Trusts and Health Boards do not have a designated budget for play resources.
• 85% of Trusts and Health Boards have no appropriate guidance or standards for health play.
• An average ratio of only one full-time HPS for 3,986 child admissions to hospital per year and there are 1.8 million hospital admissions for 0-17 year olds each year.

Starlight provides toys, technology, toolkits and training for play professionals to alleviate the immediate trauma that children are experiencing in hospitals across the UK. Using their uniquely curated research and evidence base, they also work towards systemic change in healthcare, galvanising a collaborative effort for the changes that are needed through policy and advocacy work.

We are looking for a Grants Officer who can coordinate our grants team and support diverse tasks that include research, ideation and writing of proposals. In this role you’ll be a key contributor to the continued existence of Second Tree, a small, grassroots NGO that is dependent on grants to survive.

To do this successfully, you will employ meticulous time-management and organization skills, as juggling multiple tasks with competing deadlines is common in this role. You’ll also be able to work efficiently independently, managing your own time and tasks; and in a team, overseeing project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.

You’ll have demonstrable writing experience and the ability to communicate professionally in English. You will also have experience researching and/or writing grants, producing content that is compelling and that will help Second Tree secure new funding streams. Finally, you’ll have an adaptable and flexible attitude, knowing that problem-solving and meeting tight deadlines are inevitable aspects of this role.

• Researching and identifying new grant opportunities on a weekly basis;

In certain periods of the year, demand is extremely high, and the volunteer houses might be full. If you have the means to pay for your own accommodation, please let us know. We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the volunteer houses are full, this would allow us to offer a volunteering opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.

The role:
We are looking for people who care about supporting local people in financial hardship and reducing inequality, who are willing to bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking and perspective on the board. Whether you bring expertise in housing, disability, mental health, or fundraising, your unique perspective would be invaluable to the Talking Money board.

We particularly welcome applications from people with direct or indirect (for example though a family member or friend) lived experience of the kinds of issues our clients face (e.g., poverty, financial hardship, over-indebtedness, homelessness).

Responsibilities:

As a trustee, you’ll play a pivotal role in:

• Overseeing organisational strategy and financial plans.
• Providing support and challenge to our executive team.
• Ensuring compliance with governing documents and legal obligations.
• Promoting and protecting the interests of Talking Money.

Time commitment and expenses:

• This is a voluntary position with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
• Minimum commitment of 17 hours per year, including board meetings and team events.
• Opportunities for professional development and training sessions

Terms of appointment:

• Initial 5-year term, with the possibility of renewal. Potential for progression to Chair of the Board.

Could you spare a few hours each week to help us sell donated items online and raise vital funds for the hospice?

We need volunteers to help us sell donated items online by taking pictures, researching the product online, writing a clear description, and uploading the listing to sites like eBay, Vinted, and DePop. 

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, and you will receive full training and support, as well as agreed out-of-pocket expenses (reimbursed within our guidelines).

At Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, we are dedicated to providing free, high quality, compassionate care and support for people with terminal illnesses, their families and their professional carers.

We provide holistic care that goes beyond physical needs – offering spiritual, social and psychological care, advice and support wherever needed. We also support and educate healthcare professionals to deliver high quality, individualised and co-ordinated care to people with all terminal illnesses.

We receive only around a third of our funding from the NHS. That means we need to fundraise £5m every year from local people, businesses and organisations to continue to fund our services.

Admin Support volunteer, community fundraising, Aberdeen Area

Role summary

Are you looking to use your admin skills to make a difference? You’ll provide admin support to your local Community Fundraising team to ensure that we reach more potential supporters and that all our donors, however they choose to support us, receive exceptional supporter care.  We're a new and growing team with big ambitions to engage local individuals, groups and businesses in the fight to end bad housing and homelessness. You'll play an integral role in helping to broaden our supporter base in local communities.

 This role is flexible and hours can be discussed. 

Main tasks

• Research new audiences such as schools, local businesses and faith groups based around Shelter Scotland offices.
• Support Regional Community Fundraiser in approaching new supporters.
• Strengthen relationships with supporters by providing fundraising materials and updates on our work by post and email.
• Maintaining supporter records on our database.
• Support in maintaining basic income spreadsheet such as Just Giving page total.
