ABOUT THE ROLE

This role could suit two types of candidates:

• A practitioner with experience of working with children and families who wants to use their practice experience in a programme management role, or;
• An experienced programme manager with strong public sector and/or charity sector experience, who is confident working with data and is relational and collaborative with colleagues and partners.

It would be an advantage, though not essential, to have experience of Family Group Decision Making, solution-focused practice, or the children’s social care sector.

Whilst this role is a managerial role, and not day-to-day family-facing we do make space for our Programme Managers to hold a limited number of referrals each year to nurture skills and practice experience. Full practitioner training is provided for all Daybreak employees.

The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. A successful candidate would also need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and communities in and around Bromley and Hackney on a regular basis, depending on service needs. Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is needed.

What does a week look like for a Daybreak Programme Manager?

No two weeks are the same, but as a Programme Manager you can expect to balance a mix of operational oversight, supporting your freelancer team, and stakeholder engagement. Typical activities include:

Ensuring a quality service for families, and delivering on contract aims

• Reviewing and triaging referrals, including case discussions with referrers.
• Quality-assuring referrals and Family Plans, ensuring procedures are followed and records are kept up to date in our case management system.
• Monitoring case records to make sure Family Group Conferences are progressing appropriately, and accurate records are being kept.
• Collating and analysing performance data (KPIs), using MS Excel and other tools.
• Writing quarterly reports for commissioners, analysing service delivery, providing narratives and identifying areas for development.

Working with your freelancer team of Coordinators

• Allocating new referrals to our team of freelance Independent Coordinators.
• Engaging Coordinators in best practice discussions, providing guidance to overcoming barriers or issues.
• Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, reviewing incident reports and escalating when required.
• Hosting in-person and online Practice Development Groups to share key messages and facilitate best practice discussions.
• Recruiting, inducting, and supporting new Coordinators - from advertising and interviews to observing practice.
• Reviewing and signing off invoices from freelance Coordinators.

Working with external stakeholders and referrers

• Building relationships with referrers such as Social Workers, through consultations and attending team meetings.
• Promoting our services to commissioners and senior managers in children’s social care, ensuring referrals are high quality whilst also raising awareness of the value of FGCs and our service.

Contributing to the wider Charity aims

• Attending Programme Manager and staff team meetings.
• Contributing ideas and expertise to strengthen processes, improve service delivery, expand our offer to families, and support Daybreak’s wider charitable goals.

DETAILS

• Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience
• Location: The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. There is also occasionally travel to Southampton (Head Office) for meetings and other areas, based on operational need.

JOB PURPOSE 

This exciting role focuses on raising income for the Start Network and its global initiatives, including the Start Fund, Start Ready, innovation and the expansion of a locally led network. The postholder will be an experienced trusts and / or corporate fundraiser who wants a role focused on business and relationship development. They will be responsible for an exciting portfolio of existing and prospective funders (that give 6-7 figure grants), adopting a relational approach to fundraising. 

You will be responsible for carrying out prospect donor mapping, growing a fundraising pipeline, building relationships with prominent foundations and corporates in the humanitarian space, writing technical proposals as required, pitching to donors well-articulated concepts, and building fundraising capacity within the organisation. 

It is critical that the postholder is comfortable with developing new relations. We have grown a significant number of new donors within our Foundations and Corporates over the last few years, and we hope to continue the growth of the team in this exciting role, so proof of having grown an income stream is key.

About Now Teach

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Role overview 

This role will be varied and offer lots of opportunities to get stuck into managing relationships with high value donors. Both the CEO, and the Director of Fundraising and Communications will work to steward the relationships with our donors in person, while this role will lead on delivering high-quality preparation, proposals, reporting, and data management that underpin donor relationships. You will also contribute to building connections across teams and aligning fundraising activities with Now Teach’s wider strategy. 

You’ll deliver exciting and engaging communications and events which inspire our donors to continue to support our cause, as well as be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting so we can give supporters a great sense of the impact their donations make. This role will work on a combination of externally facing and internal projects and tasks and will be a great way to advance your career in fundraising.

In this role you will…

• Create and maintain a stewardship calendar of content, reports, and events to engage our donors, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities. 

• Write and produce proposals and applications for funding from major donors and trusts, in collaboration with programme and recruitment teams, championing user-centred thinking by representing participant and school impact in fundraising materials. 

• Write and produce reports with in-depth detail of what we have achieved as a result of the funding from our donors 

• Create an engaging termly supporter newsletter, sharing insights across the organisation to drive stronger engagement. 

• Manage and own the fundraising database, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and supporting colleagues to use data effectively. 

• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting of gifts 

• Ensure compliance with fundraising legislation, charity law and data protection legislation like GDPR

Who you are (qualities/values) 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising crucial funds to ensure that Now Teachers, schools, partners, and the wider education system can realise the full potential of career changers in education.

You'll have an eye for detail and be able to deliver written communications to the highest standard, including working with our communications teams to develop and deliver engaging case studies and proposals for support. You’ll be happy working to deadlines, and spotting and responding creatively to opportunities that arise. You’ll be able to build strong external and internal relationships and enjoy the challenge of raising money to support our amazing work.

What you’ll need to succeed in this role (experience/qualifications etc) 

• Some experience of working in charities, ideally in education, and/ or  in fundraising 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• An ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks, multi-task and stay organised. 

• An ability to understand and assist with financial reporting 

• Knowledge of fundraising legislation and best practices 

• An ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders

Working arrangements 

Full time/part time role, flexible working patterns possible. Now Teach are supported to work flexibly at co-working spaces or at home as needed with monthly working days in London. You will be required to cover your own travel expenses to London.

Safe Recruitment Procedure

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world dedicated to women (and afab) with Fowler’s Syndrome or Chronic Idiopathic Urinary Retention; a life-changing and poorly understood bladder condition that causes full or partial urinary retention.

The CEO is excited to welcome a proactive, purpose-driven, and resourceful Communications and Engagement Lead to join their small and purposeful team and support the next phase in their journey.

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.

You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.

While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.

Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.

Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.

A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).

Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!

Screen Share is the UK’s leading refugee digital inclusion charity. We invest in the digital capability of refugees and people seeking asylum by providing the tools, training and opportunities they need to thrive in education, work and community life. Over the past four years, we have supported more than 3,000 refugees with devices, connectivity, and training. Our 2026–2030 strategy commits us to scaling our impact to reach 5,000 refugees across the UK every year, embedding refugee leadership, and ensuring Screen Share is an effective and sustainable full-service digital inclusion service for refugees for as long as needed. 

This role is funded for 1 year with the high likelihood that funding will continue beyond the grant period. We are also awaiting a response for 2 significant funding applications which will expand the programme. 

Personal Profile

This is a leadership role at a pivotal moment in Screen Share’s journey. The role is funded to deliver our current Digital Skills programme, with a strong focus on quality, impact and evaluation. At the same time, we are awaiting the outcome of several significant funding applications. If successful, these will enable us to expand the programme quickly, positioning the postholder as the Head of a national digital skills programme with a larger team and greater leadership remit.

You will be a dynamic and strategic leader, passionate about digital inclusion and refugees. You bring structured programme management (clear processes, monitoring & evaluation, budget oversight) combined with empathy, cultural sensitivity and the ability to motivate others. You will be excited 

You will thrive in a fast-moving and growing charity where flexibility and initiative are vital. You will embed refugee leadership at the heart of our work, co-designing with lived experience. You will also represent Screen Share externally, building partnerships with corporates, councils and charities, raising the profile of refugee digital inclusion nationally.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the design and strategic direction of our Digital Skills programme, Ensure the service we are providing is high-quality, impactful, trauma-informed and aligned with Screen Share’s 2026–2030 strategy.

• Oversee the onboarding and support of hundreds of refugees looking to develop digitally, including supporting with the development of their Independent Learning Plan’s and journeys through Digital Champions 

• Recruite, coordinate and support our digital champions and staff to provide high-quality online and in-person classes, 1:1 support and effective sign-posting

• Maintain oversight of multiple Screen Share digital skills projects delivered over multiple locations. 

• Trial innovative digital inclusion tools and approaches.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact

• Design and oversee comprehensive impact measurement and monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure the programme is most effective 

• Produce clear, data-centered programme and impact reports (quantitative and qualitative) for existing and prospective funders and partners 

• Embed continuous learning and client reflections into programme design and improvement.
   

People & Volunteers

• Recruit, train and support Digital Champions and volunteers in a trauma-informed way

• Line-manage staff kindly and calmly as the team grows

• Embed refugee leadership and lived experience in programme design, delivery and iteration
   

Partnerships & Fundraising

• Support our Outreach team in building and maintaining strong partnerships with our corporate, charity and government partners 

• Represent Screen Share to external stakeholders including corporates and charity partners with professionalism and credibility.

• Explain and facilitate our Digital Skills employee engagement package for corporates and businesses in a safe and professional manner

• Collect and report detailed programmatic data and case studies for fundraising bids and corporate partnership proposals.
   

Finance, Safeguarding & Compliance

• Hold accountability for the Digital Skills programme budget, reporting regular updates to the CEO 

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and H&S policies.

• Oversee the prompt and accurate reporting of safeguarding incidents to Screen Share’s DSL, and contribute to the development of our safeguarding as an essential element of our work
   

Personal Specification

Essential

• Significant experience in charity programme management, with a strong preference for experience in the digital inclusion, adult education or refugee support sector

• Proven ability to manage teams of staff and volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds

• Experience working directly with refugees/asylum seekers OR deep expertise in digital inclusion and commitment to learning from refugee experience.

• Strong monitoring, evaluation and reporting skills and experience

• Financial management experience (budgets, reporting).

• Experience supporting fundraising through impact reporting and case studies.

• Experience managing, training and motivating staff and volunteers.

• Excellent relationship-building skills across sectors.

• Strategic thinker with strong organisational and collaborative skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Furnishing Futures is an innovative charity creating fully furnished, healing homes for survivors of domestic abuse who have been rehoused in empty social housing. We do this by partnering with the interiors industry, which donates high quality furniture and homeware that could otherwise end up in landfill.

We are looking for a dynamic Events and Retail Manager. You’ll be working closely with our CEO and Head of Partnerships and Fundraising to develop and deliver a varied and inclusive events programme and run our sales space, The Atrium, adjacent to our warehouse in East London E10. Our events will center around our key programming pillars; sustainability, design, wellbeing, women’s empowerment, social housing and social justice.
