Along with the Assistant Head of Individual Giving, the Supporter Acquisition Managers will be responsible for growing the organisation’s supporter base and hitting an annual Individual Giving team fundraising target of £50 million in unrestricted income. As a direct marketing subject matter expert, the Supporter Aquisition Manager will lead cold recruitment campaigns and support in identifying and delivering new products or acquisition streams. The role will lead on planning and project managing delivery of a variety of media channels, both online and offline. This role will hold some strategic responsibility for either the Christmas Campaign, or ongoing Acquisition Innovation. The role will be responsible for seven figure expenditure budget and line management a Supporter Acquisition Officer or a Supporter Acquisition Executive. 

As planning for the Christmas Campaign is already underway, the charity is open to temporary or interim candidates who might be interested, as well as permanent candidates.

The successful candidates will have significant direct marketing expertise with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, ideally in a fundraising role, and with proven success at recruiting new donors. As well as previous experience in identifying areas of innovation and devising testing plans to launch and roll out, you will also have a track record in successfully leveraging value from data collated on supporter databases, to maximise targeting and data segmentation.

Key Responsibilities  

Digital Acquisition and Fundraising 

• Develop and implement acquisition campaigns and activity to attract new supporters through social platforms, both paid and unpaid, search engine advertising, and email marketing. As well as novel and innovative platforms and opportunities as identified.

• Analyse metrics and data, reporting on KPI’s, budget and spend, and work to constantly test and optimise campaigns to exceed targets and improve return on advertisement spend / return on investment.

• Ensure regular monitoring of performance across all activities and make necessary adjustments to maximise net income opportunities.

• Analyse and share the results of campaign activity. 

• Support forecasting and budget planning on Digital marketing activities within the IG budget.

Stewardship and Supporter Experience 

• Maintain a good level of understanding of our supporters' behaviours and motivations to create and implement stewardship content and journeys, feedback and respond to queries and enquiries relevant to IG activity.

• Work with the team to ensure all supporters are thanked and updated in an appropriate and timely manner and all interactions and activities are in line with our supporter promise. 

• Ensure supporter journeys are segmented and personalised wherever possible.

• Cultivate deeper engagement with supporters beyond transactional interactions, exploring opportunities for meaningful dialogue, feedback mechanisms, and a sense of community.

Database and Compliance 

• Hold a good working knowledge of key aspects of data protection law including GDPR and PECR, and the Fundraising Code of Practice.

• Work with our tools and seek to improve knowledge and use of these, including but not limited to Access CRM, Fundraise Up, Google Analytics 4 (G4A) and MailChimp.

• Adhere to all PCR policies and abide by the code of conduct and other related guidance in the PCR Staff Handbook. 

Skills and Competencies 

Our ideal candidate would have the following: 

• Proven experience in digital acquisition for charity or social cause, or in paid digital marketing or advertising in commercial roles. With demonstrable campaign management experience and expertise setting up and managing campaigns in Meta business suite, Google paid advertising and email marketing.

• Evidence of leading successful digital / integrated digital campaigns leading to significant sales/income/lead generation. 

• The ability to motivate and inspire audiences through content and creative writing and storytelling for digital channels. 

• The ability to monitor and manage income and expenditure against targets as well as forecast and report on digital campaigns across all channels. 

• Knowledge and experience of trends and dynamics in digital fundraising (ideally), including audience identification and optimisation strategies including with new technologies like AI tools. 

• Experience and a track record of working on landing page optimisation and on-site conversion funnel improvements.

• A good understanding of individual giving best practices, trends, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience moderating digital campaigns or working with others to do so (knowledge of issues and best practice) and providing excellent supporter/customer support as needed.

• A strong desire to provide excellent supporter experience and customer journeys to everyone who encounters our campaigns and communications or who gets in touch with us directly.

• A collaborative and innovative mindset with a desire to test, learn and work with stakeholders cross-functionally including internal stakeholders and external consultants or agencies, to develop new activities and campaigns, and achieve strategic goals. 

• A good communicator and team player, with a willingness to pitch in and support the goals of the team and wider organisation as a whole.

• Experience working within Agile project management would be beneficial. 

• Experience collecting content from patients, beneficiaries, or key subject matter experts in the form of written interviews, photos and/or video, and developing this into marketing assets would be desirable. 

• A strong belief in the work we do at PCR, and a demonstrable desire to improve outcomes for patients through our work in fundraising. 

• Good knowledge of WordPress website optimisation and plugins or strong desire to learn.

What You’ll be doing

Strategic Leadership:

• Design, drive and deliver MAF’s Philanthropy and Partnerships strategy to significantly grow income and deepen engagement
• Identify opportunities for innovation in donor acquisition, engagement, and retention 
• Contribute to organisational strategy as part of the Senior Leadership Team 
• Support the CEO, Trustees and other senior stakeholders in leveraging their networks and relationships 
• Match donor passions with compelling giving propositions—from medical flights to capital appeals 

Team Leadership:

• Lead, develop and support a dedicated team of fundraisers and administrators 
• Foster a high-performance culture grounded in collaboration, ownership, and Christian mission 
• Build a team known for excellence in donor stewardship and partnership development 

Cross-Organisational Collaboration:

• Work closely with Marketing, Programmes, and International Teams to build powerful cases for support and share donor impact 
• Represent Philanthropy and Partnerships at Board level, offering insight, reporting, and influence 

Donor Management:

• Personally manage and grow a portfolio of significant donor relationships (major gifts of £25,000 to £1 million+) 

· Develop strategies to increase fundraising support for people related activities, including our need to drive overseas recruitment and take overall accountability for the staff income budget”.

We are seeking an Marketing and Communications Officer to join our team who would focus on our two years development strategy and supporting income generation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving and developing the communication and marketing activities to existing donors and attracting new donors, working with our Fundraising Manager. They will have the ability to inspire supporters and communicate the difference their support makes. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference and to be part of a small, friendly team of trustees who are passionate about improving lives of rural children in Ethiopia.

Location: Options for role to be site-based (Buckinghamshire or East Yorkshire), hybrid or home-based contract. Some out-of-hours work and regular travel will be required for donor engagement events and meetings.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking an ambitious and inspiring philanthropy leader to shape the charity’s high-value giving strategy, secure transformational gifts and to work closely with the Director of Income Generation and the CEO to deliver ambitious income growth.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. The Head of Philanthropy will play a central role in this growth, helping Hearing Dogs deliver their goals to diversify income, expand their philanthropy programme and increase engagement and impact.

The role will be responsible for developing and implementing a multi-year major donor strategy to grow income and build a robust pipeline of supporters. You will personally manage a portfolio or high-value prospects and donors, and will lead on bespoke cultivation and stewardship plans, ensuring that all the charity’s donor engagement is tailored, strategic and high-impact. The role also offers a rare chance to build your own high-performing team, recruiting, managing and supporting the development of Principal Gifts and Major Giving members of staff. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in personally securing six figure + gifts from individual donors, as well as a background in major donor fundraising, philanthropy or private wealth engagement.  You will have experience of working with senor stakeholders and possess strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of successfully establishing a philanthropy and special events function from scratch in a charity setting would be advantageous.
