About the opportunity
This is a temporary, casual opportunity at an upcoming pop-up shop in Bicester Village from 29th July - 25th August 2024. We require a Retail Manager, who will be responsible for the successful day-to-day running of the shop.
This includes opening and closing the store, tracking and reporting units and incoming, as well as managing volunteers and merchandising. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to lead and support the shop.
The Smart Works Shop is a key fundraising initiative, taking place throughout the year at various locations. The Shop brings together donations from brands and individuals, which are then sold in a premium shopping experience, at a discounted price. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Smart Works, supporting unemployed women with the clothing, coaching and confidence needed to get the job and transform their lives.
They must be able to speak confidently about the Smart Works service and the transformative power that customers are contributing to by purchasing items at the pop-up shop.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with demonstrable experience in retail and merchandising and experience of running a shop floor. If you are passionate about motivating a team and the mission of Smart Works, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the shop.
- Tracking daily units and reporting daily numbers to the Charity.
- Co-ordinating volunteers and retail assistants, supporting them to maintain the shop floor and assisting during busy periods.
- Merchandising and maintaining the shop floor, including bringing out fresh products.
- Ensuring personalised customer experience with brand and product knowledge.
- Lead on achieving sales goals and targets.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, ensuring the floor is organised at all times.
Skills you should have
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience in retail and merchandising.
- Experience in merchandising across retail categories such as fashion, accessories and lifestyle.
- Experience of using digital payment systems.
- Confident leading a small team, with experience coaching and supporting individuals to thrive in their role.
- Flexible can-do attitude and a good team player, with experience in achieving individual and team targets.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Programme Manager role
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Programme Manager(s) to join our existing Programme Team in September 2024 on a full or part-time basis (6-month fixed-term with potential to extend). As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Yes Futures programmes in-person, in our partner primary and secondary schools in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.
Main Responsibilities
You will be one of a small team of Programme Managers, dedicated to delivering excellent programmes which make a positive difference to the lives of students. The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager role are:
Programme delivery
- Responsible for the care and wellbeing of all students in your schools on the programme;
- Communicating with parents where necessary during the programme, by email, letter and telephone;
- Planning and delivering whole-group workshops for students;
- Planning and delivering information and celebration events for students and parents;
- Facilitating the in-person and online volunteer coaching team to deliver student coaching sessions. As well as delivering coaching sessions to students, where required;
- Developing business and charity partnerships for day trips;
- Planning and delivering the day trips included in the programme;
- Supporting the planning and delivery of the Into the Wild and World of Work day trips;
- Implementing discipline procedures, including reporting serious discipline issues;
- Implementing all necessary Health and Safety and Child Protection procedures, including recording and reporting any incidents;
- Ongoing communication with the school and Yes Futures head office regarding student engagement and progress.
Organisation and administration
- School onboarding, including ensuring that dates are planned, students are recruited and parental agreements are returned;
- Planning and organising the logistical elements of the programme (timetables, activities, sessions plans etc) through liaising with Yes Futures head office, school staff, businesses, charitable organisations and the rest of the Coaching team;
- Creation of Risk Assessments, parent letters and programme-related documents for schools;
- Sourcing materials needed for programme sessions, including lunches for trips;
- Assisting with finance and petty cash where required.
Management of volunteer Yes Futures Coaches
- Managing and developing the skills of your Coaching teams (usually 2-6 adults per school);
- Ongoing communication with your Coaching teams, to foster their enthusiasm and commitment;
- Supporting Coach recruitment for future programmes;
- Supporting the planning and delivery of training for Coaches;
- Maintaining accurate and secure records of Coaches’ personal information, absences, sickness and other relevant information.
Evaluation and reporting
- Facilitating the pre-, mid- and end of programme evaluations;
- Oversight and input of key student monitoring data and impact data;
- Debriefing and ongoing feedback collection from schools and Coaches;
- Ensure all work is carried out in an effective and timely manner to support continued high standards of the Yes Futures programmes.
Programme Managers will also be given the opportunity to support with other Head Office functions, including but not limited to:
- Strengthening our strategy, programme design and theory of change;
- Supporting the marketing of Yes Futures to new schools and customers;
- Developing our fundraising strategy through bid writing and other fundraising tasks;
- Establishing relationships with key partner organisations;
- Planning our future Ambassador offer and other pilot programmes.

HR & Operations
● Manage Coney’s operations, resources and materials to ensure our activities and processes are high-quality, fit for purpose and well-managed.
● Support the Directors to engender positive staff relations and good communication throughout the company, those representing it and its networks.
● Oversee Coney’s remote-working and office systems, including IT systems, schedules and other resources, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and cost-effective.

● Run payroll (including sending payslips and other pay documents, scheduling salary payments and reporting to HMRC) and ensure pensions, PAYE taxes and National Insurance are calculated and paid on time.
● Create and submit quarterly VAT returns using Quickbooks
Stakeholder Management & Fundraising
● Work alongside the JCEOs to maintain high level contact and dialogue with Coney’s key stakeholders.
● Manage Coney’s Friends scheme and support effective communication with funders.
● Alongside the rest of the core team, identify opportunities for fundraising, commercial projects and consultancy, building relationships and contributing to funding proposals as required.
Marketing & Communications
● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer and Executive Programme Director / JCEO to prepare and execute a marketing and communications plan – strategically positioning Coney’s work across communities and sectors.
● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer to ensure regular communication with Coney networks (newsletters, social media and other relationships) and produce effective communication and ticketing systems for events and projects as required.

Role Summary
As our Director of Philanthropy, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the transition to a more sustainable future where everyone chooses delicious, healthy food that is good for all humans, animals, and the planet. You will define and implement the fundraising strategy for the next three years. Responsibilities
1. Major Gifts, Corporates and Foundations

Identify and prepare proposals for new revenue streams (think outside the box!), with an emphasis on the climate-food nexus. This includes potential HNWIs as well as large institutions, corporates and climate foundations.

Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of major-donor and foundation income.

Identify suitable projects within the strategic plan to create the case for support for ProVeg countries and programmes, which fulfill donor preferences and foundation strategic priorities.

Oversee fundraising events for major donors, and assist the President in managing donor relationships.
2. Management & Leadership

Lead the International Fundraising team, setting annual goals, providing regular feedback, conducting annual performance reviews, and supporting continuous professional development.

Mentor country-specific Fundraising colleagues and support ProVeg's country revenue-generation strategies.

Qualifications
Required:

Minimum of five years’ experience in senior fundraising at a non-profit, preferably with an international focus. A similar or additional corporate background would also be useful.

Understanding of effective altruism, and up-to-date knowledge of European fundraising trends.

A track record of identifying and securing significant, multi-year funds from donors (minimum five to six-figures), particularly new donors and foundations.

Significant experience in researching and developing strong stakeholder relationships, as well as experience with writing concise reports.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including confident demeanor and experience in engaging with a diverse range of high-net-worth individuals.

Proficient CRM skills and familiarity with fundraising tracking tools and project management

About the Role
Reporting to Head of Fundraising and Communications, you'll play a crucial role in raising funds by engaging with SME's and the local community. The Youth Zone has developed a targeted funds infrastructure with live impact data established and ready to utilise in funding presentations. It costs £1.7 million a year to run, 90% of which is generated through voluntary donations of which this role will be aiming to contribute £200k in the first 2 years.
You will therefore play a vital role in keeping the charity financially sustainable through the development of local business and community fundraising. You will be given ample scope to test your creative ideas and drive forward income generation, supported by the Head of Fundraising and Communications, the Chief Executive and a forward thinking and engaged Board of Trustees.
About You
Being self-motivated and action orientated, you will be able to create and grow your own pool of potential supporters and thrive on 'making the ask'. As an enthusiastic ambassador, you'll be able to communicate this in an inspiring and tailored way and be comfortable in seeking and securing donations, whilst working alongside colleagues in the team to monitor and steward these donations appropriately.
Knowledge and experience:

We’re looking for a Country Manager who is, at heart, a peacebuilder. You will be someone willing to lead by your example, coaching, inspiring and giving technical support as you spend time with peacebuilding teams across the north of CAR, including three Hub Peacebuilding Managers in local offices in the borderlands, up to eight programme officers and over 300 local peacebuilders who form our Advisory Groups.
Living in Bangui, you’ll report directly to the Regional Director and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.
The needs in CAR are immense, and we need you to have the vision and motivation to look beyond programme delivery, as important as that is, and to identify new opportunities and new funding for additional programming. You’ll support the team as they design, develop and source funding for new work that will a deliver measurable change for peace.
You will be someone who is curious and keen to spend time with people in the borderlands, where conflict is fought and felt. You will also have the confidence and ability to be part of high-level meetings with ministers and ambassadors, amplifying voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based, conflict sensitive policy making.
Role Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for technical peacebuilding aspects of Concordis’ work in CAR
- Responsible for leading on all aspects of peacebuilding in delivering an ambitious but realistic borders programme to time and to budget, meeting all contractual requirements of the donor
- Responsible for providing managerial oversight in developing and delivering strategic work plans in accordance with donor log frames to achieve delivery of all activities and outcomes, reporting on these to the donor
- Develop opportunities to use the significant flexibility built into this contract to maximise impacts for peace, beyond pure contractual terms, negotiating these with the donor
- Visionary leadership with the staff team, key stakeholders and international donors to identify gaps in peacebuilding provision and to develop opportunities for future work that will meet identified needs, be locally owned and deliver measurable impact
Influence policymaking and advocacy
- Represent Concordis in CAR with high-level engagement with local, national, regional and international decision makers, using evidence from the programme to influence policymaking
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, then use this access to amplify voices that are often ignored, engaging with Government officials, Diplomatic staff, Regional bodies that support Central African countries (eg COMIFAC, ECCAS, CEMAC, OFAC etc), UN and multilateral agencies and humanitarian and developmental staff
- Participate actively in regional conferences and negotiations to ensure that the voices of people in the borderlands are heard, and that locally-led and conflict sensitive solutions are reflected in strategic decision-making
Responsible for strategic programme development
- Building and maintain relationships that may lead to new funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral and other institutional donors
- Provide strategic support to fundraising providing timely information to support the development of new bids and engaging directly with donors
Leadership responsibility in the Regional Team
- Member of the Central African Regional Senior Leadership Team and will lead the CAR Country Senior Leadership Team supported collaboratively by the CAR Finance Manager
- Responsible for line managing three Peacebuilding Hub Managers
- Responsible for giving coaching, mentoring and technical support to the peacebuilding team in CAR, inspiring them in their roles and focusing their efforts to deliver rapid and sustainable results, whilst ensuring that staff development needs are met
- Promote clear lines of communication between staff members and offices, across the Central African Regional programme and with staff in the UK. Lead or participate in a system of team meetings, one-to-ones and informal gatherings
- Responsible for ensuring that staff development needs are met including training and appraisals
- Responsible for ensuring that CAR project staff understand and adhere to staff safety, security policies and plans and that such plans are kept up to date. Closely monitor the security dynamics in target areas and report to the Regional Director on significant changes in the security context
- Work collaboratively with finance staff to manage project resources, prepare project budgets, review and monitor spending and submit regular reports to the donor
- Work with Regional Head of MEAL to prepare regular donor reports to the donor

What you will be doing
This role supports the delivery of our Individual Giving programme, specifically in support of our Puppy Sponsorship Scheme. The delivery of exceptional supporter care across multiple channels lies at the heart of the Supporter Services team and forms an integral part of the Individual Giving retention strategy. In many instances, you will be the first line of enquiry either by telephone, email, social media, or letter (and occasionally face-to-face) for Hearing Dogs’ supporters.
- Present a professional, positive, and proactive approach to supporter care and adherence to best practice regarding stewardship and supporter engagement.
- Be proactive in stewardship process improvement and development, maintaining up-to-date guidance notes for areas of your work.
- Ensure all interactions with supporters are logged in the CRM system and where appropriate passed on to the relevant team(s) in a timely manner.

The Digital Transformation Manager leads THET’s efforts to transform our own programmes of work and the way THET operates, and also that of the Health Partnership community to better incorporate and enable best practice in digital solutions.
