OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation is a registered educational charity, founded in 1996, that promotes inclusive spirituality and serves people of all faiths, and none. We train open-hearted adults to serve their communities as interfaith ministers, celebrants, and spiritual companions, supporting life’s important moments through ceremony, ritual, and compassionate care.

Trustees play a vital role in ensuring Edinburgh North East Foodbank meets its core purpose by overseeing the management and administration of the charity and ensuring that the foodbank has a clear strategy in line with our vision and goals.
What will you be doing?
Trustees have collective responsibilities for the oversight and development of the Charity in conformity with OSCR regulations and applicable law. The Trustees agree strategy and governance arrangements and work with the staff to deliver Edinburgh North East Foodbank services efficiently and effectively.
What being a Trustee Involves
We hold five Board meetings a year, normally the last Tuesday in the month from 6pm until 8pm, with our AGM being held in April/May.
Trustees are expected to attend the Board meetings either in person or remotely as often as possible, with everyone attending the AGM.
Trustees are not expected to attend the Foodbank frequently but are encouraged to visit from time-to-time to become familiar with the work of the Foodbank and to speak with staff and volunteers.
Trustees should make time to build up relationships with, get to know their fellow Trustees, staff and volunteers to foster a team spirit and understand the challenges that colleagues face and the responsibilities they carry.
Trustees should try to keep up with external developments and trends that might impact the work of the Charity. This will help with Board discussions and understand what could present as threat or opportunity for the Charity.
As a Board we need to be aware that the governance landscape is always changing. Trustees need to learn and develop and stay abreast of the new developments, best practice and legislation.
Governance
The Trustees must make sure that the Charity complies with its governing documents. (Charity Constitution) and complies with charity law requirements and regulations that apply.
Ultimate responsibility for the governing of Edinburgh North East Foodbank lies with the Trustees who must direct how it is managed and run. Trustees must act in the Charity’s best interest, manage its resources responsibly, act with reasonable skill and care, maintain oversight and make sure that it is working towards its charitable objectives.
It should be noted that some people may not act as a Trustee e.g. someone who is bankrupt or has an unspent conviction for offences involving dishonesty or deceit.
Trustees must declare if on any occasion they have a personal interest which may conflict with the interest of the charity.
What are we looking for?
We rely on the dedication and expertise of the people who volunteer to become board members. We welcome applications from people who have an interest in a society where everyone has the means to buy the essentials and so reduce the need for using food banks.
Skills and experience that are particularly useful are:
- Strategic Management

- Working with the Government both local and central.
Previous experience of being on a Board is useful but not essential.

CleanupUK is a small charity with big aspirations. We use the activity of litter-picking to support people living in disadvantaged areas to form litter-picking groups – not only to keep their neighbourhood clean but also to bring the community together.

As life becomes ever more difficult for migrants across London, the UK and the world, Waltham Forest Migrant Action (WFMA) are committed to fighting back in solidarity and supporting our fellow human beings who are often suffering in the most extreme of circumstances. Since 2013, we’ve run a weekly Drop-in Centre providing visitors a warm welcome, free advice on immigration, accommodation and welfare issues, and opportunities to socialise with the local community. Last year, we helped 366 people from 71 nationalities, and our numbers continue to grow. WFMA is currently in an exciting phase of development. In recent years, we have transformed from an all-volunteer organisation to having six part-time staff, navigating a period of sustainable growth.
The role
We are looking for 2-3 compassionate individuals with a strong interest in migrant justice to contribute to an organisation that centres migrant voices and experiences. Whether you bring experience in HR, marketing & communications, finance, legal, fundraising, operations, service delivery, or another area, your insight and guidance has the potential to strengthen our organisation. We welcome applicants from all ages and backgrounds, and we are open to first time Trustees!

Responsibilities specific to the Chair of the Board of Trustees Role
1. Strategic Leadership
·Lead the Board in setting the charity’s strategic direction and ensuring alignment with its vision, mission, and values.
·Facilitate regular review of strategic objectives and ensure that plans are delivered effectively by the Executive Director and their team.
2. Governance and Board Management
·Ensure effective governance in accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance and relevant legislation.
·Chair trustee meetings, encouraging collaborative and inclusive decision-making.
·Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and transparency across the organisation.
·Ensure the Board maintains appropriate skills, diversity, and succession plans.
3. Support to the Executive Director
·Provide guidance and support to the Executive Director, ensuring a clear distinction between strategic governance and operational delivery.
·Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and at least an annual performance review with the Executive Director.
·Act as a sounding board and mentor while maintaining appropriate oversight.
4. Compliance and Risk Management
·Ensure the charity operates within its legal and regulatory framework, including safeguarding, data protection, and financial controls.
·Oversee the risk management process, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
5. Advocacy and Representation
·Serve as a public ambassador for Paradise Cooperative, raising the profile of the charity at key events, stakeholder meetings, and in the media, as required.
·Build and sustain strategic partnerships and relationships that support the charity’s aims.
Wider Responsibilities (Shared with All Trustees)
·Support and provide advice on Paradise Cooperative’s purpose, vision, goals and activities.
·Approve operational strategies and policies and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
·Oversee Paradise Cooperative’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
·Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organization.
·Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
·Review and approve Paradise Cooperative’s financial statements.
·Provide support and challenge to Paradise Cooperative’s Executive Director in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.
·Keep abreast of changes in Paradise Cooperative’s operating environment.
·Contribute to regular reviews of Paradise Cooperative’s own governance.
·Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
·Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect Paradise Cooperative’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third-party interests.
·Contribute to the broader promotion of Paradise Cooperative’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.
As a small charity, there will be times when trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Board meetings. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, presenting externally, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.

Fresh Futures is a Kirklees-based charity aiming to improve lives and inspire change for vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people, adults, and families.

To achieve this, Fresh Futures focuses on four interwoven strands: Education, Health & Wellbeing, Employability & Skills, and Relationships.
What will you be doing?
Our trustees play an important role in making sure that the charity is run in the interests of the children, young people and families we support. They strategically oversee the management and administration of the organisation.
Trustees also ensure the charity has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team to enable the charity to grow and thrive, and through this, achieve our mission.
Trustees are asked to attend 6 meetings per year, of which four run virtually via Teams. In person meetings run twice a year and are face-to-face for a full day – these are always run at one of our sites in the Kirklees area. Trustees also have the opportunity to join one of our committees, for example, our finance committee.
What are we looking for?
We are looking to fill vacancies on our Trustee board and on our Finance and Governors sub committees.
Members of these committees do not necessarily have to also be Trustees. We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board.

Who We Are
The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation (DCF) is a registered charity that improves lives and empowers communities across Derbyshire through cricket. We also serve as the governing body for recreational cricket in Derbyshire – one of 39 county organisations working with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to support a network of grassroots clubs and leagues to develop and sustain the game. What’s involved?
As a Trustee of the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation you share ultimate responsibility for governing a charity and directing how it is managed and run, but the roles are largely “eyes-on, hands-off”, as our members of staff manage the day-to-day operational business of the DCF.
We have six Board meetings a year, typically of 2.5 hours duration. Board meetings are held on midweek evenings, start at 5.30pm, and are usually hosted at the Derbyshire CCC Central Co-Op County Ground in Derby. All our Board meetings have a hybrid format, so that Trustees can attend remotely via Teams if they need that flexibility.
Trustees are also expected to be a member of one of our Board committees, which will be aligned with their areas of interest or experience. This will typically involve attending a further 1-2 meetings per year. There may be further opportunities for Trustees to support our work or events, but we appreciate that the role is a voluntary commitment and respect that our Trustees will need to balance their time with other commitments.

The Diana Award is a charity legacy to Diana, Princess of Wales’ belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better. Since 1999, over 47,000 young people have been recognised with The Diana Award for making an outstanding difference in their communities’ across the globe.

THE ROLE OF A TRUSTEE
As a Trustee, you will be part of a Board that sets the strategic direction and ensures robust governance of the charity. Training and support will be provided for all new trustees.

RSPCA South London Branch
We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board. Overview of the Branch Trustee
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person, with a background in retail, partnerships, corporate fundraising, and grants, who could devote their time to volunteer as a trustee for our Branch.
Alongside passing on your expertise, this opportunity will give you the chance to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. You will serve on the governing body of the charity and be instrumental, alongside fellow trustees, in the running of the Branch and setting out both the short and long term aims.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether the trustee takes on additional duties.
About the RSPCA
Founded in 1824 we have been saving animals for almost 200 years and are proud to be the oldest welfare charity around. The RSPCA South London Branch
The South London Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Trustee
- Assist the Branch Manager in maximising the profitability of the Branch’s three charity shops.
- Work with the Branch Manager to explore any potential for expanding the retail operation by researching the potential for further charity shops.
- Support the Branch Manager in establishing the Branch’s e-commerce operation via online sales platforms such as eBay.
- Work with other trustees, the Branch health and safety provider and the Branch Manager to ensure the charity shops meet health and safety standards.

We are the leading organisation representing EU citizens in the UK. Our vision is a world where EU citizens can thrive, reach their potential and have an equal voice in UK society. What does the role involve?
You will join a small board of professionals committed to helping EU citizens in the UK. - Knowledge of and ability to carry out the core responsibilities of being a director (please note that onboarding and support is available to new Board members, particularly those who have not served on a Board before)
- Timeliness and clarity in your communication on and around meetings or projects
- Strategic vision: an ability to think about the ‘bigger picture’ and longer term (5 years ahead) as well as the ‘here and now’
- A willingness to act as an ambassador for the3million, promoting our work to friends and colleagues
- An ability to work as a member of a team, to comment, challenge or question in a way that is helpful, supportive and constructive
- A good sense of judgement
Qualification and experience
You will ideally have one or more of the following:
- Experience of working in senior teams, preferably at board level;
- Experience of volunteering/working in the third sector;
- Fundraising;
- HR;
- Community organising;
- Safeguarding;
- Racial justice;
- Experience working in the migration field would be an advantage.

Time commitment
- A two hour evening board meeting every two months (online)
- Regular discussion and meeting with fellow directors (online)
- Follow up to meetings – reading and commenting on minutes, carrying out any agreed actions.
- One to two away-days per year (in-person);

- Must be currently based in the UK
- Not bankrupt
- Subject to satisfactory DBS check and references
- Not excluded by Companies House or Charity Commission
- Conflicts of interest that would be so significant as to undermine the role in general, such as being a member of a group that discriminated against people based on gender, ethnicity or nationality.
