Fundraising Manager (Team Leader)
Time commitment: 4 hours per week (flexible)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced, friendly, and highly organised Volunteer Fundraising Manager to lead our fundraising function and help us deliver a clear, consistent, and timely pipeline of income opportunities.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will work closely with the Director to shape and manage our fundraising strategy, prioritise opportunities, and coordinate a small team of fundraising volunteers.
Please note: This role is not responsible for writing full applications. Instead, you will focus on strategy, coordination, quality assurance, and momentum. You will support the team by reviewing drafts, giving clear feedback, and ensuring applications are aligned with our charity’s mission and submitted on time.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and maintain an effective fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Director
- Guide and support a team of around five fundraising volunteers, setting priorities and keeping everyone on track
- Manage the fundraising pipeline (opportunities, deadlines, progress tracking, and follow-ups)
- Provide timely responses to team questions and unblock issues quickly
- Review and improve fundraising drafts (structure, clarity, alignment, tone, completeness, and fit with funder criteria)
- Ensure applications and supporting documents are consistent, accurate, and submitted within deadlines
- Coordinate light-touch check-ins, task allocation, and updates (weekly or fortnightly, as agreed)
- Help improve systems and templates so the team can work efficiently (for example trackers, folder structure, and standard wording)
Who we’re looking for
Essential
- Proven experience in fundraising (charity, community interest, education, health, environment, or similar)
- Strong understanding of what makes a successful grant or fundraising case, and how to align it to funder criteria
- Confident leading and supporting a small team, with a collaborative and encouraging style
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback
- Highly organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Able to commit around 4 hours per week on an ongoing basis
Desirable
- Experience managing a fundraising pipeline or CRM, or maintaining trackers and workflows
- Experience developing fundraising strategy and prioritisation
- Familiarity with UK trusts and foundations, corporate giving, or community fundraising

Our Top Priorities
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Fundraising Trustee to work with the staff and Board to develop and build the existing fundraising strategy and capability of this small but rapidly growing national charity to the next step in realising our ambition, whilst embedding good governance, and strengthening the charity’s financial position. As a young charity we still need practical, hands on support from the trustees in their area of expertise while we work to mature into an organisation where the trustees can focus on a purely governance role.
Broad Description of Role
· Contribute actively as a member of the Board of Trustees to provide strategic direction, set overall strategy and policy, set targets and evaluate performance.
· Oversee all fundraising and ensure it is undertaken legally, honestly and accountably. Adhering to the Fundraising Regulator guidelines.
· Work with the CEO, Head of Marketing & Fundraising, Fundraising Manager and Board of Trustees to develop and implement a fundraising strategy for the charity to strengthen our financial sustainability, including maintaining existing donors and developing new funding streams.
· Use pre-existing networks to identify funding opportunities and facilitate introductions as well as strengthening relationships with existing donors and supporters.
· Support the development of a HNW network which will take some creativity in the current climate.
· Oversee the development and use of campaigns, social media and celebrity engagement so support income generation.
· Ensure donor reporting and compliance with fundraising legislation.
Who we’re looking for - knowledge and experience
· Demonstrable experience of fundraising at a senior level within the Third Sector.
· A thorough understanding of the Third Sector, Charity Commission legislation, charity governance and the Fundraising Regulator’s guidelines.
· Awareness of the challenges a small charity can face in developing long term funding streams.
· Experience of donor cultivation and journey.
· Experience of a diverse range of funding streams such as trust and foundations, corporate giving, HNW, individual giving and commercial income generation.
· Excellent networking, influencing and communication skills.
· Active support of fundraising programme.
· Help to create a culture of philanthropy.
Input and Time Commitment:
· A time commitment of 2-4 hours a month would be expected.
· Trustees are expected to be available for regular consultation and input on a range of issues in between meetings, usually via email.
· Attend at least one outreach a year.
· Attend virtual quarterly board meetings, held on third Tuesday of January, April, July, October at 6pm. Meetings duration approx 1 – 2 hours.
o Papers for the meeting are sent the week prior and Trustees must ensure they have read and understood all the information in advance in order to participate fully.
· Attend annual conference – usually 2 days in London.
· Attend in-person annual strategic review, usually half a day, in London.
· Training will be provided to give a good understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of trustees.

We’re looking for four fundraising project volunteers, over the age of 18 years old.
You’ll be volunteering a few hours per week, but we are flexible depending on your availability.

We are seeking someone with understanding or experience of community and grant fundraising to join our board. The role involves leading our fundraising sub committee and providing a sounding board for our fundraising manager to deliver our fundraising strategy.
What will you be doing?
Specific to the fundraising lead trustee role, your responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the fundraising sub committee.
- Work alongside the board to plan what level of funds must be raised to ensure the effective running of the charity.
- Be a sounding board for, and provide oversight of our fundraising manager.
- Lead on the board’s direct engagement with local fund-raising opportunities.
- Provide feedback to the fundraising manager.
What are we looking for?

- An understanding of, and commitment to, the work of the Glasgow South West Foodbank.
- Understanding of, and passion for, fundraising.
- An ability to use that understanding to lead the fundraising sub committee and engage with the fundraising manager in a supportive and confident manner.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The difference you will make to cats and people
As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.
