In Africa, 74.2% of over 1.4 billion people are below 35 years, with over 450 million people between 15 and 34 years. No doubt, this is an active age when most young people start dating and make the choice of a life partner. Most singles face the challenge of finding a compatible partner, while married couples battle personality incompatibility and irreconcilable differences, which hurt and ruin a once blissful relationship. Research revealed that victims of a negative relationship exhibit lower self-worth and confidence, and also experience self-doubt, helplessness, fear, anxiety, depression, insecurity, paranoia, and decreased motivation and productivity in the workplace.
Baddhia is helping people find compatible partners, create exciting moments, strengthen their intimacy, and build healthy lifelong romantic relationships.

Only 5-15% of amputees in LMIC receive proper care today. Budgets are present, but old technology and business models (NGO donation) don't lead to the needed scaling, leaving the large majority stranded without a solution. Limb-loss has a severe impact on a patients life, as simple activities like walking, working, going to school, are challenging. The available solutions are not affordable, hard to access as traveling to a hospital is hard, and often of poor quality.
Ugani developed the lowest cost high-quality prosthetic on the market. By leveraging digital 3D tech, our solution is not only comfortable, it is also affordable and very quick and easy to deliver. Next to prosthetics, all types of orthotics can be made using the same workflow. The digital process allows for very quick production, and a remote assistance, vital for patients living in remote areas.

Indiscriminate accumulation of material items common with Africans/Nigerians hitherto leading to household excesses that are often dilapidated over time and indiscriminately disposed improperly, causing harm to the environment. Items that could be repurposed, gifted, shared with others in need, that would mean extending item lifecycle and preservation of the planet in the long run.
We educate on material accumulation which leads to short and long term consequences of filled landfills also locally educating on indiscriminate item disposal which leads to blocked drainages, damaged roads and eventual environmental flooding. While we encourage the public to embrace goodwill, sharing and repurposing items that could have been hitherto indiscriminately disposed through our platform and also partnering, supporting other change makers doing outreaches, recycling, repurposing with received items to reach even wider households and lengthen items lifecycle.

Bridge the Gap - Ending Digital Poverty
We aim to address the digital poverty and bridge the gap by empowering local families and supporting them with technology equipment. We aim to enable a network of parents to create change within their own local community, in turn inspiring other parents and families to be the change they want to see.
We provide a digital device to children and their families to access online resources. We offer a referral service where families can receive additional support around their needs. A befriending service, where families can share their concerns and get access to a wider network of support and a tutoring programme which helps children who has fallen behind in their studies to get extra help in their studies.

We address the challenges of the lack of unadulterated, gluten-free and allergy free food products in the market, seeing that there are more than 100 000 cases of gluten intolerance per year. We also address the fact that post-harvest loss and knowledge gaps on post-harvest methods exist.
We help to solve those challenges by building a holistic and inclusive African Super-foods value chain to fight food insecurity, hunger and diseases. This is done through capacity building and technical assistance, processing and value addition training as well as access to markets. We partner with community heads and women leaders to identify, profile smallholder farmers, women and youth; we train them on agri-entrepreneural skills, post-harvest methods and techniques, business, financial and marketing skills. For example, we train on different methods of extending the life of staple crops such as plantains, sweet potatoes, etc. by processing them into flours, chips, puree, boiled, fried, pastries and much more. This way we provide beneficiaries with quality education, technical support, reduce post-harvest losses and facilitate market access.

The world at large are suffering from a chilling surge in mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD and suicide. Underserved communities and developing nations also need help and sometimes don't have access to teachers, workshops or trainings that are inclusive and affordable, or effective and relevant. Loneliness is also a pervasive problem globally even as digital connectivity expands, leading to worsening mental health outcomes.
We want to see the mental health arena transform by helping more people integrate tools like mindfulness, meditation and stress reduction into their daily lives so they can rediscover their power and personal agency. Our programs will help create more skilled teachers where they are needed, or guides that are accessible via internet. The community that CNTRD Wellness is building for seekers and teachers will serve to nourish and support people who feel isolated or low on hope and give them tools to help themselves heal and thrive. We also plan to create scholarships and free trainings and workshops focused on the most vulnerable communities.

Almost all of us wake up every morning and use chemical deodorant in plastic. Between us, we will throw away 26 million deodorants EVERY DAY. Current refillable options still force users to compromise on how they like to use or expect deodorant to work, stunting uptake and retention of customers.
Rollr's zero waste refills offer customers a way to deodorise that reduces packaging, weight and co2 by 95% compared to normal deodorants and 80% compared to any competitor. This is whilst the design of the bottle and formulation has been designed over three years with the aim of maximising uptake and retention so that people keep using Rollr forever and make the most of our refill's positive impact.

International development decisions are often made in the Global North excluding people from the Global South. Gender, disability, race and class intersect with other factors and drive inequality. Discrimination harms women and marginalised groups, limiting their well-being, agency, access to leadership positions, assets and income and control over their own bodies. People living in poverty face complex barriers to constructing routes out of poverty. Policies are not always designed with them in mind and economic growth is not always enough.
We host a podcast to bring together practitioners, thinkers, activists to share ideas and identify entry points for practical action. We launch an online training programme for development professionals in 2024. We conduct research, deliver evidence-based policy engagement and engage with social movements striving to challenge patriarchy, enhance equity and drive improved well-being for women and men. We identify the barriers poor people face, describe them to policy makers and seek to influence policy and practice so that bottom up growth can deliver routes out of poverty for the poorest people.

About 10 percent of Uganda’s working-age population is either unemployed or under-employed with women emerging as worst off, a new report has revealed. According to the Uganda National Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) report released on Thursday, out of the more than 15.5 million national labour force (14-64 years), 269, 000 are jobless and over 1.4 million people are underemployed. According to the survey, three out of every five unemployed persons are women with the urban areas (70 per cent) depicting a higher proportion compared to the rural areas (42 per cent). The number of hours spent by working women in non-economic activities (26 hours per week) was almost four times that spent by men (7 hours). Findings further indicate that women outnumber men in both self-employment and individuals working as contributing family workers. One third of the working population engaged in wage employment are women.
We provide a space and platform for training, skilling, and accelerating women in male-dominated fields that usually pay instantly and better as compared to female-dominated jobs that tend to pay less and the training phase is never paid for unlike male-dominated jobs like driving boda boda, driving trucks, solar panel installation, house construction and many others where you are paid as you train every day until you get all the necessary job skills.

Sustainable Alternatives Hub
In Uganda, the total unemployed persons in the country is 64 percent. Given the rapid growth of the Ugandan population—three-quarters of the population are below the age of 30 years , 82% of these are unemployed . Now imagine people with disabilities , after thinking about women and girls with disabilities : People with disabilities face challenges in the labor markets. There is a substantial gap between integrating people with disabilities into the labor force and their actual participation levels. That means women with disabilities are more than twice as likely to be unemployed than are their non-disabled counterparts. The fact is that the youth are getting better educated through higher access to primary and secondary education, a stronger focus on job creation for this group of people cannot be overemphasized. But yet the strongest focus for people living with disabilities is very urgent.
Sustainable Alternatives Hub empowers unemployed youth & women living with disabilities in Uganda to solve their everyday community challenges and turn them into economic opportunities that benefit individuals, the community and the environment through incubation, investment and acceleration of social innovations in the economic development of women, green economy, waste management and digitalization.
