We are looking for a Regional Fundraiser to join our Poppyscotland team to work across the East of Scotland.
You will work with the team of Regional Fundraisers with your main responsibility being to develop, implement and grow supporter-led fundraising across the East of Scotland. You will deliver regional fundraising activities, and recruit and support fundraising volunteers ensuring they have a great experience whilst fundraising for Poppyscotland. A critical part of this role is also to support our volunteer Scottish Poppy Appeal Area Organisers to maximise their local Poppy Appeal incomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Develop, implement and monitor effective operational plans for supporter-led fundraising activities throughout the East of Scotland
· Management and production of Regional fundraising events working with the local businesses and volunteers
· Mentor Poppy Appeal Area Organisers to maximise collections
· Assist with the recruitment, development and training of volunteers
· Undertake fundraising administration duties including maintaining records of all activities, filing, correspondence post, financial reporting and banking
· Developing existing relationships and gaining new relationships with businesses and volunteers in their area through business development management

This role is working Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with some flexibility required dependant on activity.

Children’s online safety is both an important and an urgent issue and the need for our unique work here at Breck Foundation is greater now than ever. The primary purpose of this role is to help children and young people take practical steps to become more digitally resilient and be safer online. Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.
Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. With 98% of young people now active internet users, current and future generations grow up having to navigate new and evolving digital dangers. We are committed to making the internet a place where children can live, play, and thrive in safety. We are helping young people reclaim the internet.
Training: All necessary training will be provided, and time spent in training will be compensated.
More specifically, the post holders will:
• Research speaking opportunities and engage/build sustainable relationships with schools and other youth spaces with the aim of securing speaking engagements (known as bookings).
• Work with the Breck Foundation team to set up all new speaking engagements and ensure set communication processes are met and all calendar entries completed.
• Maintain relationships with named contacts within schools and other youth spaces with a view to achieving repeat bookings.
• Where practical, to attend and deliver bookings at different locations using the Foundation’s standardised PowerPoint presentations, with a commitment to educate/raise awareness among young people, staff, parents & carers about the dangers young people face from online grooming through gaming and social media and other online harms. School Engagement Officer (Freelance) Role Description
• Where impractical to deliver bookings secured, to work with the Foundation team to ensure that the booking is assigned appropriately and delivered to a high standard.
• Represent the Foundation in a professional manner and to protect and advance the Foundation’s profile in all engagements, including to work collaboratively with other colleagues to identify new ways to raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and to help expand their scope, reach and geographical coverage and income generation capabilities.
• If delivering bookings, carryout pre- and post-delivery engagements, including sharing pre and post presentation packs with schools and actively seeking feedback, testimonials and even Vox Pops where possible; and to log these on Salesforce.
• Reporting of data to contribute to organisational impact, including using surveys to document statistics for each engagement, for example number of pupils reached by age group.
• Log all notable interactions with schools and other organisation and institutions in the relevant organisation’s Salesforce account to enable the team to avoid duplication and maintain professionalism in our engagements with them.
• Provide ad hoc services which may be requested from time to time.

About the role
This is an exciting time to join Myeloma UK as we launch our new five year strategy.
The post holder will be responsible for developing evidence led scientific communications that help engage new audiences as we aim to reach new people as part of our strategic goals. You will use your science communication expertise to bring our research and scientific information to life for a variety of audiences from people affected by myeloma to health care professionals as well as scientists and researchers.
You will support other teams across Myeloma UK by helping to develop engaging evidence led impactful communications that can be used for appeals, case for support and other activities. You’ll also work with our research and health care professional community to engage and involve them in our communications activities.

We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for a Finance & Admin Officer to support our growing operational workflows.
How you will make a difference
Your role will enable smooth and efficient financial and administrative workflows at GFI Europe. Reporting to the Head of Operations, your work will fall under the following categories:
50% of time – Payment processing and bookkeeping
- Making payments correctly and on time with respect to invoices, direct debit setup, expense reimbursements, as well as salaries and payroll taxes.
- Day-to-day bookkeeping, including registering journal entries and all financial transactions in our accounting software (currently Quickbooks), and supporting monthly reconciliations.
- Coordinating the calculation and payment of quarterly reverse-charged cross-border VAT payments.
- Where there are opportunities for improvement, working in partnership with colleagues from the Operations team to implement systems that facilitate easier and more efficient payment processes.
25% of time – Budget forecast and reporting
- Forecasting regular and recurring expenses for the annual budgeting process and for periodic budget reviews.
- Preparing monthly updates on budget spending per department / project.
- Collaborating with our Development team to track and report against restricted donations.
- Organising information needed for the Belgium annual financial audit process as well as for UK financial reporting.
25% of time – General administration
- Supporting governance, compliance and reporting for our Belgium entity, as well as the UK branch of GFI Europe and potentially other entities in the future.
- Supporting other departments with contract administration by inputting partnership data in templates, filling in relevant forms, coordinating signatures, organising and keeping track of finalised agreements.
- Performing other tasks as required as a member of our small, dynamic team.
Who we’re looking for
You must have:
- A passion for GFI’s philosophy and mission.
- Attention to detail and commitment to deadlines: ensuring accurate and timely work, particularly with respect to numbers and entity-related information.
- Financial knowledge: good understanding of payment workflows and bookkeeping, having previously applied them in an administrative or finance-related role.
- Spreadsheet savviness: leveraging Excel and / or Google Sheets for financial analysis, reporting and forecasting purposes.
- Ability to communicate financial information in a clear and simple manner: establishing the right level and format to share or ask for financial information within the team, as well as being able to address any questions that come up in a clear and simple manner.
- High degree of organisation and efficiency: running financial and administrative processes effectively, addressing challenges as they come up, and ensuring accurate and efficient organisation of documents and information.
- Excellent people skills: building strong, collaborative and positive relationships, and working well with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple cultures.
- Adaptability: openness to execute diverse financial and administrative tasks as they occur whilst maintaining the quality of recurring responsibilities; openness and a positive response to varying cultural norms and perspectives.
- Openness to DEI principles: an affinity with our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and with maintaining our welcoming and supportive culture.
- Tech savviness: comfort using various software tools and platforms in a remote workplace, and a willingness to learn new systems. Training and support in Google Workspace, Quickbooks and Asana will be provided.
- Language skills: ability to work effectively in English.
It would be an advantage to have some or all of the following attributes, but none of them are prerequisites, and we welcome applications from candidates without any or all of them:

Benefits and the fine print
- Terms of employment: Part-time (27-30 hours / week). Flexible working hours.
- Location: We can consider applicants based in the UK or Belgium. This is a remote role, and you will be able to work from home, or anywhere you choose (within the UK or Belgium). We are happy to consider supporting costs for co-working to enable you to work from an office if you wish. The whole GFI Europe team aims to get together in person approximately twice per year for around 3-5 days at a time. Travel costs will be covered by GFI Europe within our travel policy.
- Salary and benefits: The salary and benefits package for all of our roles are researched and benchmarked based on similar nonprofit roles in the country/location of hire. Full-time (to be pro-rated) ranges (total amounts received in gross salary plus benefits including home-working allowance) are:
- €2,500 – 3,000 monthly if based in Belgium, plus 13th month and holiday pay
- £31,600 – 36,000 annually if based in the UK
- Right to work requirements: The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the country where they are based, and to be able to travel within the EU.
