Position title: Finance Manager
Reports to: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Salary: £38,000 pa (rising to £40,000 upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period)
Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week (with a possibility to negotiate some flexibility)
Location: Hybrid working between the DSWF Shalford Office, GU4 8JU (2 days per week), home (3 days per week) and occasionally London

The role will report to the CFO and work closely with the Senior Management Team to support the delivery of DSWF’s broad range of objectives across our Conservation, Education and Art strategic pillars. DSWF is a small organisation with a large portfolio of activities, and as such, this is a broad role that will work across the board with all team members to ensure an organised and efficient finance function.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Administration
· Maintain all financial records and data accurately and within agreed systems outlined in the DSWF Financial Handbook’s processes and controls
· Maintain up to date records on the finance system (Sage 50)
· Monitor and record income from all sources and ensure accurate and timely recording, including fund allocations
· With the fundraising team, ensure accurate and timely recording of income into the Raiser’s Edge CRM
· Daily reconciliation of all bank, control and intercompany accounts to Sage
· Banking of cheques and petty cash control in a timely manner
· Maintain the purchase ledger including receipt of invoices and expense claims, authorisations, cost coding and posting into the Sage system
· Process all bank payments, card payments and direct debits
· With the CFO, provide support to the Conservation team in analysing project financial reports, making grant payments and preparing financial reports for donors
· Liaise with the Art team over the production of sales invoices for the subsidiary Trading company as well as processing of e-commerce and offline sales
· Provide support to the fundraising team in the financial elements of event planning (including hardware and processes for receiving income at events) and producing full financial reconciliations and ROI reporting at the conclusion of each event
· With the CFO, provide support to the fundraising team in producing budgets for applications for funding
· Manage the negotiation of card and transaction fees with payment providers
· Complete month end accounts checklist and relevant journals to trial balance
· With the CFO, prepare monthly management accounts for SMT and staff
· Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for the charity (using partial exemption principles) and the trading subsidiary
· Liaise with the fundraising team to ensure gift aid is maximised for every income stream and produce and submit gift aid claims on a monthly basis
Budget Management
· Support the preparation of the annual income and expenditure budgets
· Ensure income and costs are allocated correctly per agreed budget and highlight areas of variance
Annual Audit
· Preparation of papers for annual audit in conjunction with the CFO
· During audit be the main contact for collating all documentation and samples requested by auditors
Financial control systems
· Ensure financial policies and processes are fit for purpose, developing new ones where appropriate and deriving and implementing improvements to existing ones

About the Role

You are a natural relationship manager with high emotional intelligence and a proven track record of managing teams with a professional, enabling style.

You are self-motivated, tenacious, and solutions focussed.

There will be opportunities to visit our projects overseas and you will be comfortable to travel for up to two weeks at a time when these opportunities arise.

Recruitment, retention, and belonging
- Build a L'Arche-wide focus on belonging, wellbeing and employee retention.
- Oversee recruitment strategy and processes across l'Arche.
- Lead on workforces strategy, pay and rewards.
- Support L'Arche Communities to welcome a new generation of volunteers and friends.
- Lead employee and volunteer engagement, and build a culture of co-creation, ownership, and voice for everyone.
Learning, development, and formation
- Oversee co-production and roll-out of a new Values, Skills and Behaviours Framework.
- Lead a new initiative on line management skills and culture.
- Oversee the national Learning and Development team in providing central programmes for assistant and leader induction and leadership development.
- Support Communities to identify and develop future leaders.
- Oversee development and implementation of an overall strategy for learning, development, and formation.
HR structures, strategy, and services
- Ensure L'Arche has the skills, policies, systems, and information for consistently good and compliant HR services and line management.
- Review and lead people functions across L'Arche, to ensure clear, coherent, and cost-effective HR services.
- Manage the HR team, Learning and Development team, and national HR and L&D budgets.
- Oversee the accuracy and relevance of admin and data systems.
- Oversee HR employee relations and whistleblowing across l'Arche.
Leadership
- Champion the mission of L'Arche and model our values.
- Contribute expertise on HR, inclusion, employment law and learning and development to wider discussions.
- Maximise the voice, power, and engagement of employees and of people with learning disabilities.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children a hope and a future. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our award winning (Sunday Times Best Not for Profit to work for) team as Supporter Development Fundraising Lead.
The Supporter Development Fundraising Lead will play a crucial role. We are looking for a high energy, passionate fundraiser who is highly relational. You will work towards the income targets including regular, one off and mission pot donations. In addition, you will understand goals that work together with income, including acquisition and stewardship targets, applying your strong knowledge of the Code of Fundraising Practice across all our activities and ensure we work in a compliant way.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with fundraising methods including prospecting, research, making initial contact, and growing a connection to our movement through one-to-one conversations and other communications channels. We’re looking for somebody who is highly organised and able to deliver events from concept to finish. You will also be a team player, able to engage and motivate other team members to get on board with fundraising and bring their expertise to the process.

We are a small organization with a culture of ‘can do’ and everyone mucking in. We currently do not have a fundraising team but anticipate the Head of Fundraising will build such a team on the back of increased income generation.
Your role: In this role, the fundraiser will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to identify fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, the fundraiser will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the Commonwork Trust closer to its financial goals.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organised with a strong track record of successful fundraising. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of the Commonwork Trust and has exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategising and delivering on new ones.
We would love to hear from you if you have:

Fundraising experience – you will have at least three years of experience at developing a fundraising strategy and understanding how different income streams operate with a strong track record in securing income

Demonstrable experience in securing funding – you will have experience in identifying key voluntary income streams and securing funding support from trusts and foundations, and be comfortable with ‘making the ask’ of wealthy individuals

Grant funding – you will have a strong track record of identifying, securing and monitoring grant funding.

Communication skills – you will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Leadership skills – you will have experience in leading and motivating colleagues and volunteers

Charity experience – you will have worked in the charitable sector, preferably with a focus on environmental issues and have an understanding of how a mission-based organisation operates and the wider sector considerations that a charity operates within

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising would be a bonus

Role Summary
As our Director of Philanthropy, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the transition to a more sustainable future where everyone chooses delicious, healthy food that is good for all humans, animals, and the planet. You will define and implement the fundraising strategy for the next three years. By implementing effective giving strategies of key stakeholders in Europe and beyond, you will support their ambition to create a better world.
Your key responsibilities will include cultivating relationships with existing and new major donors, Trusts and Foundations, particularly in the areas of climate and health. You will also engage mid-value supporters and relevant stakeholders, including the corporate sector. You will lead a small global development team and support ProVeg's country fundraising strategies. Apart from several important long-term and new major donors and foundations, ProVeg International does not have a large supporter database. It will be your responsibility to identify and develop growth strategies.
The ideal candidate will be a confident fundraiser with broad experience building strong relationships with, and securing funding from, major donors/HNWI, trusts and foundations, and corporate donors within environmental or other international organisations.

Responsibilities
1. Major Gifts, Corporates and Foundations

Identify and prepare proposals for new revenue streams (think outside the box!), with an emphasis on the climate-food nexus. This includes potential HNWIs as well as large institutions, corporates and climate foundations.

Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of major-donor and foundation income.
-
Identify suitable projects within the strategic plan to create the case for support for ProVeg countries and programmes, which fulfill donor preferences and foundation strategic priorities.

Oversee fundraising events for major donors, and assist the President in managing donor relationships.
2. Management & Leadership

Lead the International Fundraising team, setting annual goals, providing regular feedback, conducting annual performance reviews, and supporting continuous professional development.

Mentor country-specific Fundraising colleagues and support ProVeg's country revenue-generation strategies.
3. Development Planning

Design, develop, and implement a resource mobilization and cultivation strategy for one and three-year periods in collaboration with the President and CEO
Qualifications
Required:
-
Minimum of five years’ experience in senior fundraising at a non-profit, preferably with an international focus. A similar or additional corporate background would also be useful.

Understanding of effective altruism, and up-to-date knowledge of European fundraising trends.
-
A track record of identifying and securing significant, multi-year funds from donors (minimum five to six-figures), particularly new donors and foundations.

Significant experience in researching and developing strong stakeholder relationships, as well as experience with writing concise reports.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including confident demeanor and experience in engaging with a diverse range of high-net-worth individuals.

Proficient CRM skills and familiarity with fundraising tracking tools and project management

Willingness to travel, approximately six times per year.

Strong motivation to support the plant-based movement.

Knowledge and understanding of the global food-system transition towards alternative proteins.
