COMMUNITY HUB LEADER

Full-time (40 hours per week, 1 FTE), Permanent Contract
Salary: £35,217 per annum
Oasis is looking for someone who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to become the next Community Hub Leader at Woodview, Birmingham.
The post holder will lead the development of the Hub, situated on the periphery of central Birmingham, serving the community of the Woodview estate, supporting the Oasis Academy and wider local community. The role will hold the vision of integrated community delivery, which will include a range of projects such as family support, volunteering, advice and support, community events.
This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the hub charity, ensuring the youth and community work supports the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.
Some of the specific duties of this role include:
· Establishment and coordination of a range of services such as family support, holiday provision, volunteering and community empowerment projects.
· Building supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups.
· Leading strategic development (e.g. comms, income generation, MEL)
· Planning, resource and coordinate the community plan, measuring impact.
· Working closely with the academy safeguarding team on Early Help and family support.
· Developing a team that can grow an Oasis Movement (e.g. engaging staff, volunteers and community workers).
This is very much a relational and project management role. As such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
· Experience of leading community delivery and growing projects from start-up phase.
· Innovative use of resources and budget management to maximise funding.
· A thorough knowledge and understanding community work.
· An education to degree level or equivalent and /or relevant professional qualification.

It needs a highly competent, confident, organised and efficient individual who supports the SMC’s mission but loves running the operations behind the scenes. The successful candidate will be a calm, self-sufficient problem solver who makes the charity run smoothly and who takes satisfaction from ensuring that the team of energetic, dynamic press officers can make a difference to science in the media every day.
The Head of Operations and Governance is a key member of senior staff. You will be either a practised operations specialist looking for a new challenge or someone with relevant experience looking to step up to their first role leading operations. In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for financial management, fundraising admin, preparation of annual accounts and bookkeeping
- Support the CEO in fundraising initiatives and project admin
- Provide the operational underpinning for the Centre ensuring the smooth running of IT, events, contracts and all office systems
- Act as secretariat to the Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee, Remuneration Committee and Audit and Risk Committee
- Guide the governance of the charity and complete statutory reporting.
You must be highly organised and have a clear head for numbers and systems. Often working under your own steam and multitasking to tight deadlines, you will need to be efficient and committed to the unique needs of this role without being drawn into the science and media activities of the Centre.
Experience of the charity sector, finance and/or governance is an advantage.
You must have the right to work in the UK. We cannot provide visa sponsorship.
Starting salary: £41,400-£56,700 depending on experience, with an annual performance-related pay increase

The External Relations (ER) unit comprises four complementary functions: Private Fundraising, Marketing & Mobilization, Policy & Advocacy and Operations & Analytics. The Purpose of the Role
As Director of Communications, UK, you lead IRC UK’s core communications strategy with the objectives of growing our profile, influencing policy, driving income, and building our reputation. This is done by taking a strategic approach to generating effective messaging for cross-team use, creatively collaborating to produce cut-through external products across media and digital channels, and generating top tier media coverage in collaboration with communications, advocacy and fundraising colleagues globally. In this role you will be expected to use expert judgment to manage IRC UK’s reputation, as well as ensure media and digital outputs protect clients, staff and programming from harm.
The Director will report to the UK Executive Director and the Acting Senior Director of Global Public Affairs. Scope and Authority
Authority:
●The role holder sets strategic direction for UK communications, with a focus on earned media, public advocacy and organic digital.
●The role oversees the UK comms operational budget, with access to the Global External Relations budget.
●The role has the authority to brief journalists with agreed messaging and act as spokesperson for the organisation.
●The Director will line manage the communications team and other positions when required.

Key Working Relationships

Strategic Direction
●Raise IRC UK's profile, income, influence and brand in the UK market by developing and delivering a 360 comprehensive communications & marketing strategy that reaches target audiences, attracts new supporters, and connects supporters with IRC clients.
●Partner with global external relations leadership to set Key Performance Indicators for achieving the strategy, and drive and monitor progress towards them with the support of your team.

Team Management & Stakeholder engagement

●Develop, commission and drive creative cut-through tactics and products, from revealing IRC research and analysis to emergency media briefings.
●Secure top tier media coverage of IRC’s work, solutions and innovation, balancing mentions with long-form/features and profiles.

●Build expertise on current and potential issues in the humanitarian NGO arena via research and monitoring of national media and competitors and in liaison with global colleagues.

Experience

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Researcher to join the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health to provide maternity leave cover for 11 months in the first instance.
You will lead in the development of competence frameworks, systematic reviews, evaluations, research reports and articles for peer-reviewed publication, as well as other research tasks. You will be expected to plan consultations with stakeholders and implement advice from Expert Reference Groups in important and complex issues in mental health care, including dementia and gender identity services.
The Senior Researcher will be expected to supervise the research team in searching for literature, sifting articles, data extraction, data synthesis and quality appraisal and lead the writing of reviews. Importantly, you will be expected to manage the components of complex projects and deliver high quality outputs on time.
We are seeking an individual with a background in mental health services, competence frameworks or systematic reviewing, who has a PhD in a related field (e.g. psychology, systematic reviewing, mental health, healthcare management), and has experience of managing or leading research projects.
