Responsibilities

Press

• Field enquiries from stakeholders including journalists and police forces
• Write press releases and media statements and share these when appropriate via digital & social

• Be part of the on-call rota system currently 1 week in 7 (training and support provided)
• Effectively manage Vuelio to manage the daily tagging, produce media reports demonstrating PR coverage for all campaigns in a timely way.

Digital

• Develop and update content for website news pages and social media platforms
• Spot trends and advise the team regarding innovative new ideas for PR & Media to share with the team

PR and Publications

• Produce, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences, dealing sensitively with those whose personal experiences might be featured
• Provide communications support for regional managers along with other internal staff and teams in addition to police and business development campaigns
• Manage external freelancers and agencies as needed to agreed deadlines and budgets
• To lead on editing, co-ordinating and organising the editorial, design and production of corporate publications
• Ensure all publications are in line with brand and changing needs of the charity and to be delivered in a timely via post and digitally.

Brand

• Ensure Crimestoppers consistent branding is used along with the style and tone of voice
• Manage on a weekly basis the brand inbox queries
• Extend the network of journalists both regionally and nationally
• Plan/create multi-media communications material

Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience working in media relations and PR or related fields (Essential)
• Client, journalist and/or supplier management (Essential)

About the role

The Recruitment Manager is responsible for the day to day management of recruitment activity, ensuring we meet annual targets for 800+ seasonal positions working with children and young people. Youth Engagement Officer  

Location: Hybrid. Expected to be in our London office in Victoria at least one day per week. You can be remote every other day or come into the office. Your office days are flexible and can be agreed with your manager, other than for monthly team days where you must be in person. Some nationwide travel expected for Youth Steering Group training days, events and conferences. After passing probation, up to six weeks ‘super remote’ working per year, where you can work anywhere in the world as long as you’re online for four hours of the UK workday.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2026 with the possibility to extend. 

Holidays: 38 days per year, including our 3-day winter shut down and eight flexible bank holidays.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time) Please note as this role works with young people there will be occasions where your working hours will be outside the standard 9-5:30pm. This will typically be a few meetings per month that can last until 7pm and about four weekend days over the year. This is to ensure our activities fit around the young people’s education and work commitments.

The Fair Education Alliance (FEA) unites 300 member organisations under a shared vision that no child’s success is limited by their socioeconomic background.

Our members (charities and social enterprises, think tanks, businesses and foundations, youth organisations, unions, universities and schools) are working collectively to create an inclusive system. We exist to close the gap in educational outcomes between children from low-income households and their wealthier peers.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in youth engagement across our membership, have supported Ofsted and Department for Education to their youth participation in policy making and our Youth Steering Group hosted our biggest ever Fair Education Youth Summit. This role will play a critical part in the success of taking this work forward. As the Youth Engagement Officer, you will work with our Head of Youth Engagement to ensure our Youth Steering Group can lead their own campaign activities, engage directly with decision makers, and collaborate with other young people to bring about the change they want to see. You will also support and manage the logistics of our Youth Summit, Youth Engagement Working Group and other youth engagement events. 

What we’re asking of you  

Support our Youth Steering Group to feel safe and confident as they co-lead our Alliance and create change

Our Youth Steering Group is made up of 25 brilliant young people, aged 14-24, who draw on their lived experience of the different barriers to accessing a fair education, to campaign for change. You will support the young people to lead their own campaign activity, write their monthly Youth Bulletin and engage directly with policy makers. You will also help the group to participate in FEA decision making, support the design and facilitation of their monthly meetings and training days, help them make progress against their personal development plans. This role will include working directly with young people, session planning and facilitation, policy research and managing logistics.

Ensure the Fair Education Youth Summit is a success and remains truly youth-led  

Our Youth Steering Group design and run the annual Fair Education Youth Summit. The event is led by young people for young people and brings together young changemakers from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors to develop their youth leadership skills, collaborate on campaigns, and engage directly with decision makers. You will support the young people to design sessions, secure speakers, embed past feedback and plan the event structure. You will also support with the event logistics, guestlist management, participant communications and collecting attendee feedback.

Support our members to improve their youth engagement practice  

Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will support the management of logistics, promote the workshops, and communicate with working group members. You will also support the facilitation of the workshops and ensure the attendee data and feedback is correctly logged and actioned. The critical responsibilities of this role are described above. They may be subject to reasonable changes from time to time in line with business need and the decisions of the youth leaders we support.

• Lead the launch of a new Dementia Information Hub at The Creighton Centre, providing advice, signposting, and referrals alongside dementia healthcare professionals.

• Build strong partnerships with local dementia services across health, social care, and the voluntary sector.

• Develop inclusive, engaging activities like dance therapy and gardening clubs to complement existing befriending programmes.

• Support the recruitment and training of a dedicated team of up to 15 Dementia Ambassadors and 50 home befriending volunteers.

• Coordinate up to 30 home and care home befriending matches in the first year, increasing to 50 in subsequent years, focusing on meaningful sensory and physical activities.

Ambition Aspire Achieve is a well-established and highly respected children and young people’s charity rooted in Newham, east London. Founded in 2016, we now deliver high-quality, inclusive and accessible services to over 950 children and young people through our youth and play hubs in Canning Town and Stratford. We reach many more through a growing outreach programme delivered in schools and local communities across Newham.

The Role: Deputy Chief Executive/Finance Manager

We are seeking a proactive and strategic leader, with strong financial and operational acumen to strengthen the charity’s internal infrastructure. The role will lead on financial management and oversight, supporting the Chief Executive at a senior level, playing a vital part in ensuring the AAA’s long-term financial resilience, equipped the charity to deliver its mission for years to come.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking charity professional to combine senior-level leadership with hands-on financial management and organisational insight.

Key responsibilities include:

• Strategic financial oversight and budget planning support.
• Management daily finance operations including payroll, cash flow, audits and reporting
• Leading statutory compliance and financial risk management
• Supporting strategic planning and business development alongside the Chief Executive
• Representing the charity externally and deputising for the Chief Executive at senior forums
• Line managing and overseeing back-office functions
• Providing operational insight and help to develop infrastructure and systems

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking someone with proven experience in charity, public or social sector leadership who thrives on both strategic challenge and operational delivery. You will have a strong grasp of charity finance, exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving skills and a demonstrable passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

ORCA are looking for an outstanding Training Manager to join their team and help the charity take the next step in the evolution of their programme of e-learning training courses to help more people than ever to help protect whales and dolphins.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of education, a systems thinker who is able to take the e-learning system ORCA have built and maximise it's capabilities. A keen understanding of how to engage and inspire learners through digital channels and how to construct dynamic courses that maximise learning is key.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading ORCA's training programmes, developing content using expert knowledge from the wider ORCA team to train people from a variety of backgrounds about whale and dolphin conservation, including members of the public, experience ORCA volunteers and seafarers.

This is an opportunity for someone to build on a strong foundation of training and catapult it into a digital space, creating an efficient, effective and wide reaching training programme that has the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for whale and dolphin conservation around the world.
