This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join The Fore and play a vital role across both our partnerships and programme teams. You’ll help coordinate key events across different stakeholders, including our corporate partners, the charities we fund, skilled volunteers who offer professional expertise to our charities, and our consultants who support organisations through the application process. Alongside this, you will help bring our work to life by drafting content and supporting the team in planning and publishing posts for our social media and beyond. You’ll also work closely with the Programmes Team to support our grant making processes, helping us to keep things running smoothly throughout our grant funding rounds.

The role is perfect for a friendly, proactive and enthusiastic individual looking to learn more about social impact and charitable giving. You’ll bring excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and great organisation to help keep activities and projects on track. With opportunities to support events, social media and comms, and partnership and programme activity, no two days will be the same.

Key responsibilities

Event & Comms Coordination

• Support the end-to-end coordination of online and in-person events, e.g. setting up online meetings, booking in-person venues, sending invites, collecting feedback. These events include:
  • Skills-based volunteering events that connect the charities we fund with professionals who offer their expertise to help organisations grow.
  • Our Funders Collective events that bring funders together to exchange ideas and explore how funding can drive deeper impact.
  • Showcases aimed to connect the charities we have backed with funders, think tanks and other stakeholders.
• Provide on-hand support to ensure events run smoothly.
• Manage the communications calendar and make sure social media posts are drafted and reviewed on time.

Programmes

• Assist with the smooth delivery of our funding rounds, e.g. updating our CRM (Salesforce), sharing updates with our team of consultants, reviewing feedback provided to grant applicants, coordinating with our Finance Team on grant payments.
• Help the Programme Team with the management of our peer learning and workshops programme, giving charities the skills they need to thrive.
• Support the Programme Team with ad-hoc data collection for impact analysis and reporting.

Organisation-wide support

• Maintain accurate records and ensure our database and task management tools are kept up to date to help the team stay organised.
• Provide flexible administrative support to The Fore team across all areas of work and other projects as required.
• Provide additional administrative or operational support when required, including limited cover for the info and pro bono mailboxes during  periods of leave.

No previous knowledge or experience of the charity sector is required but we’re particularly

What we offer

This role will work as part of the Operations team to ensure that all Ogden Trust programmes are delivered to a high standard. The post holder will work with the Subject Knowledge for Physics Teaching (SKPT) team in particular to administer the SKPT programme in line with agreed systems and processes.

The Ogden Trust is a family charitable trust which supports the teaching and learning of physics. The Trust delivers professional development programmes for teachers of physics across England, supports schools and multi-academy trusts to improve their physics provision and works with universities to support highquality physics enrichment.

The role is responsible for managing programme applications and participation, as well as organising logistics of events and supporting the administrative processes of the programme. We are seeking someone with strong communication and problem solving skills, and basic skills in programme management.

This is an exciting chance to gain a full year of hands-on experience working with a place-based funder. You will be learning how funding decisions are made and how grants are administered to create real impact in local communities. You’ll not only develop practical skills in project delivery and grant management, but also build a strong understanding of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector.

In addition to supporting grant administration, you will lead your own project from start to finish. This will involve conducting research, engaging with local organisations and sector leaders, and producing a clear, actionable plan that addresses a real need in the sector and how the Foundation can look to ease that need. You’ll have the autonomy to shape your project while receiving guidance and support from the Chief Executive and Grants and Programmes manager, giving you the perfect balance of independence and mentorship.

The Role – What you’ll be doing 

As our Product Assistant (Mass Participation events), you’ll help deliver an exceptional supporter experience across our Charity owned mass participation events —playing a hands-on role in supporter care as well as supporting with logistics and day-to-day tasks required for event delivery. 

You will: 

• Be a first point of contact for product enquiries: managing shared inboxes, answering calls and providing friendly, timely supporter care. 

• Provide excellent stewardship to all supporters. Including acknowledging donations and maintaining the Charity database in line with Charity policies and procedures.

• Support the Products team with planning and delivering mass participation events across the portfolio of both in-person and virtual events.

• Help deliver our flagship event, The Banham Marsden March, including pre-event logistics and on the day support.

• Work with fulfilment agencies to ensure fundraising materials reach supporters in a timely manner.

• Keep events information updated across our website and in-hospital displays.

Role purpose statement: The Programme Assistant, Enquiries plays a vital role in the Fellowship Programme working directly with academics facing immediate risk in their home countries to carry out due diligence or signposting. This includes managing an individual caseload, dealing with prospective applications and general enquiries, providing administrative support to the Enquiries team as well as support across the Fellowship Programme when needed. 

Organisational Background 

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933. 

Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk. 

Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’ 

‘To advance education by supporting academics and their educational institutions in countries where their continuing work is at risk or compromised, to ensure that such academics and institutions can continue to fulfil their critical role as educators for the public benefit.’ 

This is a critical time to join our dedicated and friendly Fellowship Programme team as we expand our capacity to support at-risk academics from the Middle East, Sudan, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia and many other countries. 

Role & Responsibilities  

Casework  

• Signposting prospective applicants to the application form. 

• Manage own caseload, preparing cases for eligibility review, including arranging calls to speak with applicants, booking English language tests, and gathering all relevant documentation.

• Escalating complex cases to the Team Leader as required. 

• Maintain accurate and GDPR-Compliant records of casework activity. 

• Researching international affairs to develop understanding about risks applicants face.

Role Overview

As the Youth Service Manager, you will lead KCBNA’s youth provision for young people within the KCBNA youth centre, King’s Cross and surrounding areas. You will oversee the delivery of funded programmes, develop new initiatives, and ensure high-quality workshops, training, and mentoring. This role also involves managing teams, budgets, safeguarding responsibilities, and building partnerships to support the charity’s mission of empowering young people and creating stronger communities.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management:

· Lead the design and delivery of KCBNA’s diverse range of youth provision.

· Ensure all evaluation reports required by the funder is completed in a timely manner liaising with the dedicated Grants officers.

About the role

Listening Books is a national charity that provides an excellent audiobook lending service to anyone in the UK whose illness, disability, learning or mental health difficulty, impacts on their ability to read the printed word, or hold books. Our audiobook catalogue contains over 10,000 titles. We believe that books should be accessible to everyone.

The Membership and Recruitment Administrator will help increase referrals to our service, by building and developing relationships with local partner charities and other relevant organisations. They will allocate funding to eligible new and renewing sponsored members, helping to meet our funding requirements and expand the charity’s membership base.

They will undertake the retention of its sponsored and paying members, by contacting renewing individual and organisational members, with the intention of retaining as many as possible and encouraging their use of the audiobook service.

They will also provide administrative support to the charity, including answering the main telephone line and opening and processing post.

Purpose of this role

So the purpose of this role is to support NEON achieving its mission by ensuring things are running smoothly:

• day-to-day through running some of our core systems and processes and being responsive to team needs

• in the long-term by helping to embed a progressive culture and working on operational projects

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Overseeing tech systems and hardware - website management, Mobilize, Nationbuilder, GDrive, Slack & other communication channels, laptops, mobiles, printers, and meeting tech & peripherals - and provide technical support to staff as well as collaborating with our external IT support providers;

2. Overseeing day to day running of the office, managing office supplies including first aid and ensuring accessibility as well as supporting hybrid working needs;

3. Supporting GDPR compliance - being the point of contact with our external advisor, supporting data champions in the hubs and managing GDPR changes; 

4. Working with the People & Ops Manager to run excellent people processes for the lifecycle of our staff from recruitment and induction to offboarding;

5. Participate in Operations projects, for example IT review & optimisation, GDPR review or programme support review;

6. Managing logistics for board & other meetings, team away days and retreats, other NEON events and other ad hoc team support, in particular for the EDs - booking meeting rooms, sorting out meeting tech or ordering food;

7. Monitor organisational accounts including generic email accounts and NEON networks;

8. Running delivery of an ops programme with the whole ops team - currently this is ops peer support network but with ambitions to expand to a formal programme;

9. Play an active part in the whole NEON team, contributing to organisation-wide plans.

Who you are:

You see this as important work in itself, not just a stepping stone to other parts of NEON (though you are also keen to learn about all aspects of NEON’s work) This includes doing logistics (venue bookings, booking travel for 40+ people, organising catering etc), and “facilities” work like keeping our office running well and ensuring our team have the equipment they need to work well. 

4. You are experienced with using a range of IT and tech and are happy to learn new apps and new bits of hardware, so that you can get all of your IT tasks done well, and teach the team how to use things whether that’s updating our website, helping the team to use Slack as well as possible, or finding a new solution for hybrid working

5. Able to flex between longer term projects, regular cycle work and responsive requests - you are great at being self-motivated in order to push longer projects forward over weeks or months, as well as getting daily or weekly operational tasks done. But you can also shift your workload to turn things around on a day when it’s important.

6. You are proactive, well-organised and feel empowered to solve problems yourself when they come up (sometimes described as an “ownership mindset”), as well as balancing this with asking for help when you need it

7. Excellence is important to you and it shows in your work. Whatever you do, you do it to a high standard. To you, it doesn’t matter whether that’s making sure our office plants are all watered, or coordinating all of the logistics for one of our flagship programmes, it will be done excellently and to deadline

As the HR Assistant, you will provide high-quality of HR Generalist duties to the HR Team, including administrative, data input, recruitment and training support to the HR department and management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Check recruitment updates and progress for all active vacancies.
• Follow up with candidates and managers on any outstanding documentation.

You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Southampton. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

Salary

£36,400 per annum.
