ABOUT THE ROLE

The Development and Partnerships Coordinator will coordinate Trees for Cities’ partnerships and community tree planting initiatives in towns and cities across the UK, enhancing local environments and community wellbeing.

Collaborating with local authorities and third-sector partners, the post holder will coordinate the UK wide Trees in Neighbourhoods programme; managing local authority and partner relationships, allocating funding, managing budgets, monitoring and reporting.

Working closely with the wider Development and Partnerships team, the post holder will also contribute to a wide range of other exciting programmes at Trees for Cities - such as Trees Cities of the World and the innovative tech-for-good scheme Trees for Streets - and support the improvement of departmental processes and rollouts of new systems and initiatives.

Policy Officer-Wales

We’re looking for a Policy Officer – Wales to help shape policy, build relationships, and advocate for better support and care for kidney patients. In this brand-new role, you’ll work for Kidney Care UK and Kidney Wales, engaging with policymakers, healthcare professionals, and those affected by kidney disease.

You’ll spend time at the Senedd, building connections with local politicians and councillors, and ensuring the voices of kidney patients are heard loud and clear. With your knowledge of Welsh Government structures (or similar UK experience), you’ll help drive our campaigns and influence change.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop or participate in work programs and undertake projects to explore policy issues under the guidance of the Policy Director of Kidney Care UK and the Managing Director of Kidney Wales.
• Support the research, development and dissemination of policy positions in Wales.
• Work with other team members to deliver events/reports or campaigns as needed
• Keep up to date with the policy department and charity work to avoid duplication and ensure good communications with our colleagues.
• Contribute to the newly created All Wales Cross Party Group.
• Undertake desk-based research involving data collection and the synthesis of information from relevant sources.
• Seek out opportunities for communications and influencing in the Welsh parliament, including the need for a kidney group. 

About you

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. 
• Previous experience working with elected members
• Experience in conducting analysis and writing and editing reports for publication
• Can travel regularly to the Senedd Cymru Welsh Parliament in Cardiff and other parts of Wales, plus Alton Hampshire

About the role

The Kent Infant Feeding Project Coordinator role is vital in the delivery of community Infant Feeding Peer Support within the region. Offering support to the infant feeding peer supporters and project team, ensuring the service runs efficiently and effectively and leading on the delivery of the post discharge contacts to families within Kent.

Your role will include: 

· Extensively advertise service and recruit volunteering opportunities using a variety of platforms including social media and locally.

· Provide clear guidance and information to potential volunteers on the roles, responsibilities and training requirements. 

· Have a good understanding of each of the regions within the projects the community groups and the hospitals in which our staff and volunteers offer support. 

· Collate and enter all information as and when necessary, into the Kent Infant Feeding database to ensure service users are registered on the system and touch points with the service users are logged. 

· Attend meetings relevant to safeguarding duties to ensure effective and informed practice, responding to and supporting safeguarding concerns. To work on safeguarding cases as and when required.

· Working with families from diverse backgrounds.

· Good interpersonal skills with the ability to create rapport with a range of people.

· Experience of data collection and performing accurate data entry

This permanent, full-time role, to which the Circuit has made an initial five-year commitment, is Circuit-wide, but locally based. The person appointed will help lead the development of a Circuit-led New Places for New People (NPNP) initiative for and with young people within the Circuit, which we anticipate will lead to the upscaling of this area of ministry in the medium term.

 We are seeking a collaborative self-starter who is able to work in strategically missional ways in order to reach and disciple young people, in enabling them to flourish in every part of their lives. You are likely to hold a degree-level qualification in Theology, or a subject related to this area of ministry. Ideally, this might be a professionally-qualifying JNC award. Applicants not holding a JNC, or equivalent, may still be considered.

 A specific faith is an essential requirement for this role and in accordance with the Equality Act, 2010, it is an occupational requirement that the successful candidate is a practising Christian.

The post-holder will have access to office space at The Well Methodist Church, 164 North Road, Darlington, DL1 2EL. However, travel across the Circuit will be required and the post-holder must have access to their own transport. Some evening and weekend work will be required. At least one day will be free from responsibility each week.
