About the role

This role sits within The Passage Housing Needs Service (HNS) team. It will provide brief interventions to support individuals who have been placed into accommodation by the HNS team to settle into and sustain their tenancies. The post holder will work holistically to assist individuals to address issues that are impacting on their ability to sustain their accommodation on a time limited basis and will link them into services in their local areas for ongoing support in order for them to gain independence and integrate into their new communities.

Main duties

• To provide support to individuals who are moving into their new private rented sector accommodation where appropriate and needed. This can include setting up utilities, council tax among other things.
• To establish and develop positive and constructive working relationships with a range of services and agencies across London boroughs that can provide support to our clients ensuring the best possible outcomes for them.
• To assess any risk to clients, the environment and staff, record and communicate any risks identified using appropriate channels in the Passage.
• To ensure accurate and timely record keeping using the Inform database as well as client files and ensure all record keeping and information sharing is kept securely in line with Data protection.
• Support HNS Workers to complete exit questionnaires to gather feedback and promote co production with the individuals the team supports.
• To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.

Key responsibilities

• In conjunction with your Housing Needs Service Coordinator to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.
• To ensure that all The Passage policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Code of Practice and Confidentiality.
• To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Diversity and Equality Policy as it affects both The Passage and its work with vulnerable adults.
• To at all times undertake your role in a professional manner maintaining a high quality standard of work, and to always work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of The Passage.

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant who can work with our high performing team to deliver a first-class management accounting service to the British Museum.

You will be responsible for ensuring that best practice is embedded across the British Museum in relation to fund accounting, grant management and the financial aspects of the Museum's Advancement strategy and Public Engagement activities. This is an exciting chance to work with a first-class team in a world renown institution.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Support the Collections and Public Engagement business areas in development and monitoring of our public engagement and advancement strategies. Advise on fund accounting and grant management, heritage assets accounting and financial processes.
• Project work - advise colleagues on Museum wide projects and develop processes for/contribute financial expertise towards these, analyse income and expenditure streams and provide and review financial information for business cases and funding applications.
• Accounting services and line management - line management of management accountants, including mentoring and developing your team. Preparation of management reports and quarterly forecasts. Support budgeting processes for departments across projects. Coordination of financial information for reports and paper, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and other activities.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or other.
• Knowledge of fund accounting and grant management
• Good technical knowledge of relevant regulatory and accounting frameworks (including Accounting Standards, VAT, income tax, NI), IT literacy with strong excel skills and experience of accounting systems.
• Audit experience including some post qualification experience.

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and curation to the FYT Leadership Team, and to lead the smooth running of the FYT Organisation which supports the wider FYT Movement. This will include coordinating the delivery of the strategic plan, leading fundraising, and working closely with the FYT Board to oversee the smooth running of the organisation.

8. Engage in practical theological reflection on FYT’s mission and how it is expressed.

10. Be an advocate for marginalised young people, the issues they face, and youth workers and projects working with them (pursuing prophetic mischief, provocation, and taking up our unique space in the youth ministry community).
11. Make links with appropriate Christian, voluntary and statutory bodies and to represent FYT in appropriate forums and pursue opportunities for collaborative working.
12. Support the active promotion of the FYT training and resource offer.
13. Lead the monitoring and evaluation (impact assessment) of FYT’s work

Other functions:

1. Meet regularly with Line Manager for supervision.
2. Undertake administration and keep necessary work records.
3. Comply with all FYT policies and procedures.
4. Work collaboratively with the FYT leadership team and Board to ensure that organisational policies are regularly reviewed.

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
• Engagement in ongoing, regular youth work with marginalised young people is not a requirement of this post, but encouraged. FYT will be flexible where possible in order to facilitate this.

Founded in 1989, the mission of Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK) is to support Indigenous Peoples and other communities of the world’s rainforests in their efforts to protect their environment and fulfil their rights to land, life and livelihood.  Locally, it supports forest communities to gain land rights, challenge destructive industries, manage their forests and protect their environment. Globally, it campaigns to influence laws and policies that protect rainforests and their inhabitants. 

The DRC Fieldwork Coordinator role sits within RFUK’s largest Programmes team: Land & Livelihoods. A central aspect of the L&L team’s work is supporting communities to establish and manage community forests as well as working at the national and policy levels to achieve wider impact. This role will be pivotal to a new phase of community forest expansion in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is being supported by the Rainforest Trust. In partnership with five local organisations, the role will contribute to the objective of expanding community forests in two highly biodiverse landscapes: the periphery of the Maïko National Park in North Kivu province and the area surrounding the Salonga National Park in Maï Ndombe province. 

The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years’ experience of project management support in a charity or international development context, as well as 3 years’ of experience in supporting community land use planning and livelihoods initiatives in rural contexts. We are seeking someone who has a firm grasp on forest governance and human rights, is familiar with the requirements of institutional donors, and is eager to play a key role in a new phase of community forest expansion.

Salary: £35,000-£42,000.

We are growing our programme of research and are looking for a Research Manager to lead this work.
 
We are seeking to build our evidence base to inform national policy and the delivery of our services using both synthesised data from our services and new key pieces of research.
 
The Research Manager will work in the Policy and Research Team and manage a Research and Engagement Officer. The Research Manager will design, develop and implement an impactful programme of research that centres the needs of survivors and support the Research and Engagement Officer to conduct research. This will include managing and delivering two significant, funded research grants exploring the provision of support services and accommodation for LGBT victims and survivors.
 
You will promote the analysis, dissemination and use of the data generated to ensure maximum impact. This will include contributing to policy work led by the Director of Policy and Evidence, supported by the Policy Officer.

Galop’s offices are located in London (Hybrid available). We are also open to this being a remote working role for someone based outside of London.
 
Hours
 
This role is offered on a 0.6 - 0.8 FTE (21-28 hours per week) basis, and we are open to discussion on how those hours are structured in order to encourage applicants with additional responsibilities or commitments.

If so, this is an exciting opportunity for you to take the next step in your career by joining the Brent Irish Advisory Service (BIAS) as our Housing Adviser.

BIAS’s housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex housing issues, including homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, housing or homelessness to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service, providing specialist advice on housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.

You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

• Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients, via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.
• Ensuring that all casework records are kept up to date and completed clearly and effectively.
• Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of other available services, and signposting or referring clients as needed.
• Participating in regular team file reviews and supervision sessions, and contributing to maintaining BIAS’s high-quality service in line with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.  
• Engaging positively and constructively with other service providers, including local authorities and housing providers, to maintain partnerships.
• Staying up to date with developments in housing legislation and identifying opportunities to effect positive change to housing policy, together with the Advice Manager.

These are the basic duties required of the Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based primarily in our advice offices in Willesden (Brent), with some outreach work in Haringey borough. There may be some options for flexible working (one day per week)

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion in Haringey in 2025 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

The Woodland and Nature Recovery Manager at Western Forest will manage the delivery of high-quality forestry, woodland and nature recovery activities within the Western Forest. This role ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) and focuses on woodland creation, agroforestry and sustainable forest management. The manager will oversee a team of five officers, based primarily within partnership organisations, and work closely with England’s Community Forests and many other partners to maximise impact.

This role will enable the sharing of expertise across the Western Forest area.

A key focus will be to work with partners across the region to seek out opportunities to create large scale woodland creation projects that will deliver at landscape scale. These new projects will seek alternative funding streams that will generate a variety of activities such as tree planting, timber production and biodiversity protection.
