About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East Rivers Trust's Finance and Operations Team.  We are a small dynamic team, sitting at the heart of the organisation. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation.  The successful applicant will come from a financial background with a strong understanding of financial principles, an accounting qualification and proficiency in Excel.  They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses. 

The role would suit an individual, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.  The role involves liaising and following up with all teams to ensure the data provided is accurate and timely, to support grant applications, payments and audit requirements.

To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, be proactive and have excellent communication skills, following up and advising staff across all teams.  They will need to have a positive attitude, and willingness to assist the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required.  This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week, (on a Thursday), working in the office in Leatherhead.

This is a part time position, (of 3 or 4 days per week), to include Monday and Thursday (this being our in office day).  There may be a requirement to pick up additional hours to support with busy periods.

Thanks to funding from the DCMS Uniformed Youth Fund, Girlguiding is launching the Reach Project to increase our impact in underrepresented communities and lower income areas. We want to create 1,400 spaces for girls to join, and test new ways for girls to engage with our offer. 
 
Girlguiding has been successful in winning a one-year government-funded grant to grow our provision for 10-18 year olds in ‘harder-to-reach’ communities. These include lower IMD areas, minority ethnic communities, young people with SEND, looked after children and young carers – among others.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Development Manager

We are seeking a proactive and strategic fundraiser to lead income generation and drive real impact for the UK’s national trails.

Position: Fundraising and Development Manager
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Location: Remote (some UK travel required)

About the Role

As Fundraising and Development Manager you’ll take the lead on building meaningful relationships with funders and corporate partners, managing grant applications from research to reporting, and developing the fundraising strategy in alignment with organisational goals.

As the sole fundraiser in a small, passionate team, this is a unique opportunity to shape a growing charity’s income generation strategy while championing access to the UK’s finest outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Manage and grow relationships with trusts, grant-makers and corporate sponsors.
• Research new funding opportunities and develop compelling applications, including budgets and case studies.
• Develop the charity’s corporate membership offering and lead strategic partnerships.
• Support member organisations with funding opportunities and coordinate a Fundraising Special Interest Group.
• Maintain and develop the CRM system (Beacon) in line with fundraising best practice and GDPR.
• Monitor fundraising KPIs and contribute to annual budgets and business planning.
• Ensure fundraising is ethical, inclusive and legally compliant.

About You

You will be a self-starting, results-driven fundraiser who is comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team. You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment and are motivated by the opportunity to help shape an organisation's future.

• A strong track record in securing grants and building corporate partnerships

The charity is the independent champion of the UK’s National Trails – iconic long-distance walking, cycling and riding routes. About this role

At SPANA, we support a network of global partners working through both a short- term small grants and long- term programmes – known as our Senior Partners. Senior Partners represent key strategic investments in our mission to enhance working animal welfare. These programmes are established country offices, each led by dedicated Country Directors who oversee the implementation of our work. Our initiatives in these regions reflect a commitment to delivering holistic programming across a range of interventions to improve the welfare of working animals. 

As Programme Manager you will lead our critical relationships and day to day activities with SPANA Senior Partners in overseas country offices delivering our international programmes. You will be responsible for managing activities across SPANA’s international programme work including budget reporting, grant making and management as well as procurement. You are a key part of SPANA’s Global Programs Department (GPD) team and report to the Senior Programmes Manager.
