As Finance Officer will help support the finance Team by:

• Administering financial tasks and help the General Manager in the areas of financial planning and reporting

As Finance Officer your skills and experience will be:

• Develop and maintain faculty pools comprised of UK-based doctors.

High Trees are seeking a dynamic and creative Community Capacity Building Officer to provide tailored development support to local organisations and manage projects relating to sector support. You will be joining us at an exciting time following the formation of a new Research and Development team which is starting to deliver a new capacity building offer to the local Voluntary and Community Sector, including one-to-one mentoring and the production of high-quality resources based on our experience of working with Lambeth communities for over 25 years. We deliver capacity building support both directly and through our partnership work.

This is a hands-on, practical role and the right candidate will have a wide skillset. You will be working on a variety of projects which focus on capacity building and VCS infrastructure support. Your day-to-day work will be varied and over the next 12 months we expect this to include tasks such as supporting local VCS organisations on a one-to-one basis to improve their policies and procedures, managing a local grants programme, creating high quality templates and user guides, and running workshop or training sessions using the resources we have developed such as our Collaboration and Employment Toolkits. StandOut is a growing charity, entirely funded by charitable donations. Job Description

The IRC UK’s Finance Team seeks to achieve excellence in financial management by providing accurate and timely financial information to IRC management and programs and by adhering to established financial practices and accounting principles. We do this by supporting the UK office; by implementing and monitoring IRC and donor policies and procedures; leading financial forecasting and planning, proactive risk management; consolidating financial results; and ensuring reliable financial reporting (internal and external).

The Finance Assistant – Operations assists the UK Finance team in delivering its objectives and providing effective support to IRC UK. This position works closely with the UK Finance and Operations department, wider UK office and suppliers. Furthermore, the incumbent plays a key role in ensuring that Finance remains a critical organizational business partner delivering accurate, insightful, and timely financial management information.

The role is part of the UK Finance Team and reports to the Finance Manager – Operations.

Major Responsibilities

•  Maintain accurate files for supplier invoices, staff expenses claims, petty cash and credit card expenses

•  Assist in maintaining an up to date – London Finance mailbox, ensuring mails are dealt with in a timely manner.

•Check and prepare invoice journals for all direct debits and ensure supporting invoices and approval are filed.

•  Assist with NATWEST bank income and payment journals and the bank reconciliation.

•  Post invoices and credit notes in Integra (Dynamics 365), ensuring authorization, budget codes and supporting documents have been provided in a timely manner for payment runs.

•  Reconcile supplier statements to creditor accounts in Integra and follow up any queries to ensure they are dealt with in a timely fashion

•  Arrange travel advances for staff, check all staff expense claims for compliance with IRC-UK Travel Policy and reconcile against advances in Integra.

•Reconciliation of credit card expenses in Integra.

•Prepare correction journals and post on Integra

•Prepare the weekly payment run as directed and ensure bank sign off staff are allocated well ahead of the run.

•Participate in the development and delivery of plans, goals, objectives, and priorities for the UK Finance Team and undertake other duties as assigned.

Conservation Collective (CC) funds solutions to protect the environment, restore nature, and safeguard against climate change. The CC UK charity incubates, launches, and supports locally focused foundations which open new channels of funding to support the most impactful environmental grassroots projects. Our network comprises 20 members, based all over the world, and is growing steadily.

As the demand for our model increases around the world, our income and expenditure are growing in volume and complexity. We are looking for a Finance Officer to support our financial operations through this expansion: recording financial transactions, monitoring internal controls and coordinating with our local foundations about financial management. The role will report to the Finance Director and will work closely with the rest of the team. Key Responsibilities:

 Carry out day-to-day financial transactions

· Process invoices to support fundraising efforts of local foundations in the network.

· Preparation of Gift Aid reporting on quarterly basis.

· Weekly payments administration using online banking.

· Maintain accurate records of financial transactions on Xero.

Coordinate income recognition with fundraising team members

· Notify local foundations about donations received and log required documentation.

· Provide formal receipts on received donations as requested.

· Reconcile Stripe transactions on Salesforce to maintain accurate donor records.

· Support with income reconciliation between Salesforce and Xero.

Support Finance Director on maintaining accurate financial information and developing ongoing internal controls

About the position

The successful candidate will be a finance professional with experience of working in an accounts payable function in an international environment. The successful candidate will come either from a similar position in another charity or from industry, looking to move into the international charity sector. The Finance Officer will provide all staff with day-to-day advice and support on finance matters to ensure that there is good understanding of and compliance with financial controls and processes. The Finance Officer will lead on accounts payable, including all cash advances and staff expenses both in the UK and for staff and consultants overseas. The Finance Officer will also provide support for the Financial Accountant in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliation; bank and treasury management; and the production of schedules required in relation to the year-end statutory accounts.

Responsibilities

Accounts payable

• Preparing weekly payments runs within the accounting system (Microsoft Business Central) in accordance with the agreed timetable and financial procedures, ensuring correct coding of all costs and checking completeness and accuracy of all supporting documentation;

• Setting up all payments for release via online banking by management;

• Checking all staff and consultant expense claims and monthly credit card returns, including reconciliation of any staff advances;

• Acting as a point of contact for all accounts payable queries;

• Maintaining a strong control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate; and

• Assisting on process and systems improvements which lead to more effective financial control;

• Monitoring Expensify and providing training to new users as required.

Financial accounting

• Ensure all transactions are processed accurately within the accounting system (Microsoft Business Central) – posting adjustments where necessary

• Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts

• Assist the Financial Accountant with balance sheets reconciliations as needed

• Assist the Financial Accountant with the maintenance of the fixed asset register and inventory

• Assist the Head of Finance and the Financial Accountant to maintain the organisational accounting system including the development of new systems and processes

• Help generate supporting schedules required in relation to the year-end statutory accounts and audits

• Assist the Financial Accountant with month-end tasks as required

Banking and treasury management

• Provide administrative support in relation to all bank accounts;

• Monitor bank balances and currency requirements; and

• Ensure staff travelling overseas requests for advances and credit card top ups are dealt with in a timely manner.

Other

• Resolve queries from suppliers, funders and other external customers; and

• Advise local staff, consultants and partners on financial matters and provide support as required.

• Participate in new staff inductions

Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance.

Qualifications and experience

Essential

• Experience managing accounts payable for an international organisation;

• Experience working with multiple currencies;

• Experience of performing bank reconciliations;

• Experience of producing other balance sheet reconciliations and using control accounts;

• Excellent numerical skills;

• Excellent excel skills and strong general IT skills;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable

• Accounting / book-keeping qualification;

• Experience of working in the charity sector;

• Experience in the anti-slavery sector;

• Experience working in for a grant-making organisation;

• Proven track record of working in a small team;

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central.

A fantastic and fast-growing charity focused on providing support and advice for carers of children is seeking a Senior Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

With headquarters in London, the role is offered on a hybrid basis – with 2 days per week required onsite. The charity has a turnover of around £7 million, with approximately 80 staff. Their focus is specifically to provide support for kinship carers of children – grandparents, siblings and other family members who support children when parents are unable to provide care.

The Senior Finance Officer role will make up part of a new finance team structure. The role reports to the Head of Finance, and other team members include a Payroll Manager and Finance Director. The role is paying £36,206 inclusive of London weighting.

The role will cover processing all income and expenditure in the financial management system, performing bank and transaction ledger reconciliations to support treasury management and cashflow forecasting, supporting the workflows of the Finance and Fundraising teams and providing relevant financial information to support various reporting requirements.

The charity has recently implemented a new finance system (Business Central) and has secured some new grants and contracts, so there may be the chance to grow and progress as the charity continues on this path.

Typical duties will include:

-Operation of the Purchase Ledger

-Operation of the Sales Ledger

-Fixed Asset reporting

-Expenses

-Control account reconciliations

-Income reconciliation

-Bank reconciliations and recording of transactions

-Working with budget holders to track and report on income & expenditure versus budgets

-Prepare reports for funders

-Support the Head of Finance with preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts

-Assist in preparation of the audit file

Candidate requirements:

-Demonstrable prior experience in a similar finance role

-Ideally AAT fully-qualified or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified

-Strong understanding of charity finance and charity SORP accounting

-Experience of a medium/large accounting package or ERP such as Agresso, Business Central. SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, Exchequer etc

-Experience producing accurate and timely financial reports for a range of stakeholders

-A positive and tenacious attitude

-A values-driven and collaborative approach to work

Job purpose and key responsibilities

As per our 2030 Vision, CARE and our partners aim to support 200 million people from the most vulnerable and excluded communities to overcome poverty and social injustice. This role sits within CARE International UK’s Programme Funding Team, which is critical to the achievement of CARE’s vision as we lead high-quality bidding processes with UK-based institutional donors and large foundations.

As a Programme Development Officer, you will play a key role in the delivery of CIUK’s donor diversification strategy seeking to secure funding from and strengthen CIUK’s relationships with non-FCDO donors. The post-holder will lead proposal development processes for accountable grants up to £1.5M. You will also work with other programme development specialists to contribute to the programme design and proposal submissions for larger or more complex programmes such as those funded by FCDO or the European Commission.

The post holder will work closely with technical teams, CARE Country Offices and other partners to identify and monitor exciting funding opportunities, and which showcase CARE’s programme innovation, and which deliver impact as well as full cost recovery for CIUK. The post holder will be the primary contact person and manage CIUK’s relationship engagement with allocated donors.

Post holders will work internationally and be exposed to a range of technical approaches in varied thematic areas and geographies across CARE’s work. You will bring experience in institutional funding, prospecting, donor engagement and understanding of programme design processes. An ability to work in French and overseas experience is also highly desirable.

Salary: £39,197 per annum

Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time.  We encourage all colleagues to visit member hospices to help inform our work and you may be able to work from there.

Travel to corporate partner events and in-person meetings will be expected, and so some weeks might require more than 1 or 2 days in the office. 

Contract: Permanent. Full time role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

You will be responsible for a portfolio of corporate partnerships to the value of £1.2m.
