You’ll also help to analyse results, test new ideas, and find ways to improve future campaigns.

You’ll speak to supporters regularly, ensuring they receive great supporter stewardship. And you’ll work closely with teams across the MS Society, including Supporter Care, Brand, Digital and Data and with external suppliers like creative agencies and print partners. This is a collaborative role where your ideas and input will be valued.

Delivery and line management

• To assist in the delivery of practical dance and performance skills classes as and when required.
• To manage a caseload of participants requiring Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), mentoring and confidence building

Background:  The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration, working closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. Established in 1951, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. The Islamic Philanthropy Fund (IPF), launched by IOM in February 2025 in Riyadh under the supervision of Private Sector Partnerships Division at the HQ, IPF aims to harness the power of Islamic charitable giving to support some of the world's most vulnerable migrant and displaced populations. This initiative aligns with Shariah principles and seeks to provide a sustainable source of income to ensure the safety and dignity of those affected by crises.

The Private Sector Partnerships Division (PSP) sits within the Office of Partnerships, Advocacy and Communications under the overall oversight of the Director General. PSP builds partnerships with the private sector that enable IOM's strategic priorities and engage the private sector as a key stakeholder in migration through impactful and innovative partnerships. PSP leads strategic outreach and engagement with the private sector and Islamic Philanthropy Fund and provides Headquarters, Regional and Country Offices with assistance and expertise relating to initiating, establishing, and maintaining partnerships with the private sector and IPF. PSP is responsible for the development and implementation of IOM’s Private Sector and IPF Strategy which provides a framework for how IOM engages with the private sector and IPF partners to support safe, orderly, and regular migration. PSP oversees engagement with the private sector and IPF, establishes and coordinates IOM’s private sector and IPF partnerships due diligence process, builds staff capacity in private sector and IPF partnership-building and oversees the Goodwill Ambassador programme and celebrity partnerships.

IOM has had a presence in the United Kingdom since 1995. The UK office supports migrants through a variety of resettlement, support, and protection activities. The relationship between IOM and the UK has grown significantly, with the UK being one of IOM's largest donors and an influential Member State. IOM UK collaborates with the government and other partners to provide emergency response, resettlement assistance, and durable solutions for displaced populations.

Objective: Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission in the UK and with technical coordination from the Private Sector Partnerships Division to ensure alignment with IOM's overall strategic goals and objectives for the IPF, the incumbent will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Islamic Philanthropy strategy in the UK. This role will focus on mobilizing resources through Zakat, Sadaqah, and other Islamic charitable giving mechanisms by engaging international charities, financial institutions, foundations, corporations, high-net-worth individuals, and relevant stakeholders within the UK.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Scope of Work:

1. Strategic Planning and Landscape Mapping
   1. Develop a comprehensive strategy for the growth and sustainability of the Islamic Philanthropy Fund (IPF) in the UK.
   2. Map out the IPF landscape in the UK, including how UK-based Islamic charities and grantees operate, and identify the specific regulatory frameworks applicable to them.
   3. Assess the size and volume of funds mobilized by Islamic charities, with a particular focus on Zakat and Sadaqah donations.
   4. Utilize existing research to map Muslim communities involved in alms-giving, detailing their size, geographic distribution (including parliamentary constituencies), socio-economic profiles, and key entry points such as diaspora organizations.
   5. Establish a detailed IPF profile for the UK, based on these assessments, and provide recommendations on potential partnerships for initiatives of mutual interest.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development 
   1. Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including Islamic organizations, community leaders, private sector entities, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), Islamic finance and banking stakeholders, Muslim social media influencers and key Islamic institutions responsible for issuing Fatwas.
   2. Develop products, tools, engagement plan to successfully establish partnerships with these Islamic institutions and other key actors.
   3. Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and events to promote the IPF and foster collaboration.
   4. Map Islamic charities that deliver international assistance and identify areas of joint interest with IOM.
3. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization
   1. Design and implement targeted fundraising campaigns based on the mapped landscape and stakeholder insights.
   2. Develop proposals and grant applications to secure both financial and in-kind support.
   3. Secure 2-5 strategic partnerships to mobilize resources with support from the mission and Private Sector Division.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
   1. Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the IPF’s impact.
   2. Prepare regular progress reports, including comprehensive monitoring and evaluation outputs, with actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
   3. Ensure compliance with IOM policies and maintain transparent documentation of all activities and transactions.

This is an exciting opportunity to steer Asylum Aid at an important time in its 30-year existence. As Executive Director you will be responsible for delivering on our strategy for impact. You will oversee our work to increase access to expert, trauma-informed legal representation to those in the asylum, trafficking and statelessness systems and lead our policy and strategic legal work to achieve systemic change that contributes towards our vision.

You will line manage the Director of Legal Casework to oversee the provision of supportive and enabling leadership to Asylum Aid caseworkers so that they can continue to deliver high quality expert advice in complex cases, while being supported in their professional development and wellbeing. You will also manage and develop the work of our welfare advice team within the Westminster Advice Services Partnership and beyond, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the sector to build capacity and increase our impact. 

The ideal candidate, who may be legally qualified, will have experience of leadership in the charity/NGO sector and a sound understanding of the asylum, human rights and trafficking processes in the UK and the legal frameworks which govern the protection of refugees, survivors of trafficking and stateless people, and of the role of law in achieving system change.

We are looking for someone who is strategically minded and passionate about providing supportive and inclusive leadership to our expert team. You will be committed to our objectives and to the role which expert legal representation plays in enabling people in need of protection in the UK to obtain it.

As is the nature of this sector, the role may be exposed to a high volume of traumatic and distressing material and, whilst they will be supported by the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and surrounding team, the candidate should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of good self-care principles in an intense work environment and dissemination of those principles to junior members of the team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and strategy

·Be responsible, with the support of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO, for the development, implementation and monitoring of Asylum Aid’s organisational strategy

·Provide leadership and strategic direction at Asylum Aid in accordance with its aims and objectives, with the support of the Director of Legal Casework

·Act as external spokesperson for Asylum Aid, maintaining and strengthening Asylum Aid’s position as a leader in the refugee rights, statelessness and legal aid sectors;

·Work collaboratively with others in the sector to promote and strengthen Asylum Aid’s work, identify and establish potential partnerships, with the support of the Director of Legal Casework;

·Work collaboratively with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and Executive Leadership team to drive the implementation of the Group strategic framework;

·Ensure that all reporting and monitoring requirements are met to support fundraising, contract compliance and monitoring strategic impact;

·Support the cross collaboration of the Asylum Aid team with the Helen Bamber Foundation team and play an active part in the management of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group.

Governance  

·Act as the Data Protection Supervisor with responsibility for data protection and cyber security within Asylum Aid

·Together with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and designated safeguarding leads, be responsible for child and adult safeguarding within Asylum Aid

·In collaboration with the Director of Legal Casework, ensure compliance by Asylum Aid with all legal and regulatory obligations, including the Legal Aid Agency contract, the Immigration Advice Authority and Solicitors Regulation Authority;

·Lead on the preparation and presentation of quarterly reports on Asylum Aid’s activities, strategy and risks to the Asylum Aid Board, the Finance and Fundraising Committee and the People and Governance Committee;

·Lead on the preparation of the Trustees’ annual report and ensure that monitoring and evaluation systems are adequate to enable reporting on Asylum Aid’s activities and impact.

Management and Supervision 

·Responsible for line management of the Director of Legal Casework and Welfare Advice service coordinator, and other team supervisors as required;

·Together with the Group Director of People, responsible for Human Resources and implementation of the People Strategy within Asylum Aid, including development and implementation of HR policies and procedures;

·Together with the Director of Legal Casework and team supervisors, drive the effective management and supervision of the Asylum Aid team and ensure that they comply with relevant professional standards and accreditation;

·Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture at Asylum Aid in which each member feels valued and supported to develop professionally and to perform to the best of their ability;

·Ensure the team’s well-being and that self-care practices are established and work in tandem with the Director of Legal Casework and supervisors to ensure trauma-informed ways of working.

Policy & Strategic Legal Work

·Together with the Group Director of Policy, identify policy priorities and coordinate the preparation of evidence and briefings drawing on Asylum Aid’s experience and expertise to influence system change;

·Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with sector colleagues to support joint strategic engagement including policy advocacy and strategic legal work;

·Work closely with the Director of Legal Casework and team supervisors to drive changes in the UK asylum, trafficking and statelessness systems through strategic legal work.

Finance & Fundraising

·Work closely with the CEO and the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Finance Team to set and manage budget(s) and general financial matters for Asylum Aid

·Together with the Director of Legal Casework and the Group Finance Team, establish systems for monitoring legal aid Work In Progress and billing, and securing casework income including legal aid, and inter partes income from judicial review cases;

·Work closely with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Fundraising and Communications Team to secure funding for Asylum Aid from a range of sources including trusts and foundations, corporate philanthropy and major donors;

·Ensure that Legal Aid and other income is maximised, and targets are achieved.

Other duties

·Manage the recruitment and supervision of volunteers where necessary in collaboration with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Volunteers Coordinator;

·Support the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Facilities team to ensure the smooth running of the office and that the facilities meet the needs of Asylum Aid;

·Work outside normal office hours as required and travel in order to carry out the responsibilities of the post.

·To undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge

•Experience of running a small to medium sized charity/legal NGO and/or legal department within the NGO sector (or other equivalent senior management role);

•Demonstrable experience of managing and leading a successful team and the ability to manage a growing team with mixed roles from team supervisors to administrative support staff, working co-operatively with colleagues to maintain transparency and effective working relationships within the team;

•Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds

•Strong understanding of good governance including legal, regulatory and financial responsibilities;

•Ability to work with a range of stakeholders from trustees to external partners;

•Experience of leading and/or participating in organisational strategic planning;

·Experience of legal policy work within the human rights field and /or of strategic litigation, whether as an NGO claimant or legal representative;

•Experience of managing diverse funding sources and setting and implementing budgets;

•Experience of working in a service delivery partnership with other organisations;

•Experience of fundraising, especially grants from trusts and foundations;

•Sound working knowledge of the law and policy as it relates to immigration,  asylum, human rights and modern slavery/trafficking;

•Demonstrable understanding of the asylum and human rights sector in the UK;

•An understanding of the barriers migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers face regarding access to legal advice, reasons why they may become destitute and why this makes it more difficult to access advice and support; and

•The passion for working empathetically and supportively with migrants, refugees, stateless people and asylum seekers.

Desirable Experience

·Experience of managing the delivery of frontline casework with people in the asylum or trafficking systems

·Experience of tendering for and delivering publicly funded contracts e.g. LAA or local authority funding;

·Working knowledge of Legal Aid Agency contracts, including the delivery of casework and billing under a legal aid contract in the immigration and asylum category and/or the public law category;

Role Purpose:

The Social Change Nest is going through a very exciting growth period and since our Head of Development is going on maternity leave for 4 months from September we are looking for somebody who can join our growing team as soon as possible. The Senior Development Manager will contribute to our FY25/26 income targets and cover part of the functions of the Head of Development while she’s on leave. The Head of Development manages the Development team, which covers the business development, marketing and communications functions, and works with the CEO to ensure that the organisation grows in a strategic and balanced way.

The Social Change Nest is onboarding and supporting hundreds of new groups every year and we are working closely with funders across the UK and worldwide, helping them move large amounts of funding to unincorporated movements at the frontlines of social change. We are spending more time than ever raising awareness on how capital flows impact the ability of communities to create change, and how we can hack the system to enable more money to flow in an equitable way to unincorporated movements.

We are looking for somebody who is excited about all this and ready to hit the ground running. We are in the middle of a large capital raise, so we would like the ideal candidate to join the team as soon as possible to work closely with the Head of Development and the CEO, as well as the rest of the Development team, for 3 months, before the Head of Development goes on maternity leave. The Senior Development Manager will then take over part of the team support responsibilities of the Head of Development and share responsibility for the income targets with the CEO for the months that the Head of Development is on leave.

• Work closely with the Head of Development to deliver our Development strategy for the financial year FY25/26:

What does United for Global Mental Health do?

At United for Global Mental Health, we work with trusted partners to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and increase support for mental health worldwide.

The United for Global Mental Health team is made up of diverse, passionate and knowledgeable individuals based in the UK and in countries around the world. By combining our extensive in-house expertise in advocacy, financing and campaigning with the unique insights of our many partners, we’re making progress on ensuring that everyone, everywhere has someone to turn to in support of their mental health. What will I be doing? 

This role will support the delivery of several activities within our portfolio of activities on climate change, the environment, and mental health. The four main areas of work that the Senior Officer will be responsible for include:

• Leading work with national partners (50% of post)

• Integration of people with lived experience (hereafter referred to as PWLE) across the portfolio (25% of post)

• Developing our advocacy on the intersection of air pollution and mental health (15% of post)

• Developing our advocacy on the intersection of biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)

National level work (50% of post)

A key component of the current project will be to support national partners in a subset of countries globally (approximately 6 countries) to advocate for action on climate change and mental health. The final set of countries is yet to be defined but will likely include one country per WHO region and one country from the Small Islands Developing States. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Lead in the selection of national partners in each country. This will include supporting the running of a competitive process to select one civil-society organisation based in each country to conduct the work

• Strengthen the capacity of national partners to work on climate change and mental health (e.g., via training to national partners to be delivered by the Senior Officer), if required

• Support national partners in advocating for the integration of mental health into climate policies, including but not limited to Nationally Determined Contributions, National Adaptation Plans, Heat Health Action Plans etc.

• Lead in cohort-building activities for this subset of countries (e.g., organising regular meetings, ensuring shared learnings etc.)

• With the support of our Operations team, support in the logistics of sub-contracting national partners and monitoring deliverables

Involvement of people with lived experience (25% of post)

The meaningful engagement of PWLE of mental health challenges is central to all work at United for Global Mental Health. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Leading on setting up and coordinating a Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG), which will meet every two months to provide guidance to UnitedGMH and national partners on their work on climate and health. The Senior Officer will be responsible for recruiting approximately 12 PWLE (2 x WHO region), organising regular meetings, and ensuring that the feedback of PWLE is integrated across different projects

• Support the attendance of PWLE to key global advocacy moments in a meaningful, safe, and impactful way

• Support national partners on the integration of lived experience considerations in their work on climate change and mental health 

Work on air pollution and mental health (15% of post)

The evidence on air pollution and mental health is a nascent, but rapidly growing, area of interest. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Scope what concrete opportunities exist for integrating mental health considerations into air pollution policies at the global, regional, and national levels 

• Build connections with organisations working on air pollution and clean air policies

• Refine our messaging on air pollution and mental health

• Lead on the production of one advocacy brief on air pollution and mental health

Work on biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)

There is emerging evidence on the association between biodiversity loss and mental health, but very little work has yet been done in the policy space. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

• Scoping what concrete opportunities exist for integrating mental health considerations into biodiversity policies at the global, regional, and national levels 

• Build connections with organisations working on biodiversity, conservation, and nature

• Refine our messaging on biodiversity and mental health

• Lead the production of one advocacy brief on pesticide use and suicide

• Lead on our engagement with the Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties (biodiversity COP)

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working on global mental health policy, advocacy, research, or practice

• Expertise in managing and engaging with multiple different types of stakeholders (e.g., civil society, UN agencies, governments etc.) 

• Experience working on co-creation, patient and public involvement (PPI), or working with people with lived experience of mental health problems

• Excellent project management skills and strong planning skills including attention to detail, critical thinking, multi-tasking and problem-solving

At the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future (ACFF) we are dedicated to helping the billions of people worldwide suffering from untreated caries. This suffering disproportionately affects people from disadvantaged population groups and costs the global economy an estimated $245 billion USD.

We work for better oral health for all through a number of interconnected programmes including advocating at global conferences and meetings, local groundwork throughout 28 volunteer Chapters, designing and recommending better oral health policies for national governments through our Policy Labs and more.

We are looking for a freelance Director of Operations and Finance to work for an average of 4 days a week for a total of 180 days a year. They will be part of the senior leadership team alongside the Chief Strategy and Advocacy Officer and the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy

● Deliver our Operations and Finance KPIs as outlined in the Charity’s strategy; as well as being jointly responsible for the successful implementation of the full strategy.

● Lead and shape the Operations department, making sure it’s fit for purpose and maximising resources.

● Work collaboratively with senior management to maximise the success of the charity.

About you

Essential Criteria

Finance Manager

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

To work with the Board, CEO and Deputy CEO to ensure efficient and effective financial management, including setting and monitoring budgets, producing financial reports, and overseeing day to day financial management, including payroll and bookkeeping via Quickbooks, and providing advice and guidance, to inform the development and delivery of AAFDA’s strategy and business plan.

To work with the CEO and Deputy CEO to ensure that AAFDA meets its funder obligations, including reporting on time, gathering data from across the team and compiling reports for CEO/Deputy CEO sign off.

To work with Trustees and staff to ensure AAFDA fulfils its legal and regulatory requirements, including; coordinating the implementation of health and safety, GDPR and other policies and procedures; leading on human resources support; and overseeing office management and IT. Note that specialist HR advice and support and IT are provided to AAFDA by external contractors.

The role provides and manages the HR, administration and finance activities of the Charity and sits within the Senior Leadership Team.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

· Ensuring the day-to-day financial and accounting operations (Quickbooks) are delivered and maintained.

· Administering and managing Payroll, expenses, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, managing the bank including reconciliations and other financial management.

· Managing AAFDA’s budget planning, monitoring and review and year-end accounts processes.

· Meeting AAFDA’s funder reporting deadlines, including oversight of the compilation of information for the funder and the provision of financial reports.

· Supporting the development of AAFDA’s strategy and business plan including providing financial projections and conducting risk analysis as and when required.

· Ensuring effective day-to-day management of book-keeping and financial administration.

· Ensuring financial, payroll and data protection policies and procedures comply with relevant legislation/regulations, reflect best practice and are applied throughout AAFDA, reporting non-compliance to the CEO and/or Deputy CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance:

· In conjunction with the Leadership team, undertake regular finance operational duties including;

- Preparation and setting of a three-year outline budget to accompany AAFDA’s three-year strategy.

- Preparation and setting of the annual budget.

- quarterly reviews – including cashflow and operational re-forecasts.

- Monthly management accounts and variance analysis.

· Prepare quarterly finance reports for the Board, including variance analysis, re-forecasts and ad-hoc reports, as necessary.

· Assist the third-party accountant with the preparation of year-end accounts.

· Manage and operate the internal finance and accounting systems and databases.

· Oversee delivery of payroll, through the use of third-party providers software and using the staff time management recording system.

· Manage all staff expense systems and ensure compliance with relevant AAFDA policies.

· Manage and operate a purchasing system and ensure appropriate levels of pre-expenditure financial authorisation are in place and followed and that suppliers are paid on a timely basis.

· Ensure that all receivables are billed and collected on a timely basis.

· Be the main contact with and management of, the day-to-day operations of the Charity’s banking arrangements, seeking secondary authorisations where required.

· Ensure compliance with HMRC, including monitoring VAT threshold, tax and gift aid, and undertake necessary returns where necessary.

· Commission specialist VAT and other financial advice as required and in conjunction with the Board and CEO/DCEO.

· Support and advise the Trustees, CEO, Deputy CEO and other Leadership Team colleagues with financial forecasting/planning, and allocation and funding of staff and other resources.

· Support Fundraising staff with preparing and managing grant applications and project budgets with the aim of ensuring a minimum of full-cost recovery and provide financial implementation data to enable the Charity to comply with any grant reporting obligations, including by creating and maintaining records of costs by grant received.

Effective Organisational Administration

· Oversee policy and procedure development and implementation, including safeguarding, data protection, Health and Safety, complaints, etc, in conjunction with other Leadership Team members.

· Conduct horizon scanning and recommend opportunities to revise policies and procedures to ensure legal/regulatory compliance and/or in line with best practice.

· Review, improve and ensure implementation of project management processes.

· Ensure appropriate equipment and infrastructure resources are in place for staff, volunteers and Trustees.

· Ensure insurance is in place for all activity and potential organisational risks.

· Continually improve and manage operational costs and budget.

· Collaborate with colleagues to ensure optimal use of the AAFDA customer relationship, case management, time recording, expense management and other operational systems.

Other

· To work with the Trustees, CEO/DCEO and staff to develop and implement the strategy and business plan.

· Provide support for effective governance.

· Take part in Leadership Team meetings.

· To work with the rest of the staff team to carry out any other task or project required from time to time, as directed by  the CEO or Deputy CEO.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

Experience

Experience of the range of financial management and management accounting, including analysis and commentary.

Experience of audits, invoices, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable and budget preparation.

Experience of working with and co-ordinating income and expenditure across multi-project budgets.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and some ad hoc schedules.

Knowledge

Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.

Working knowledge of using QuickBooks.

Knowledge of health and safety legislation and employment law.

Job description – Cara Funding and Communications Manager

This is a critical time to join our dedicated team as we expand our work in response to the growing risk to academics and universities worldwide. Building on our 93 years of experience and partnerships with 135 UK university, this role provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic fundraiser to grow our support from individual and organisations.

Line Manager: Chief Executive

Objective: The Funding and Communications Manger leads on the delivery of our fundraising strategy to diversify and grow Cara’s income streams.

Hours: Full-time. Eight hours each day Monday – Friday, with flexible working by arrangement around core hours of 10am – 4pm.

Location: Hybrid working - in London office in Elephant and Castle SE1 (2-3 set days per week) and working from home on the remaining days.

Role purpose - responsible for executing fundraising strategy to generate increased income for Cara’s work - identify and cultivate potential donors, manage fundraising events and campaigns, and ensure compliance with fundraising regulations. 

Detailed responsibilities:

· Fundraising Strategy and business plan:

Work closely with the Chief Executive to review and adapt our fundraising strategy and business plan and produce analytics to review performance by income type and to help set stretching and achievable targets and improvement plans for each income stream. Implement and develop fundraising plans, including initiation and management of campaigns. Take responsibility for developing new income streams and products including alumni and legacy giving.

· Relationship Building:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors, including individuals, major donors, and foundations. Work with the Cara team to ensure effective relationship management across all donors and lead on donor identification for all income streams. Identify opportunities for pro bono support in support of the Cara strategy.

· Event Management:

Organize and manage fundraising events, ensuring successful execution and high engagement with our target audiences. This includes a schedule of location-based university engagement events (up to twelve per year) to engage existing individual donors, build awareness of Cara’s work, and cultivate new individual donors. Collaborate with contacts at each university to plan, deliver and follow up on each event. Lead on other key Cara events including the annual science and civilisation lecture to ensure that these build the Cara brand.

· Data Management for donor stewardship:

Maintain accurate donor records (on salesforce) and build and maintain fundraising databases for individuals and organisational donors to manage engagement throughout the donor journey. Maintain a view of Cara’s pipeline income to support the work of the Cara management team and reports to support accountability and trustee engagement including return on investment for each income stream.

· Communication:

Prepare and distribute fundraising materials, including appeals, newsletters, social media content, and articles for the website. Develop a range of case-studies profiling the work of Cara (including programmes, university partners, and individual academics). Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive to build the Cara brand through co-ordination of Cara’s presence at events and through priority digital channels.

· Proposal writing

Lead on proposal writing for major donors and philanthropic funding. Collaborate with colleagues on larger grants taking responsibility to overall proposal quality and timely submission. Ensure that the team work to agreed standards on all written reports and proposals to donors.

· Compliance:

Adhering to fundraising regulations, such as those outlined by the Fundraising Regulator, and ensuring that all fundraising activities are ethical and legal. Develop policies and practices to manage risk including appropriate due diligence and gift acceptance policies.

· Trends

Stay up to date on signals and trends in fundraising relevant to Cara’s work and use these to inform our business planning and risk/opportunity management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

· Proven success implementing effective strategies to raise income from a range of donors with a focus on major donors.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to effectively communicate with donors including senior staff at universities.

· Strong writing and presentation skills: Developing winning proposals and presentations. Experience ranging from individual regular donors to six figure grants.

· Project management and organizational skills: Managing fundraising projects and campaigns effectively.

· Research and analytical skills: Identifying funding opportunities, analysing fundraising performance, and making data-driven decisions.

· Team working skills: ability to collaborate effectively with team without firm levers of management control. Ability to motivate and support non-fundraisers to work to best practice.

· Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices: Understanding the ethical and legal aspects of fundraising.

· Experience with fundraising software and databases: to manage donor information and track fundraising activities. Experience and/or willingness to learn to use salesforce.

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and curation to the FYT Leadership Team, and to lead the smooth running of the FYT Organisation which supports the wider FYT Movement. This will include coordinating the delivery of the strategic plan, leading fundraising, and working closely with the FYT Board to oversee the smooth running of the organisation.

Salary: £24,116 per annum (£40,194 pro rata) + 9% pension

6. Provide Line Management support and supervision to the other members of the Leadership Team.
7. Develop, implement and monitor FYT’s strategic plan in partnership with the FYT team and board
8. Engage in practical theological reflection on FYT’s mission and how it is expressed.
9. Attend and contribute as required to Board meetings, working closely with the Chair and Board to ensure that appropriate issues are raised, and that any agreed action is put into effect.
10. Be an advocate for marginalised young people, the issues they face, and youth workers and projects working with them (pursuing prophetic mischief, provocation, and taking up our unique space in the youth ministry community).
11. Make links with appropriate Christian, voluntary and statutory bodies and to represent FYT in appropriate forums and pursue opportunities for collaborative working.
12. Support the active promotion of the FYT training and resource offer.
13. Lead the monitoring and evaluation (impact assessment) of FYT’s work

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
• Engagement in ongoing, regular youth work with marginalised young people is not a requirement of this post, but encouraged. FYT will be flexible where possible in order to facilitate this.
