Your role

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.

We seek someone who aligns with the DfG mission, has a passion for fundraising and can strategise and deliver new initiatives. The fundraiser will collaborate with program staff, and senior management to develop leads, compelling proposals and reports. The working environment is informal, team-oriented, and encourages individual input and development. Thereby supporting the execution of DfG’s impact driven program to improve life through design. This position reports to the Managing Director of Design for Good.

Key Responsibilities

· Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, program officers, and key stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for grant inquiries, reporting, and communications. 

· Research: Identify and explore funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential donors whose interests align with our programs. Regularly monitor donor databases and other sources for announcements and opportunities.

· Applications & Fundraising Development: Lead the creation of high-quality grant proposals and letters of inquiry in collaboration with program staff, ensuring they are compelling, well-structured, and tailored to donor priorities. 

· Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all grants meet donor regulations, reporting requirements, and deadlines. Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and financial impact.

· Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the success of fundraising efforts, monitor progress toward revenue goals, and use data analysis to identify trends and inform strategy, providing regular updates and insights.

· Events, Networking, and Representation: Organize fundraising events and oversee volunteer and partner teams. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and boost resource mobilization.

This key role involves delivering a grants portfolio to support the strategic aims of Veterans and Family Services. Working alongside the Senior Trusts Manager, you will be responsible for generating income from trusts, foundations, and corporate partnerships at the 5- and 6-figure level. The core grant fundraising programme is well-established, with regular funds from military charities and other trusts and foundations. As Trust and Corporate Fundraising Manager, you will: 

• Support the development and delivery of the fundraising plan, proactively researching and pursuing new income opportunities, with targets for fundraising applications to trusts & foundations and corporate foundations. (Account Management 60%, New Business 40%)
• Develop strategic and collaborative relationships with funders to maximise income and ensure excellent supporter care with a team target of £770k
• Write and submit compelling, evidence-based funding applications, targeted to the priorities and criteria of the funder

Purpose of the post

• Support the Programme Manager to oversee effective and consistent delivery, performance, and quality assurance across the health settings, working with the Director of Services and other leaders to enhance and develop the offer. • Lead Redthread teams delivering services, ensuring that Redthread’s models of intervention are delivered consistently and appropriately to all young people accessing the services.

Community Engagement Manager

Role overview

The British Science Association's mission is to transform the diversity and inclusivity of science. We want more people, especially those from groups that are currently underrepresented in science, to feel that science is relevant to their lives. The BSA’s Community Engagement programmes focus on reaching people who are underrepresented in science and research.

The Community Engagement Manager will specialise in growing, diversifying, and supporting our community engagement programmes.

The role will develop, manage and deliver high quality programmes by supporting community organisers and community-researcher partnerships. This will include programmes focusing on community engagement with science and research, as well as participatory grant making.

This role would suit someone with an interest in public engagement with science and research and experience of community engagement, capacity building and partnership working.

Key responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role are:

• Extend the BSA’s engagement with grassroot community organisations and communities underserved by science and research.
• Help to grow the BSA’s Community Engagement programmes portfolio and support the BSA’s Community Engagement Network.
• Enable and support community engagement with British Science Week, including managing the British Science Week Community Grant Scheme.
• Project manage existing and new programmes that develop and support community-researcher partnerships and/or enable community organisers to embed science engagement and research in their work.
• Provide delivery support to the Community Led Research Pilot (CLRP).
• Provide capacity building and development support to our delivery partners and participants in our grant programmes to overcome challenges they may face in delivering their projects.
• Line manage a Community Engagement Officer and provide effective management across projects and programmes.
• Deliver against agreed budgets and timelines.
• Work with the Head of Community Engagement in line with the BSA’s 10-year strategy to:
• increase opportunities for those underrepresented in science and research to engage with our programmes,
• develop new partnerships to support new and ongoing grant and capacity building programmes to create positive impacts for communities,
• increase community voice and representation in the science engagement, research and innovation sectors.

In addition, the post-holder will be expected to:

• Support the Head of Community Engagement to proactively strengthen the organisation’s profile and reputation among external partners and stakeholders.
• Work closely with the Head of Community Engagement, other managers and teams (particularly The Ideas Fund) to develop new programmes and improve existing ones and share best practice in community engagement across the organisation and with the wider sector.
• Support with writing funding bids that lead to the growth of the community engagement portfolio.
• Seek meaningful feedback from the communities that will be affected by planned activities (e.g. underserved audiences).
• Other duties as reasonably required by the line manager.

The Digital Transformation Manager will work with teams across the organisation to consider how in every aspect of THET’s work we can transform our use of technology to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness, improve inclusivity and equity, and whilst reducing our carbon footprint.

Digital Transformation is a key enabler for the organisation to help advance access to health services in low-and-middle-income countries, via activities such as building online communities, online learning for health workforces in complex and humanitarian settings, e-health, amongst others.

This role will require engagement across the different departments of THET including programmes, and research, evidence and learning, and external engagement, as well as engaging with external stakeholders to drive and raise visibility of this agenda. This is an external-facing role - the ideal candidate will be able to translate their technical digital skills to non-technical experts both in the UK and different cultures around the world.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.

Supported by a public health development officer, train the trainer (1 based in England and 1 based in Scotland), who you’ll also line manage, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of the in-person programme, including marketing materials, resource packs and ongoing support for trainees. You’ll also identify opportunities, agree timescales and associated logistics for training delivery within the pilot areas.

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in leading on the development and delivery of insightful and engaging workshops or public health focused projects, to a range of audiences from health or community-based organisations. The right candidate will have a good understanding of health inequalities, the challenges they present to health behaviours and outcomes, and be passionate about addressing these challenges. Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP) aims to develop the health workforce (HWF) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Somaliland supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards UHC.

Grants for UK-LMIC and cross-LMIC health partnerships will be awarded to respond to national HWF priorities identified through a scoping assessment carried out by THET with DHSC, FCDO, national Governments and stakeholders (such as local World Health Organisation offices). These grants will run until December 2025.   

With a strong focus on building local ownership and sustainability, these partnerships will contribute to the following programmatic outcomes:

1. Partnerships contributing towards improved health workforce leadership capacity aligned with health workforce strategies, that will support reduction in gender inequalities.

2. Partnerships aligning with and contributing towards retention and wellbeing strategies.

3. Improved number and quality of training opportunities for health workers.

4. Co-developed and documented learning on health workforce interventions shared with key national and international stakeholders.

THET will award 28-36 strategic grants of £100,000 – £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and outputs outlined above. The grants will broadly be split across the six countries; however, the exact split is dependent on the number and quality of applications received and broader priorities.   

20-28 smaller grants of up to £50,000 will also be available for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, diaspora engagement, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.   

Grants will be available to UK-LMIC health partnerships and LMIC-LMIC health partnerships. There are no institutional eligibility criteria as long as ODA rules are followed, so grants can be awarded to healthcare providers, royal colleges, universities, professional associations, NGOs, alliances, diaspora networks etc, but not to Ministry of Health departments.

This document serves as a Terms of Reference for the type of work the THET Administrative Support should expect to carry out as part of this.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee consultants’ invoicing and payments process and staff expense claims

· Prompt consultants to send invoices at the end of the month

· Review receipts and time claimed against contract and allowable expenses, file documents and send to Programme Manager for approval

· Monitor consultants’ time and expenses in trackers

· Review expense claims from THET staff related to GHWP, file documents and send to Programme Manager for approval

· Follow up with Finance team regarding payments

2. Oversee the National Oversight Mechanism invoicing and payments process

· Prompt in-country Admin Assistants to send invoices to NOM upon completion of activities, and follow up if necessary

· Admin Assistants will check receipts and time claimed against honoraria agreements and allowable expenses and send to Programme Manager for approval, cc’ing Admin Support

· Monitor payments in tracker

· Follow up with Finance team regarding payments

3. Provide support to recruitment/contracting process

· Support with developing/adapting recruitment documents (application log, creating folders in Sharepoint)

· Support with drafting contracts based on information provided by Programme Manager/Coordinator

4. Provide support to reporting process

· Support with development of templates and updating basic information in the report

· Proofread and format reports before finalisation and submission by the Programme Manager

5. Support the Programmes Manager and Programmes Coordinator

· Provide ad hoc administrative and logistical support to the team as required

· Support with filing documents in Sharepoint

· Support with drafting briefings

· Support with setting up meetings and comprehensive note-taking

About the role

We are happy to consider people who want to work full-time (35 hours), or four days per week (28 hours).

Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:

• To seek out, qualify and secure new foundations to build a sustainable high value new donor and sponsorship pipeline
• Manage pool of foundations, focusing on maximising their support and finding new opportunities to grow their involvement
• Capitalise on the expertise and networks of MQ’s senior volunteers, including working closely with MQ trustees and other Development Team colleagues to maximise existing opportunities for introductions, including the Lord Mayor’s Appeal
• To lead the development of new fundraising proposals for priority fundraising projects, including potential research partnership opportunities where MQ collaborates on a joint bid with another institution
• To carry out targeted and systematic research to establish new high value prospects utilising existing networks, the MQ database, search engines and referrals

About you

This role is for you, if you have fundraising experience with grants and foundations as well as corporate fundraising and/or new business acquisition experience. This means you will have experience in stewarding and securing new gifts from foundations as well as researching new opportunities to apply for funds.

You will also be skilled in understanding and translating complex information and turning it in to compelling written proposals, for grants, corporate partnerships and major donors.

You will be driven to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.

We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-orientated.

Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

The Communications Planning Manager leads the organisation’s internal and external communication planning and is the key partner and first point of contact for colleagues briefing in marketing and communication activities. 

You’ll lead the organisation’s internal and external communications planning, including an organisation wide communications calendar. You’ll work with colleagues to define their goals, understand their audiences, develop a great communications brief and then help deliver their campaign by coordinating resources and expertise from across the Marketing and Communications team. The projects are varied and you’ll work across fundraising, campaigning, policy and influencing, research, patient services, healthcare professionals and corporate partnerships. You’ll also lead how we communicate with our own internal staff team.

Equally comfortable working with internal and external audiences, you’ll be a strategic thinker and a communications all-rounder. With an understanding of how press and PR, social media, web, email, brand, content and internal communications all contribute to a great communications campaign. You’ll have excellent communication planning skills and a talent for building relationships with colleagues and partners at all levels.

The role:

This person will have responsibility for the management, maintenance and improvement of the 185 acres of sports, nature areas, heritage parkland and gardens for the benefit of the local community and beyond. This will involve extensive horticultural management responsibilities in addition to a broad range of support, logistical and administrative activities. These will include extensive stakeholder engagement, contract management, finance and budgeting, public health and safety, procurement and team member management and development. This is a very broad role with a wide array of systems management and day to day park management responsibilities. This person will also be a true ambassador for the Park, both with members of the public and those who come into contact with the Park professionally.

The person:

The successful candidate will have extensive Park Management experience in a similar sized public park or community green space. They will have experience of managing service contracts, managing in-house teams, developing volunteer and outreach programs and ideally, of successfully applying for Grant funding in similar spaces and delivering on these agreements. A warm and approachable person, the ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Park management and involving the public in regular use and patronage of these special green spaces. This person will also be numerate and well-organised with good logistical, administrative and back office management experience.

This person’s role as an ambassador for the Gunnersbury Park can not be overstated, this will be a core aspect of the role and we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys managing big public parks, green spaces, bio-diversity and preserving these spaces for future generations.

Overall purpose

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Your focus will be to maintain our high reputation and build engagement with key audiences – principally target public audiences, corporate partners, funders and supporters, volunteers, clients, and staff. 

Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. You will be comfortable supporting colleagues to deliver activity as well as working independently on your own projects. You will have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the right policies, frameworks and plans are in place for our small team to achieve ambitious plans.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for campaigns, PR, content and storytelling, brand and creative, and plays an integral role in internal communications. They also support other external engagement activities, such as digital marketing campaigns, corporate partner acquisition and retention, and public fundraising.

Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials. 

You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.

The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.
