A fantastic opportunity has arisen to play a vital role at Cure Parkinson’s, as our Research Grants Officer. This role will be responsible for supporting research scientists who are applying for grants or are carrying out funded research for us. This work is critical for us to achieve the charity’s main objective of funding Parkinson’s research to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

As our Research Grants Officer you will be comfortable building relationships and providing support for researchers. You will be an effective member of our pioneering Research Team, ultimately helping us to drive scientific discovery forward and bring us closer to a cure.

This role involves managing key operational and governance functions, supporting the Executive Director and President, and ensuring the smooth running of various committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The Executive Administrator will also assist with the ABN fellowship scheme.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Administrator

Executive & Governance Support

• Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and President.
• Manage the President’s inbox, responding to or escalating queries as appropriate.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, including preparing agendas and drafting and distributing minutes.
• Process and track expense claims for the Council and Executive team.
• Organise bookings for the President, including travel, hotels, and restaurants.

Committee & Fellowship Support

• Provide full administrative support to the Services Committee, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and taking minutes.
• Undertake projects for the Services Committee as required, including data analysis
• Assist Governance & Grants Manager with the administration of the ABN Fellowship Programme, including maintaining records and supporting application and review processes.
• Liaise with Special Interest Groups (SIGs) on behalf of ABN

Financial & Operational Support

• Ensure office supplies are maintained, including stationery and consumables
• Assist with financial administration, including processing expenses and payments.
• Liaise with finance teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Deputise for Website & Finance Officer in their absence
• Assist with budget tracking and financial reporting as required.

The ABN has a small office team, and all staff members are required to take on duties outside of their main job description from time to time.

We are looking for an experienced Grants Commissioning Manager to join our Grants & Commissioning Team based in Portsmouth. The Commissioning Manager will support the Head of Commissioned Grants with all elements of the commissioning cycle including understanding need, designing projects, performance management of delivery and reporting of impact as well as providing and developing commissioning and project support, in line with RNRMC’s commissioning and partnership funding model.The role will work with internal and external stakeholders regarding the performance of grants programmes to ensure quality, evidenced outputs, and value for money of projects.

In addition, you may be asked to line manage team members, taking responsibility for actively and proactively supporting them to achieve in their post.

Battersea's Global Programmes Department are looking for a passionate individual to join the team as Grants and Programmes Associate.

The Grants and Programmes Associate will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea, focusing on the UK portfolio. The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing and regulatory body for horseracing in Great Britain. The Finance department are looking to recruit an integral new role as Finance, Grants and Contracts Business Partner, reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner.

This role will manage all BHA led and coordinated stakeholder grant applications to industry funders (including HBLB, Racing Foundation). This will involve managing the grant process from application through to drawdown and reporting to funders (including coordinating KPIs). Support with internal monthly management accounts reporting, as well as the key industry forums such as the Industry Programme Board.

You will be responsible in leading the proactive management of the BHA’s major contracts including LGC (equine drug testing) and Weatherby’s (Racing administration).

Operational finance support will also be required for routine monthly transactional posting, Ad-hoc finance department tasks and projects including support of business partners.

The successful candidate will be highly organised with an ability to multitask and deal with high volumes of work. About the role

We are delighted to have received three-year funding from the Aviva Foundation to fund this brand-new Grants Officer role based in London.

You’ll be part of our Programmes team supporting kinship carers in London to access grants which will help reduce financial stress. This could be grants to buy things like white goods and uniforms or accessing Buttle grants to support children growing up in kinship care.

As Grants Officer you’ll talk to kinship carers, discuss their needs, their priorities and then write charitable grant applications on their and their family’s behalf. 

You will oversee and deliver the grants process, including co-ordinating the purchase of items (such as children’s clothes, beds or washing machines), collecting receipts for items as required by the funders and liaising with all teams to ensure timely receipt of funds within the charity and to the kinship carers.

Building relationships with funders is core, sharing the impact of the grants and insight about the lives of kinship families in London. You’ll work closely with Programmes, Peer Support, Training and Advice colleagues who work with kinship families in London.

You will also create and run online and face-to-face workshops and clinics, helping kinship carers to understand how to apply for other grants, thereby encouraging resilience and confidence to apply for grants themselves.

You will be a proactive and persuasive relationship builder, able to create partnerships with a range of organisations and peer support groups that support kinship families.

You’ll build trusting and respectful relationships with kinship carers who you will work one-to-one with in community settings. And you’ll build relationships with a range of grant giving organisations across London.

We’re looking for someone who can really deliver impact and demonstrate how embedding this role into the community helps to unlock funding and support for kinship carers at a local level.

The type of person we’re looking for

Kinship carers are at the heart of all we do. This role could be the difference between a kinship carer being able to dress their child for school properly, being able to buy a fridge, take a first holiday to the seaside… or going without.

We are looking for someone who is really organised and who is able to capture and present information clearly in a persuasive grant application. The successful applicant will be compassionate, empathetic, and organised. We are looking for someone who understands the needs of kinship families.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering our new grants service across London.
• Meeting performance targets and KPIs as directed.
• Working with kinship carers and their families across London to gather information to complete and submit grant applications.
• Administering grants we secure for our kinship carers and carry out all the necessary administration related to grants.
• Undertaking research to identify funders and build excellent relationships with local grant making charities in order to increase support for kinship families.
• Delivering grant workshops at peer support groups sharing information about locally available grants and providing advice and support on making a successful application.
• Running face-to-face grant clinics within peer support groups or community venues in London, working directly with kinship carers to write and submit requests for grants.

Essential criteria includes:

• Experience of speaking to vulnerable people on the telephone, face-to-face and online, and gathering information with empathy and understanding.
• Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their families in face-to-face and community settings.
• Experience of running online and face-to-face workshops. 
• An understanding of budgeting, managing money, income and expenditure.
• Proven understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a non-judgmental approach.
• Evidence of awareness of safeguarding issues and good practice. 
• Experience of organising and prioritising a busy workload without close supervision.
• Proven clear understanding of the need to keep grants records and communication with kinship carers and funders up to date.
• Excellent research and writing skills.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Head of Grants Management to join our Financial Planning & Analysis unit which provides timely financial planning and reporting across the whole organisation. Managing a small team, you will deliver first class financial support on over 160 grants and £32m of expenditure. This will involve overseeing the outgoing grant lifecycle, including due diligence on grantees, preparation of grant agreements and amendments as well as managing the timing of payments.

As Head of Grants Management, you will lead on our grant management processes and ensure these are compliant with our standards and policies. In addition, you will provide advice and analysis to colleagues to help them deliver successful, impactful programmes. We will look to you to monitor the status of grants and provide commentary on monthly variances as well as check foreign exchange exposure on grants, collaborating with colleagues to mitigate losses. You will also provide training and advice to grant issuing teams to help ensure that budgets are well managed and ensure they have the information and support needed to make well-informed financial management decisions. Important will be the ability to conduct due diligence on new grantees, follow up on due diligence actions and review due diligence annually on existing grantees. You will play a key role in the design and implementation of a new Grants Management System too.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Hands on experience in grant management.
• Significant experience in managing, leading and coaching a team.
• Accountancy qualification (part or fully qualified) or qualified by experience with exposure to compliance activities such as due diligence.
• Experience in, and a passion for excellence in, process management, and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Training and capacity building skills.

Purpose

To provide high-quality administrative and technical support for the delivery of our member services, with a particular focus on the operational management and ongoing development of our membership database (CRM) and accreditation/assessment systems.

You will work closely with the Membership Manager within the membership team, and also collaborate with colleagues across other functions such as events, publications, and operations. You may also liaise with our external systems technical support provider to deliver projects and solutions that ensure the best possible experience for our members

What you will be doing:

•  Provide excellent customer service to members, ensuring they are aware of and can access their full range of membership benefits.
•  Act as first line of response for enquiries to the membership team, including monitoring the enquiries inbox.
• Manage applications for individual and corporate membership, including working with the Admissions Committee to approve new applications and ensure the journey from application to member runs smoothly.
• Maintain the CRM database of members and organisations, ensuring the data held is as accurate.
• Create and share reports from member data for various internal stakeholders including the Membership Manager, Operations Manager, Association Council and the EDI working group.
• Troubleshoot system issues that may arise (notably in relation to members’ data, access, payments etc), working with the Membership Manager and our systems technical support.
• Support the Membership Manager in delivering plans and projects to  recruit and retain members.
• Assist with the delivery of the Association of Clinical Scientists’ (ACS) Certificate of Attainment assessment programme.
• Help coordinate and deliver scheduled and ad hoc activities arising from our committees and working groups, including grant programmes, trade union support, European registration, and the Mentoring Programme
• As we are a small staff team you will also be asked to support other team members with tasks outside of this job role from time to time.

Waterloo Uncovered is the ground-breaking charity that combines world-class archaeology with veteran recovery and wellbeing.  Since 2015 we have been supporting veterans and serving military personnel, through programmes centred around the archaeology of the Waterloo battlefield.  For example, learning archaeological skills through excavation on the battlefield supported by a wellbeing team, bringing the artefacts discovered at Waterloo to beneficiaries in their community, or supporting beneficiaries to explore archaeology and history of conflict through our online programme.  All our programmes link conflicts past to conflict present, as beneficiaries uncover, recover and discover.  

As Administrative Assistant you will be part of our small, dynamic, and passionate team, which is supported by an extensive network of volunteers.  You will work closely with the Chief Executive on all aspects of our administration in support of our operational delivery, communications, fundraising and outreach.

Key responsibilities:

• Programme administration, engaging directly in support of beneficiaries for onboarding, logistics and follow up, answering enquiries and general tasks.

• Customer service, responding to email and telephone enquiries and correspondence.

• Database and spreadsheet management, including managing contacts and suppliers, as well as donor and volunteer data on our CRM system and digital filing.

• Processing financial and accounting requirements, including invoices, payroll, expenses and supplier payments.

• Virtual office support, arranging meetings and team events, providing secretariat to Trustee Board, office contracts, suppliers and administration.

• Researches as requested, complies and summarises information for drafting applications for grants and trusts, managing fundraising pipeline and tracking, reporting schedules and reports.

• Administration of social media accounts, support to drafts of newsletter and impact reports, and other communication initiatives.

• Event administration, including bookings, logistics and support to outreach and event delivery.

What you will need

• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to present a professional and positive image for the organisation.

• Ability to work under pressure, with accuracy and minimal supervision, with a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.

• Data management and entry skills, including the ability to maintain and improve data and information digital filing systems, with accurate record keeping.

• Digital literacy,  proficiency on google suite, microsoft, and social media (e.g. linkedin, facebook), able to present information accurately and clearly.

• Excellent organisational, time management and collaborative skills, able to work with a range of stakeholders.

• Experience of working within the charity or similar sector in an administrative role.

• Communications and / or social media experience.

Key responsibilities

· To be responsible for a range of administration tasks that will support key charity functions at H&F Giving including fundraising, communications, events, grants and finance administration

· To support in delivering marketing and communications activities such as events and social media to key audiences, such as supporters, volunteers, corporate and non-profit partners

· To be the first point of contact for callers and visitors both over the phone and in person (when based in the office) including responding to queries from current and prospective supporters and grantees.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East Rivers Trust's Finance and Operations Team.  We are a small dynamic team, sitting at the heart of the organisation. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation.  The successful applicant will come from a financial background with a strong understanding of financial principles, an accounting qualification and proficiency in Excel.  They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses. 

The role would suit an individual, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.  The role involves liaising and following up with all teams to ensure the data provided is accurate and timely, to support grant applications, payments and audit requirements.

To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, be proactive and have excellent communication skills, following up and advising staff across all teams.  They will need to have a positive attitude, and willingness to assist the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required.  This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week, (on a Thursday), working in the office in Leatherhead.

This is a part time position, (of 3 or 4 days per week), to include Monday and Thursday (this being our in office day).  There may be a requirement to pick up additional hours to support with busy periods.
