About the role
As our Institutional Partnerships Manager, you will:

Proactively seek and secure high value funding from trusts and institutional donors worth over £1m per annum.

Lead development of high-quality proposals, coordinating input from other teams, including proposal writing, budget planning and contract management.

With the Head of Institutional Partnerships, proactively develop and maintain a high-quality pipeline, building strategic relationships with key organisations and funders.

Work closely with the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Adviser, enabling teams and the Programmes team to develop efficient impact measurement and accountability mechanisms for proposed grants.

Coordinate due diligence processes, facilitate donor audits and external evaluations in collaboration with internal teams.

Drive the external profile of the Foundation by representing TRF in networks, forums, and project consortia.

Support the development of annual income and expenditure budgets/forecasts for institutional fundraising, prepare reports and give presentations on funding progress.

Be at the fore front of latest donor trends and share knowledge across the organisation.

Work at pace with strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
About You
To be our Institutional Partnerships Manager, you will likely have:

Over 6 years’ experience of securing and managing grants valued at over £500,000 from institutional donors.

At least 6 years’ experience of working with institutional donors such as the FCDO, EC, USAID, US State Department, Multi-laterals, and trusts and foundations, in a fundraising and/or programme capacity.

Experience of delivering ambitious income targets and comfortable working in a performance
-
management culture.

Excellent research skills and market knowledge of leading funding organisations.

Fluent in English (verbal and written) and excellent writing skills.

Over 6 years’ experience working in an international development organisation.

Proficient IT skills, more specifically Excel.

This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) – Manager Level, part time (28 hours – 4 days per week). We have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at our Colchester offices. Position: Senior Grant and Trust Fundraiser

The Role
You will be instrumental in securing the funding, which the organisation needs to continue to deliver and develop its services, across a wide range of functions and projects. You will be an entrepreneurial, knowledgeable fundraiser, adept at finding the right opportunities to fit the right projects. You will also be meticulous and organised in your approach to stewardship, maintaining contact with funders and working with colleagues to collate the information needed for reporting.
The fundraising strategy contains plans to further develop specific areas of fundraising such as individual giving, corporate partnerships and legacies, and you may be called upon to support the Head of Fundraising in putting plans together for the implementation of these, working alongside the Senior Administrator (Fundraising and Communications).
About You
You will have experience in a fundraising, philanthropy or relationship management role and a track record of success in securing at least five-figure donations from grant and trust funders.
You will have:
· Knowledge of digital fundraising approaches
· Outstanding writing and communication skills
· The ability to understand financial language and budgets
· Strong research and prospecting skills
· The capacity to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
· Experience of measuring impact and delivering evaluation reports

As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will advise, develop and implement a strategy to secure income, and build a sustainable income stream, from charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies as part of the overall fundraising strategy. You will proactively prospect research to identify potential charitable trusts, National Lottery and statutory bodies funding streams with a view to securing restricted and unrestricted income for core activity and for new programmes of work. You will lead on the preparation of funding bids, planning and managing the process, working with the Director of Communications and Fundraising and/or the Head of Fundraising as appropriate.
