About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Trusts and Philanthropy fundraiser, to manage a portfolio of high level funders, whose support is vital to the work of Become.

Working closely with the Trusts and Philanthropy Manager and the wider Fundraising team, the postholder will research potential funders, write compelling grant applications, and build strong relationships with funders to ensure continued and increased support. They will have a strong track record of securing five/six-figure funding from trusts and foundations, and other giving vehicles, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home. In-person attendance at some meetings will be expected approximately once or twice every month, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. Additionally, as a charity providing services to England Become covers the cost of travel within England for essential in-person meetings. We are open to conversations about flexible working arrangements.

Libraries Unlimited is seeking two motivated and dynamic Climate Community Outreach Officers to help deliver of our Together for Tomorrow initiative – an ambitious five-year project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and in partnership with Resource Futures.

Together for Tomorrow aims to empower communities across Devon to take meaningful, sustainable action to address climate change while improving wellbeing and social cohesion. From repair cafes and community fridges to sustainable gardening and outreach to under-represented groups, this project puts people and place at the heart of climate resilience.

This is a permanent position, supported by National Lottery funding for an initial 5-year period. We are committed to the long-term vision for this post, recognising that libraries play an important role in empowering communities to take steps in climate action, and are committed to exploring further funding to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project.

At Working Options, we are keenly aware that talent exists in all parts of society, and yet opportunities are not available to all. We aim to help all young people in the UK to transform their career and life chances. In 2024 we delivered in-person activities for 73,000 young people and engaged 2.5 million with digital content. We are proud of the impact our small, dedicated team has, and we can only achieve this success with committed volunteers, schools and funding partners who value the services we offer.

We were founded in Luton in 2012, and in 2024 following a generous grant from the Moondance Foundation we launched our work in Wales. So far, we have supported 20,000 Welsh students in a quarter of Welsh secondary schools. By 2029 we aim to be working in all state secondary schools across the country.

We are looking for a strategic lead to take our work in Wales to the next level. With oversight of our Wales Accelerator, the postholder will develop relationships with funders, media, government, and other key players to open doors for our work across Wales. You will listen and respond to local needs to direct our operational work on the ground.

Success in this role will be measured by our increased profile, new partnerships and income secured to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our work in Wales.

We are flexible about whether this is a full-time or part-time position. The postholder will work closely with me and our Trustees, our key Advisors and Ambassadors (high-profile and well-connected individuals from a range of sectors), as well as our Head of Programme and delivery team for Wales. Your contribution to our work will be critical to our success, maximising the number of businesses, individuals and schools joining our movement to help all young people in Wales achieve career success.

About the Role

About You

About the role
Reporting to the Trusts & Foundations Manager, you will provide comprehensive support in trusts and foundations fundraising. You will manage a portfolio of four-figure donors, maintain the fundraising database, and help build a pipeline of new trusts and foundations aligned with the charity’s priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with funders, managing your own portfolio.

About Quest for Learning
Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. Many of the children we support are growing up in poverty, with limited access to books, low parental literacy, and challenging home environments. Some face health inequalities, live in areas affected by crime, or have recently arrived in the UK as refugees or asylum seekers.

Role Purpose

This is a hands-on and outward-facing role for a confident, capable fundraiser ready to lead Quest for Learning’s income generation efforts.
