The Finance Officer will join a small and dynamic team that covers Finance, Human Resources, IT and Business Operations. The Finance & Operations team play a critical role by running the day-to-day operations and providing the infrastructure that enables the continued delivery of the Trust’s mission and objectives.

The Sutton Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer to join the team and provide crucial support on a range of key finance processes. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role that requires an understanding of basic finance processes. You can expect a steep learning curve in a passionate and supportive working environment.

We have recently introduced a new accounting system and are looking for someone who is willing to learn, make the most of the improved technology and contribute to automating (and improving) our finance processes. The Team

This role will fit into the small Finance & Operations team and will be line managed by the Finance Manager.

Main Duties

• Maintaining the Purchase Ledger including processing supplier invoices, staff expense claims, grant and bursary payments, reconciling statements and making the relevant payments
• Maintaining the Sales Ledger including raising invoices and allocating receipts
• Cash management including checking bank transactions daily, allocating transactions on the accounting system and producing regular bank reconciliations. Paying in cheques and reconciling floats, if required
• Maintaining accurate records of both unrestricted and restricted fund transactions including receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash
• Providing timely and accurate financial support to the Programmes, Development and Research teams to assist them with forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and (donor) reporting
• Supporting with the month end procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, month end adjustments, salary and overhead allocations
• Gathering monthly payroll information and reviewing monthly payroll reports
• Assisting with the administration of the pension scheme and of employee benefits
• Preparing quarterly Gift Aid claims and maintaining the relevant supporting documentation
• Assisting with the year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit and budget setting process
• Ensuring that the filing is done in a timely manner and that all paperwork is up to date
• Proactively updating your own knowledge in relation to the role, identifying and undertaking appropriate training
• Keeping up to date with legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the role and the Trust’s work

We are looking for an individual, who can demonstrate:

• Excellent numeracy skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience of working in a busy finance department with responsibility for similar tasks

• Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and may also be required to attend events / meetings outside of their normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends

We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is a community-based position working from home but covering the Yorkshire and Durham areas, ideally based in the York area. About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst to join a small team working in our Financial Planning & Analysis unit. The team work together to provide financial support and advice across a wide portfolio of programmes with a variety of funding sources.

As Senior Finance Analyst you will help support the financial management of projects, programmes and donor restricted funds. This will involve formulating and setting budgets, preparing financial reports and forecasts, and managing donor financial audit processes. You will challenge and help budget holders deliver realistic budgets and forecasts for cost centres and projects as well as document reasoning and underlying assumptions for stakeholders. You will clarify any variances too. We will look to you to provide regular financial information across the portfolio, including tracking spending across programme workstreams and cost centres, maintaining fund reporting schedules and reporting forex movements across the portfolio. You will also support a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practice and developing and streamlining processes. Important will be the ability to assist with capability building across our Network partners as well as deputise for the Head of Programmes Finance where needed.

We’re looking for someone with:

· Accountancy experience & ideally part or fully qualified.

· Experience of preparing donor bids & reports, knowledge of donor rules and regulations for high-compliance donors would be an advantage.

· Significant experience of providing financial reports & information to non-finance staff & supporting them in the management of budgets.

· Experience of delivering against monthly recurring deadlines.

· Good knowledge of finance applications (preferably Business Central).

· Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Purpose of the role

We have a brilliant new opportunity for an exceptional leader to join our team, to help shape the provision of our advice, information and guidance programmes and ensuring the successful delivery of a range of priority partnerships.

· Be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of operations & programmes, overseeing and directing interconnected projects ensuring consistency in programme and project work.

· For 2025/26 this will focus on the roll out of our Information, Advice & Guidance programmes and extended brief intervention programmes to the public via digital tools to a mass audience and to underserved groups.

· The post holder will be required to manage a small dedicated team ensuring that robust project plans, clear goals, timelines and resources are established and managed as well dependencies within and between projects.

· Act as a Safeguarding Officer ensuring safeguarding is embedded within all programme delivery.

Warrington Foodbank is a charity primarily focussed on the relief of financial hardship amongst people in Warrington and the surrounding area. Particularly, but not exclusively through the provision of food, essential toiletries and household items to individuals and families in need.

We operate the largest crisis food operation within the borough, serving thousands of individuals and families each year who have no other option but to access emergency food supplies.

The charity also delivers an affordable food operation branded as our “Little Shop” pantries and mobile “Vantry”. Our food pantries offer access to high quality, affordable food, with the aim of preventing people from both reaching crisis point by providing more choices to quality food and household items, whilst also giving those who are experiencing crisis a viable, dignified alternative and opportunity to thrive instead of just survive.

You will organise the Tour de Vale Bike Ride plus other fundraising events at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, source runners for a range of third-party events including the Great North Run and help them reach their fundraising targets, identify and develop opportunities for community groups and local companies to support the charity and lead and manage our schools fundraising programme.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you’ll be an integral member of our staff team who are committed to providing an excellent supporter and donor experience.

We are looking for a friendly and organised individual with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from sponsorship-based events or community fundraising along with experience of preparing activities to recruit, engage, inspire and retain supporters.

Main purpose

To lead WheelPower’s community and events fundraising programme.

The Head of Operations and Projects will oversee the infrastructure of our charity. This position will involve fostering a motivated and engaged volunteer base, strategic oversight of our BUBR Africa initiative and conducting impact analysis of our activations. About the Program

The Europe Regional Finance program has evolved out of our Financial Regulation and Policy Program that began in 2019 with a narrow focus on European central banks. Since then, we've expanded to shape financial regulation and policy globally to accelerate clean energy and create lasting systemic change in how public finance addresses climate challenges. Now the Europe Regional Finance program will focus on EU Policy and Finance and UK Policy and Finance. 

About The Role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to achieving the objectives in the EU Financial Policy and Regulation project, specifically the work on public finance, fiscal policy and industrial strategy. Together with partners and allies, this role will help stop the political polarisation of net zero and contribute to building the broader case for public investment by establishing and propagating a narrative linking the opportunities of the clean energy transition with improving conditions for households and communities. This role sees the big picture and can translate it into actionable plans for maximum impact.

We support networks of organisations to work together to achieve outcomes that would not be possible by individual organisations acting alone. We expect all roles at Sunrise to actively support the capacity building of these networks and partner organisations. 

About You

You have experience working on public finance, fiscal policy, or industrial strategy. You understand what it takes to hold the big picture, and translate complicated campaign strategies into actionable steps. You enjoy digging into the policy details, but are able to focus on the key ways to move the campaign forward for maximum impact. You’re able to work with diverse networks of organisations from trade unions to business leaders. You have a strong understanding of the political context which dictates our work and what's possible, but also innovative in thinking through solutions and opportunities to do things differently. You have experience working in Europe. You’re flexible and willing to change course when needed and respond to opportunities, but are able to keep the systemic change we want to achieve in mind. 

Key Responsibilities

• Leads on the development and implementation of high-impact campaign strategies and tactics to achieve our programmatic goals, objectives, and key results, in accordance with our values and JEDI commitments. 

• Sources, builds, and maintains strategic relationships with key partners, facilitating collaborative efforts to co-develop and implement strategies.

• In collaboration with the research team, identifies and develops a plan to fulfill complex research and analysis to inform the development of effective campaign strategies and plans.

• Provides strategic advice to partners and community groups to enhance the strategic impact of their campaigns.

• Ensures alignment between global public finance work and associated projects across the wider Global Finance Program.

• Fosters the development and growth of a well-informed, effective, and powerful network and individuals dedicated to our cause, and contributes to the broader movement's progress.

• Designs and evaluates grant proposals and strategies in collaboration with partners, manages grants and oversees a portfolio of grantees ensuring the delivery of high-impact initiatives to support the movement's impact.

• Drives and facilitates inclusive and transparent strategic decision-making processes, including campaign evaluation and impact reporting.

• Acts as a key influencer, coach, and strategic advisor, and may manage consultants and/or teams with responsibility for the management, development and growth of others.

• Regularly evaluate projects at 3 months, 6 months and annually during the first year and every 6 months after that.

• Aligns programmatic strategies and OKR’s with Sunrise’s Values and mission.

Required skills and experience

• Advanced level campaigning experience in European public finance, industrial strategy, and fiscal policy in a similar role including unpaid, grassroots or lived experience.

• Proven experience researching, building, and incubating new strategies in consultation and coordination with partner organizations.

• Ability to work with the team to execute grants. 

• Ability to successfully manage across cultures, and a track record of creating inclusive work cultures, both internally and with partners.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a very dynamic environment with a high degree of flexibility and agility. 

• A high level of emotional intelligence with excellent interpersonal communication and group facilitation skills.

• A passion for action on climate change and a commitment to social justice, equity, diversity.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience grant making would be beneficial. 

• Experience working fundraising would be an advantage.

The Manna Day Centre is a drop-in Centre for homeless and vulnerably housed single men and women. It is run by a team of project workers, under the Director, who are responsible for its smooth operation. Basic Services offered include food, showers, clothing, housing & welfare advice, medical care, and access to laptops. The Centre opens to service users 7 days a week, 8.30am– 1.30pm. The working week for this post is Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm each day.

The Senior Housing & Welfare Advice Worker must have a commitment to homeless people, which includes acceptance and respect. • Provide strategic leadership, direction and development of all Age UK HHB Services, contributing to organisational strategy and the annual business planning process.

• Line Manage and develop Head of Services, Service Managers and other staff as appropriate, including setting targets and monitoring performance by ensuring that regular supervisions and appraisals are carried out, and tackling any performance issues in line with policies and procedures.

• Ensure Age UK HHB staff and volunteers are provided with up-to-date information sources, including any changes in national and local policy. To ensure services achieve external and internal quality frameworks and best practice guidance and to drive efficient working practices.

• Develop and oversee systems for feedback from service users to ensure the work, ethos and culture of Age UK HHB are informed by older people.

• To ensure quality data is captured for all service delivery allowing us to measure reach and impact for effective performance management, overseeing the provision of monitoring reports and dashboards for funders and board

• To work with the CEO, Managers and Trustees to develop annual budgets and to ensure services and projects are delivered to budget.

• Work closely with external partners and commissioning/funding agencies to ensure that Age UK HHB delivers the range of services that are required and/or contracted, on time and on budget.
