About the Role

As Fundraising Manager, you will work closely with the Director to execute and implement PILC’s fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on trusts and foundations. You’ll be an experienced fundraiser with demonstrable experience in securing significant income from trusts and foundations.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong, strategic pipeline of trust and foundation prospects aligned with organisational priorities and funding needs.
• Grow PILC’s individual donor and supporter base.
• Work closely with the Director and project teams to translate power-building and legal work into clear, compelling funding propositions.
• Manage the full grants cycle, ensuring excellent stewardship and compliance with funder requirements.
• Cultivate new relationships with trusts and foundations and steward relationships with existing funders.
• Secure significant income from trusts and foundations, including multi-year and six-figure grants.
• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with PILC’s Ethical Fundraising Policy and relevant regulations.

The International Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing complex, high-risk financial operations related to our partner's international grantmaking and emergency relief support. This role combines financial leadership with flexibility and responsiveness to needs in volatile contexts, particularly for grassroots movements and activist groups globally - managing overseas financial transactions, handling multi-currency payments, managing exchange rate risks.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Finance Oversight

- Lead all financial processes for international grants: budgeting, transfers, reconciliations, reporting.
- Manage multi-currency payments into high-risk regions; ensure compliance, mitigate fraud/diversion risk.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial systems for expanding global operations.

Humanitarian & Global Finance Expertise

- Use knowledge of international finance especially in difficult contexts (e.g. unincorporated groups, sanctions, restricted jurisdictions) to design processes that satisfy both donors and grassroots partners.
- Monitor emerging risks globally and help shape responses.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

• Significant experience in finance, grantmaking or compliance in international/ humanitarian/ philanthropic settings.
• Experience in managing overseas financial transactions, handling multi-currency payments, managing exchange rate risks etc.
• Experience dealing with high-risk jurisdictions and partners, including unincorporated or grassroots networks.
• Familiarity with due diligence, risk frameworks, KYC/AML, UK charity and banking regulations.

• Arabic (spoken/written) skills preferred

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced and passionate Chief Financial & Operations Officer (CFOO) to join The Lifescape Project, leading the evolution, management and delivery of our financial and operational capacities as the organisation grows.

Our impact as a charity depends on excellent financial management and the efficient provision of supporting operational structures, policies and ways of working. As the organisation grows and diversifies, we need a dedicated Chief Financial and Operations Officer to lead the management and development of these critical functions in close liaison with the CEO. We are excited to be hiring for this role, which will be transformational for the organisation, allowing us to develop our approach to financial and operational matters and support the continued growth of our team and impact. The role will act as second in command and will deputise for the CEO when absent. We are therefore looking for a highly capable and experienced finance and operations leader with the vision to ensure that we continue to grow in a sustainable, effective and efficient way.

We currently have a full-time manager and officer in our Finance and Operations team (F&O Team), which the CFOO will be joining to oversee, develop and guide all relevant functions. With the small size of the team at this time, the CFOO will be expected to jump into the detail in some areas. In the short term this will include delivering some of the more complex areas of the F&O team’s work, such as the audit process, multi-year financial planning and legal compliance, with support from other team members and external advisers as appropriate. If we continue to succeed in delivering our growth strategy, the role will progress over the medium term with increasing team size/supervisory duties and reducing involvement in immediate implementation. Westway CT is a non-profit social enterprise tackling isolation and creating community in West London through the provision of transport services and dedicated drivers offering a lifeline for community groups, older people, and anyone facing challenges using public transport across Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager who, reporting to the CEO, will play a key role in the running of two interconnected entities; a registered society, and its trading arm, which supports and subsidises their charitable aims. In so doing, the successful candidate will be helping to lead the way in a sustainable community benefit model that creates its own income by being part of the wider London transport mix, contributing to the local economy and working towards better air quality.

With line management responsibility of the Finance Officer, you will be an accredited qualified accountant, preferably with non-profit sector experience, with the ability to lead on the financial management of the organisation.

The Finance Manager is accountable for:

The post holder will work as part of the Estate & Facilities and Safety Management team to deliver high standard, customer focused estates and facilities to the organisation. You will lead on all aspects of safety, facilities and estate management at our outdoor learning centre, Hindleap Warren. You will support with facilities (managed onsite by the Director of Finance) but will be responsible for all aspects of safety compliance at our London Office. This role is a blend of strategic and pragmatic thinking to create a great place to work, along with the need to 'roll up sleeves' and ensure our buildings, grounds, and systems of work are safe, compliant, efficient and sustainable. A monthly visit to the London Office will be expected. 

What you will be doing

Estate Strategy 

• Work with the Senior Team and Heads of Centres to develop the strategic direction and objectives to ensure London Youth are following relevant legislation and best practice from all sectors. 
• Create and deliver plans to manage London Youth's assets in a compliant, safe, and best practice manner, as well as rolling out new software to manage this process. 

Facilities Management 

• Lead on delivery of all Facilities Management services, including but not limited to: M&E, fabric, cleaning/housekeeping, bed linen/laundry, car partking, grounds, waste management, pest control and external contractors. Occasionally support may be needed out of normal working hours in emergency situations. 
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive planned preventative maintenance programme, ensuring the satisfactory operation of all buildings, plant and equipment, and ensuring our buildings remain compliant, safe, fit for purpose, and reflect our brand values at all times. 
• Procure and manage services, evaluate contracts and tender processes through a blend of in-house and out-sourced delivery methods, as appropriate, and evaluate value for money. 
• Work with the Director of Centres and Heads of Centres to set the estates, facilities, and health & safety elements of their annual budgets and advising on capital expenditure requirements across all three sites. 

Health & Safety 

• Maintain a health and safety management system at both Hindleap and the London Office, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, including overseeing risk assessments, health & safety policies and procedures, and annual audits. 
• Attend monthly meetings of the Safety and Safeguarding Team, analysing reported accident and incident data. 
• Provide assurance reporting to the Director of Centres and Trustees on a quarterly basis. 

What you bring to the role 

• Experience of delivering safe and effective work on customer-facing premises and grounds.

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues

The role

As Manager of Philanthropic Giving, you will lead myaware’s trusts, foundations and high-value philanthropy fundraising, driving sustainable income growth through a strong and well-managed funding pipeline. You will shape and deliver strategies to secure both restricted and unrestricted income, manage the full bid lifecycle, and build long-term relationships with trusts, statutory funders and high-net-worth individuals.

Working closely with the CEO, senior leadership and trustees, you will develop compelling funding propositions, steward funders through excellent reporting and engagement, and represent myaware at meetings, events and networking opportunities. You will also maintain accurate records through our CRM system, track performance against targets, and contribute to income planning and reporting. This is a strategic and hands-on role with real impact for people affected by myasthenia.

The Manager of Philanthropic Giving will be predominantly home based within the UK (with occasional working and meetings at Derby HQ) and will work in co-operation with the fundraising team and all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising targets and campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required to attend donor meetings, events and networking opportunities, as well as the ability to travel to the Derby office. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated fundraising professional with a strong track record in major donor and Trusts & Foundations fundraising. You will have experience securing significant gifts, building and stewarding long-term funder relationships, and writing compelling funding applications and impact reports.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions.
