As our first Commercial Director, you'll have the autonomy to establish commercial capability from the ground up. Who We're Looking For
You're an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record of generating revenue through partnerships, training programmes, or business development. You might come from membership organisations, professional bodies, charities, education or healthcare settings, or from B2B commercial roles with clear transferable skills.
You have the entrepreneurial confidence to build something new, the strategic thinking to identify opportunities, and the relationship skills to turn those opportunities into sustainable partnerships. You're equally comfortable developing pricing models and financial projections as you are crafting compelling partnership proposals.
Most importantly, you understand that commercial success and charitable purpose aren't opposing forces – they're complementary. You want your commercial expertise to strengthen a charity's capacity to serve its members and achieve its mission.

Play a key role in a pioneering £1m Maudsley funded programme transforming how primary care supports young people. As Research Fellow, you’ll lead research and evaluation activity across four South London boroughs and help build WCC’s growing national evidence and insight function.

Rooted in Lambeth, the Well Centre model has inspired services across South London and beyond. We are now building the research, learning and system infrastructure required to scale this approach nationally. This post is funded by the Maudsley Charity, but the employment contract will be held by Herne Hill Group Practice, the home of the original Well Centre.
About the Role
As Research Fellow, you will lead research and evaluation for the Maudsley programme and contribute to the wider evidence and insight function of WCC. You will use both qualitative and quantitative methods, support digital innovation with KCL, and help ensure that young people’s experiences, outcomes and priorities shape service development.
Your work will inform commissioners, clinicians and system partners working to reduce health inequalities and strengthen support for adolescents across South London and beyond.

About the opportunity
Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and wider Philanthropy Department, the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will identify and cultivate fruitful partnerships with a range of small, medium and large businesses.
They will help maximise the potential of corporate and other organisations for funding, volunteer recruitment, and other philanthropic opportunities, to enable growth and sustainability for Action Tutoring. Jigsaw4u’s Piece of Mind Service helps 11 to 25 year-old young people in SW London overcome depression and/or anxiety. We are seeking 1 full-time counsellor, or 2 part-time counsellors, to support 15 referrals over 3 months, in the London Boroughs of Kingston and Richmond.

- Support the Fundraising & Marketing Officer with stewarding leads and enquiries generated through advertising and outreach.
- Manage community fundraising and challenge event registrations via the MQ website and platforms such as JustGiving.
- Assist with creating engaging marketing and stewardship materials for community and challenge event supporters.
- Contribute to developing new ideas and opportunities that inspire supporters and grow income for mental health research.
Key Activities
- Build and maintain strong, rewarding relationships with MQ fundraisers.
- Work closely with Marketing colleagues to develop compelling content and materials.
- Keep all challenge event listings on the MQ website up to date.
- Respond to social media messages and moderate supporter comments as needed.
- Attend challenge and community events (including some evenings and weekends) to represent MQ and support participants.
- Serve as a key point of contact for third-party event organisers.
- Manage enquiries and registrations from community and challenge event fundraisers.
- Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities with schools, colleges, universities, and wider community groups.
- Keep MQ’s database accurate and up to date, working closely with the Senior Data Officer to ensure correct income coding.
- Arrange and send supporter packs and fundraising materials throughout the supporter journey.
- Provide wider team support as required.
Person Specification
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience of fundraising through challenge events or community fundraising.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and manage a varied supporter portfolio.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate and develop new ideas.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Confident using digital platforms, CRM databases and social media.
- A positive team player who brings energy and initiative.
