Peer support groups are an essential part of South East London Mind services. They differ from other forms of mental health services support as participants play an active role in creating an environment for each other where they can use their shared experiences to give and receive support.
The Southwark Women’s Forum is a monthly peer support group led by and for women aged 18+ who are resident in the London Borough of Southwark and are experiencing low to moderate mental health needs. Trans women are welcome to use this service. There are two different groups and we are currently seeking a skilled female group facilitator, with lived experience of mental ill health, to lead and deliver the second cohort on the penultimate Friday of each month.
We hope to expand this service, and with the help of a lived experience co-facilitator, you will ensure that it is a friendly and comfortable space for new and existing participants who may feel isolated or lack confidence due to their mental health. To keep the service running efficiently, you will also monitor group attendance, distribute and collect feedback forms as required, and assist the women with any signposting needs.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Purpose of the role:
To facilitate training workshops for kinship carers across England, as part of the national training team, through an annual programme of Kinship roadshows and in-person and online workshops.
To contribute to the continual development and improvement of the Kinship training programme by developing new content and refining existing materials in line with insight, data, and feedback from kinship carers.
This role is home-based with frequent travel across England
Key responsibilities include:

Co-facilitate professional, high-quality training to kinship carers in England.
- Experience managing challenging or sensitive situations during training while maintaining clear boundaries, using Kinship's safeguarding framework where necessary.

Ensure training is accessible, inclusive, and adapted to meet the diverse needs of participants.

Meet training KPIs, including participants reporting they feel better supported (90%) and have increased understanding of the subject (80%).

Contribute to the continuous development of training resources using insights, data, and feedback from kinship carers.

Maintain a consistent and engaging approach across all training experiences.

Use Salesforce effectively as the case management system to support training delivery, learning, and evaluation.

Demonstrate confident and frictionless use of Zoom, including breakout rooms and interactive tools, to deliver engaging online training sessions.

Actively support and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience includes:

Substantial experience delivering engaging online and in-person training and workshops for diverse audiences.

Proven experience in professional facilitation using a range of techniques to engage participants.

Demonstrable expertise using Zoom (including breakout rooms and tools) and PowerPoint to deliver high-quality training.

As Neighbourhood - Senior Organiser at Pembroke House you will be someone who is highly skilled and experienced at bringing together diverse groups of people to take collective action on local issues.
You’ll have the ability to blend organising and community-building strategies, knowing that we can’t build power without building community and that community is often built through a common cause.
You’ll be excited to bring your organising and facilitation skills to our existing community programmes, including the Walworth Living Room - a new ‘third space’ for the community, as well as playing a crucial role in developing new partnerships and future areas of our work.
If this job is done well, residents will be growing their skills and capacity to collaborate, groups will be building momentum, and beginning to take action to effect change in the neighbourhood. Pembroke House’s role and approach to supporting neighbourhood change will be further clarified, codified and evidenced.
Person Specification
You’ll be an energetic person who thrives on making new connections and can inspire others to take action. As an experienced facilitator you will be confident facilitating groups and at ease with designing and adapting formal and informal training sessions appropriate to the context.
Your experience MUST include facilitating groups who don’t already hold a common and agreed set of values. So while academic or activist settings may form a significant part of your experience, it is essential to have worked in a mixed community or neighbourhood setting, where you regularly encountered and brought together a range of contrasting viewpoints, which included views substantially different to your own.
A knowledge of community organising methodology (see for example Act Build Change or Citizen’s UK) is useful, but there may also be other approaches or experiences that you could draw on for this role. You will be curious and keen to learn about the history of community organising and community development at Pembroke House, and keen to build on and contribute to the development of that work.

Pembroke House is a centre for social action and residential community in Walworth, South-East London.
We were founded in 1885, by students from Pembroke College, Cambridge, as one of the first settlement houses. Concerned about growing poverty and inequality, the pioneers of the settlement movement sought a new approach: taking up residence to live, work and solve problems alongside local communities.
For 140 years, we’ve been working to bridge traditional divides and unite people – whatever their background or walk of life – in building a better Walworth.

As we are a neighbourhood based organisation we believe it is essential to our work that staff are present in one of our sites in Walworth as much as possible. This role is in person and not suitable for remote or hybrid working.
