Head of Programmes is a key role with significant scope to grow as the charity evolves. You’ll lead on the day-to-day delivery of our programmes, including our largest single programme, Maths Circles: a small-group-based maths enrichment programme engaging talented young mathematicians nationwide. You will coordinate a large community of volunteers as well as our in-house team of part-time and freelance staff to deliver an excellent experience for students, parents, tutors and partners.

A part time cook is required, to provide lunches (main course and dessert) and work alongside a small team to include; two other part time cooks and approximately 12 volunteers. The ability to work independently and with the help of a kitchen assistant volunteer is essential in order to prepare between 10 and 30 meals per day. We are looking for a qualified, experienced cook, with recent experience. You will need to have proof of relevant Food Hygiene training and an understanding of different dietary requirements, as well as allergy legislation and health and safety knowledge relevant to Kitchen work.
You would be expected to assist the manager in planning meals to keep within budgets and to assist with the preparation for special event occasion menus or other ad hoc catering that may be required.

Joining us as a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), your will step into a highly strategic and pivotal role where you will embrace emerging technology and our utilisation of data and insights to enhance our organisational mission. You will have the ability to lead a high-functioning team and an ability to communicate with presence at all times. Previous experience within the charity sector is desirable although not essential.

About The Role
As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications.
This year, we’re building and migrating to a new grants database and you’ll play an integral role on the project team. In addition, you’ll manage an assigned portfolio of grants, and help with all aspects of the funding cycle. You’ll support applicants and funded partners, make funding recommendations, administer grants, provide feedback and support, and visit projects.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Making
- Relationship management for a diverse portfolio of grants within allocated areas or specialisms.

The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF). We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. However, as the number of people living under NRPF continues to grow, we know we will never be able to meet the need for CoCs. Raising awareness of our work also supports our income diversification strategy by building corporate partnerships and individual donations.
In this role, you will be leading The Unity Project’s outreach and communications work in order to increase awareness of the Change of Conditions process and the support The Unity Project can offer to individuals and organisations. Your first priorities will include mapping CoC provision across the country; working with the Director to design and implement a communications strategy to engage applicants, advice organisations, corporate partners and donors; and creating a suite of CoC resources to share online. As you develop in the role, you will deliver outreach and information sessions online and in the community. About the role
It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy.
The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change.
