Join our amazing volunteer team in this flexible opportunity that puts you at the heart of our work supporting blind and partially sighted people. You’ll make taking part in events and carrying out volunteering easier and more enjoyable for our customers and volunteers with sight loss. You’ll take some of the stress and anxiety out of getting around and taking part in activities as a blind or partially sighted person. The help you give will encourage people to do more. What you’ll be doing • Sighted guiding / giving practical help to individuals in and around venues, so they can take part in events. • Supporting volunteers with sight loss with their volunteering activities which range from facilitating a regular community group to delivering a talk about sight loss to a local business. Your role would involve things like guiding; Meeting and greeting at group activities or creating a welcoming and interesting display stand at events. In this role you will only be helping individuals in places open to the public, often in a group setting. We will provide training in sighted guiding techniques and understanding sight loss. Our client the Coroners’ Court Support Service is currently recruiting for two Trustees to join its board. is an independent voluntary organisation whose trained volunteers offer emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending an Inquest at a Coroner’s Court. They are a charity who do not receive central funding, and rely on grants and donations to be able to undertake their work.
The CCSS is now looking to appoint two new Trustees onto it’s board:
Public Relations /Media/Communications/Marketing Trustee – an experienced Marketing & Communications professional who will contribute to strategic discussions and decisions, with a particular focus on all marketing and communications aspects. You will be an expert in marketing or PR/Communications along with sector knowledge in press/media management.
Legal Trustee - A legal expert who can help guide the charity through the legal implications of their options, whilst also ensuring that the CCSS complies with its governing documents, charity law and relevant legislation.
Trustees have a duty to ensure that the charity is well run, solvent, legally compliant, and working towards the charitable purpose for which it was established, and Trustee roles are an important and highly rewarding way to support an award winning organisation. Please note that Trustee roles are unremunerated voluntary positions, although reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet (MiEB) is seeking a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and provide strategic financial oversight as we continue to grow and innovate in mental health support.
About Us
MiEB is a dynamic local mental health charity, proudly affiliated with the national Mind federation but operating independently. Since our merger in 2021, we’ve expanded significantly – supporting over 5,000 people annually and growing our income to £2.19 million in 2023/24.
We are Led by Lived Experience, with over 75% of our staff having personal experience of mental health challenges. Our services span therapy, wellbeing, advocacy, and crisis support, and we are committed to equity, empowerment, and real change.
The Role: Treasurer
As Treasurer, you will play a vital role in ensuring MiEB’s financial health, sustainability, and transparency. You will:
- Guide and advise the Board on financial strategy, budgeting, and risk management
- Chair the Finance & HR Sub-Committee, ensuring robust oversight of financial and operational matters
- Support the Head of Finance and CEO, offering expert insight and challenge on financial planning and reporting
- Ensure compliance with charity and company law, and that financial statements meet statutory and funder requirements
- Champion good governance, transparency, and accountability across the organisation
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with:
- A professional finance qualification or equivalent senior-level financial management experience
- A strong understanding of charity finance and governance
- Experience managing complex budgets and financial reporting
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences
- Experience of chairing meetings and working collaboratively with senior teams
Previous experience as a Treasurer is welcome but not essential – we’ll support you with induction, training, and mentoring.
