We are looking to recruit an Activities Organiser for the Lancaster, Morecambe and District Group. As our local group Activities Organiser you’ll play a crucial role in developing and planning activities and events with your local group. You’ll be responsible for creating and coordinating an annual calendar of events and making sure they’re run safely and effectively to make the most impact. You’ll take a lead role at events on the day and inspire your fellow volunteers to get involved.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication, administration and negotiation skills. 

Time commitment

We estimate this role will need around 2 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

Volunteer Bike Mechanic Wanted – Make a Real Difference!

At GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers), we’re currently lucky to have a fantastic volunteer who runs our bike service, helping provide bikes to asylum seekers in need. Sadly, he’ll be leaving in June to return to university – so we’re looking for someone to take up the baton!

We’re looking for volunteers with bike maintenance experience who can commit to fixing around 4 bikes a week, which will be donated to local asylum seekers to support their mobility and independence.

• Bikes will be provided by our current volunteer mechanic.

• This is a voluntary position and open to local applicants only.

• Unfortunately, this role is not available to GARAS clients.

• Offering complementary therapy on an one to one basis or in small groups to support clients in their individual recovery. Therapy could range from yoga and meditation to reflexology, acupuncture, massage or other activities.

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Smart Works Scotland (SWS) Board of Trustees as Trustee and Treasurer

Our Trustees support all aspects of our work, with the aim of providing strategic support, governance and assurance that enables us to continue to deliver our core service and increase the number of women we can support into work by dressing and coaching women for interview and job success.

As Treasurer, you will work with the Chair and Head of Smart Works Scotland to ensure the charity is well-run and effective, and with Smart Works Charity on key financial activities throughout the financial year.

The Treasurer has oversight of the financial strategy and management of Smart Works Scotland, monitoring the financial health of the charity and ensuring the wider Board are provided with the financial information they need to make well considered decisions. This includes producing monthly management accounts and monitoring monthly income with the Head of Scotland and the relevant staff members.
