Job description

Are you passionate about supporting and transforming the lives of people who are experiencing or recovering from homelessness?

About the role

Hither Green Services (Spring Gardens and Hilda House) is a busy, flagship service which provides you with the opportunity to join a specialised and committed team using a trauma-informed approach, supporting 68, multiple excluded, highly vulnerable adults with complex needs in Lewisham.

At Hither Green Services we are fully committed to supporting our clients in their move on goals, developing independent living skills for the future and receiving effective support while staying with us.

In the role of Client Progression Coordinator, you would work alongside support workers to oversee the clients living at Spring Gardens and Hilda House. This is a great role for someone looking to take the next step in their career, where you will have the opportunity to line manage staff and work with clients with a range of support needs.

About you

To succeed in these highly rewarding role you will:

  • Have experience of communicating, liaising and negotiating effectively with a wide range of people including clients, other staff, and representatives of other agencies such as local authorities and statutory services to build strong partnerships to deliver services
  • Have experience of formally assessing individuals’ needs and options and developing safety and support plans from this information.
  • Have a sound understating of client case management and understanding of the importance of good practice in relation to case work.
  • Experience of inducting, supporting and developing staff, including knowledge of quality and continuous improvement systems, or a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work constructively with and to motivate groups and individuals to maintain team enthusiasm for a high level of contact with clients, given the complex and high level support needs set out in the service referral criteria
  • The ability to work in a fast paced and pressured environment whilst managing multiple service priorities and demands to complete delegated tasks or meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and understanding of the housing and support needs of former rough sleepers people with traumatic histories, and experience of delivering good practice and services to them
  • Wide ranging knowledge of housing pathways and legislation, private rented housing, welfare benefits, move on grants, and other housing-related resources relevant to the client group
