Harrow Churches Housing Association is a social housing provider with stock within the M25, predominantly in Harrow. We are now looking to recruit a scheme manager for our sheltered scheme in Harrow.
If you have experience of the day-to-day management of schemes, and the skills to enable older people to stay independent, join us as a scheme manager. You will be committed to delivering a high-quality service and ideally have experience of working with older people.
What you will be doing:
- Managing all the health & safety compliance within the scheme, including building security and fire checks and inspections of communal areas, so tenants are secure and safe.
- Supporting tenants to maintain their tenancies, dealing with low level anti-social behaviour, rent payments, reporting repairs and helping new tenants settle in
- Supporting social activities and community events
- Working with external agencies to ensure tenants remain independent and have the support they need.
You will be a good communicator and able to form relationships with tenants and other professionals. You will also have excellent time management skills and able to work on your own, finding solutions to problems.
Housing Assistant (12 month contract)
Salary £17,143 for 24 hours per week
Harrow Churches Housing Association is a dynamic and growing social housing provider. We are now looking to recruit a part time Housing Assistant for 12 months to deliver a housing management service to our general needs stock in Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Harlington.
The post holder will be required to drive and attend our small estate in Harlington, to carry out H&S checks and meet with tenants, as required. This will be your office base for 2 days each week.
You will be:
· Supporting the Specialist Portfolio Manager in the day-to-day management of approximately 190 homes.
· Responding to 1st line housing management queries
· Liaising with LAs and colleagues to fill voids
· Managing low level rent arrears
· Report repairs and keep tenants informed of progress and appointments
· Carrying out weekly Health and Safety checks
· Tenancy visits / inspections
· Highly organised, with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to prioritise tasks appropriately.
· have a positive outlook and be able to adjust to variations in workload, ensure targets are completed, be self-motivated and be comfortable working both in a team and on your own
As a Housing Assistant you will report to the Specialist Portfolio Manager and be part of a small team delivering a housing service to the tenants living in general needs housing. You will be committed to delivering a high quality service and, preferably, have experience of working in social housing.

EERC is seeking a Polish-speaking Welfare Adviser to join our team. This role is full time for a fixed term of one year.
This role will provide important support to our clients. The main duties will be:
- Outreach and information to Eastern Europeans in the UK.
- Advice and casework around welfare benefits and housing applications.
The ideal candidate would have some experience in assessing and supporting users to apply for welfare benefits. Please state your experience in this and other advice areas.
EERC is open to appointing a Welfare Assistant, Welfare Adviser, or Senior Welfare Adviser depending on the level of experience and skills. The job description given is for a Welfare Adviser. A Welfare Assistant would have less responsibility and a Senior Adviser would have more responsibility including complex casework and supervision.
This job can be done entirely from our office or in a hybrid between office and work from home. EERC is well set up to facilitate safely seeing clients in the office as well as working remotely.

You will be part of the Changing Futures core team, which is based with Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). GMCA is made up of the 10 Greater Manchester councils and Mayor, who work with other local services, businesses, communities and other partners to improve the city-region. You will utilise your lived experience and insight to help shape change across Greater Manchester for, and with, people experiencing multiple disadvantage and structural inequalities. We will also expect you to connect with local communities and smaller grassroots lived experience led groups who are facing multiple disadvantages and structural inequalities to help amplify their voice. Whilst also shadowing and collaborating with colleagues and influencing where we go next and how we make change happen. We will count on you to work closely with the Changing Futures Involvement & Co-production Manager to shape approaches, champion lived experience involvement and to supporting Shelter, GMCA and the Changing Futures Innovation Areas to understand and respond to the barriers that people experiencing multiple disadvantages are facing.
About you
Empathetic, proactive and organised, you will have a connection with communities and smaller grassroots groups or have lived experience of structural inequalities and want to tackle discrimination and disadvantage that causes injustice and inequality in society. You will also be interested in how we hear from diverse communities, and support them to feel represented, heard and to lead change and want to see change happen across Greater Manchester. Through Changing Futures in Greater Manchester, Shelter is working in partnership with a range of voluntary and community organisations and Local Authorities to ensure lived experience is at the heart of design, delivery and systems change. The GROW team will support you on your traineeship, providing wellbeing and personal and professional development support. There are four exciting opportunities on offer across each of the four innovation areas in Manchester, Wigan, Oldham and Rochdale.
