Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.
The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.
This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. If you have fundraising experience and are keen to join a charity with ambition and an amazing supporter base, then this could be the role for you.
Please note the successful candidate will need to live within the region (Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Gloucestershire), have access to a car and be willing to travel around their region. If you are not currently based in this area, please clarify if you have plans to relocate.

Battersea's Global Programmes Department are looking for a passionate individual to join the team as Grants and Programmes Associate.
The Grants and Programmes Associate will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea, focusing on the UK portfolio. The Associate will work closely with and report to a Grants & Programmes Manager who leads the portfolio. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats.
Over the coming five years, it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.
This is a grants management role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of relationship, grant and project management. The successful postholder should be comfortable working as a team, with considerable scope, and complexity and nurturing relationships with colleagues across the organisation as an integral element of the role. The Associate would support a portfolio led by a Manager who would also be their line manager.

The role
Are you looking for a new challenge? We are currently looking for a driven and self-motivated senior officer for our public health, inclusion and awareness team. This is an exciting time to join as we continue to grow. You will support the development and delivery of the public health, inclusion and awareness team’s work across the UK, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.
Working closely with the public health, inclusion and awareness manager to deliver public health activities as identified in our strategy and team plans and work across the wider directorate and organisation.
Also supporting the delivery of activities to drive forward our equity, diversity and inclusion agenda to ensure we achieve the pledges, recommendations and actions set out in our plans and champion our commitment to celebrate diversity, challenge and address inequality, and help build an inclusive environment for all people affected by breast cancer.
About you
You'll be proactive, highly motivated and have experience in the development and delivery of public health and inclusion initiatives, campaigns and projects. An excellent communicator in building relationships at a local level with external organisations and groups including with those from under-represented communities.
You'll be confident in understanding and explaining equity, diversity and inclusion issues in our public health work clearly and will give presentations as required to community groups and organisations.
You'll also be experienced in monitoring and evaluation of public health activity, including gathering data, producing reports and analysing other statistical information as required.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role is primarily based in our London office. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.
