About the role
We are recruiting a Project & Outreach Manager to help raise the profile and accessibility of NCT Walk & Talk across England supporting volunteers to leverage NCT’s existing local networks and encouraging take up in new areas.
Funded by Sport England, as part of an ambitious programme of change for NCT Walk & Talk, this post will be responsible for increasing the number of walks taking place and the number of new and expectant parents engaging with this service. This is a key role under the ‘More Parents, More Impact pillar of our For Every Parent 2023-28 strategy which will support NCT's focus on tackling health inequalities, enabling parents to create connections and build local, supportive communities.

This is a full-time role but we would be happy to talk about flexible hours for the right candidate so please just let us know in your supporting statement if this is something that you would like us to consider. This role will involve some evening and weekend work and flexibility to attend events.
Working as part of the wider Volunteering Team your great organisation skills will enable you to juggle a busy but rewarding workload. You will be able to prioritise multiple tasks, with excellent attention to detail. A background in working with parents that may be from communities experiencing disadvantages with previous experience of managing volunteers UK wide. You will help by recruiting, supporting, and managing volunteers who deliver NCT Walk & Talk in their local area.
This role is perfect for someone who loves variety in their work where no day is the same. Speaking to volunteers, working with external professionals and stakeholders, thinking creatively, report writing and improving processes are all a big part of this role.

· Agile and able to adapt to changing priorities
· Great at communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
· Experienced in leading projects involving volunteers.
· Able to manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Function as Company Secretary, handling legal requirements and annual reporting
About You

- A strategic thinker who also excels at practical implementation
- Financially astute with proven budget management experience

- Knowledgeable about the mental health sector (desirable)

Founded in 2019, the Poverty Truth Network believes that this can only happen when those most impacted by poverty are at the heart of the movement to end it. Our specific contribution brings together people experiencing poverty with those with responsibilities for alleviating it. “Nothing About Us Without Us Is For Us.”
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are recruiting for a Parliamentary Officer who will develop and coordinate effective links between the Poverty Truth Network and parliamentarians, promoting a relationally-based approach to policy development and legislation.
You will be a highly motivated person with a proven track record of developing and delivering strategies to influence policy and political stakeholders to achieve change, ideally within a parliamentary or government setting.
Key Tasks
- To develop, with appropriate input from the Director and Partnership Manager, the Network’s approach to engaging with parliamentarians (Politics Alongside) in line with its values and practices
- To ensure that Poverty Truth Commissioners are at the heart of the Network’s parliamentary engagement
- To develop and, where appropriate, establish links with UK and devolved Parliaments and governments to promote the work of the Network
- To coordinate and help to deliver parliamentary events on behalf of the Network, including mapping topics and attendees, working with other partners as appropriate
- To support the development of effective links with Combined Authorities and other devolved administrations
- To work closely with members of the Amplify Team to promote its groups proposals for change
- To support parliamentary engagement, including through written briefings, for the Network’s other national programmes, including Economics for All
- To work with the Communications and Learning & Evaluation Officers to promote and identify best practice to governments and parliaments
- To undertake other appropriate duties as requested by the Partnership Manager
This role involves working from home with some travel.
