As Courses Team Leader, you will be working closely with our Courses Coordinators and the wider team to oversee the ongoing development and delivery of this key part of Back Up’s services.You will be need to be creative, well organised and be a supportive line manager with supervisory experience. Most important though is your commitment to supporting those affected by spinal cord injury to thrive.

About the Role

As our Trust and Statutory Fundraiser, you’ll lead our statutory fundraising programme, focusing on government funding and the lottery, while also supporting large trust funding applications. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of funders and overseeing grant management.

• Researching and developing statutory funding sources.

• Crafting compelling cases for support to secure winning bids.

• Building relationships with funders and internal teams.

Flexibility

Our London-based staff operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within London South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays (for full time staff – part-time staff are only required to work one of those days in the office) and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. We would like the HR Lead to work in the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both if preferred) but are flexible as to when in the week the remainder of the hours are worked, provided that there is a consistent working pattern each week.   We have specified the number of days for this role as 3-4, meaning a minimum of three and a maximum of four, depending on what the appointed candidate is able to offer on a consistent basis each week.

About the role

We are looking for a self-driven, highly motivated team player to join our HR department. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this postholder will work closely with the two HR People Partners. The post holder will lead and manage all formal employee relations cases whether it be disciplinaries, grievances or complaints. They will also Project manage and deliver on HR projects including the development of new initiatives and HR policy updates.

Responsibilities

• To lead and manage employee relations activity across the charity by working closely with the key stakeholders.
• To provide guidance and advise senior managers in line with MSSC policies, employment legislation and ACAS Code of Practice regarding complex HR situations.
• To lead and take notes at all MSSC disciplinaries, grievances and formal complaints to support the process. These could include conduct, performance management/capability, absence management. grievances, bullying and harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing etc. 
• Ensure appropriate documentation of cases including file notes, correspondence, accurate meeting minutes etc, ensuring their employee file is kept up to date and organised.
• To provide support to the HR People Partners on broader ER issues, if necessary, such as absence management/OH referrals, performance management/PIPs.
• To support and assist the Director of HR and the team on a range of HR projects and initiatives.
• To develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and guidance documents, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
• Manage the appraisal process including launch communications, monitoring completions and reviewing forms for any ER issues and logging training needs.
• Lead the annual staff survey launch and collation and analysis of data.
• To cover for the Director of HR and other team members as required.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Treasury Specialist to join our Accounting Operations team and help ensure sound controls over the income and balance sheet of the organisation that is focussed on saving the world.

As Treasury Specialist you will focus on accurately recording income, maintaining controls over bank and income control accounts as well as providing our sales ledger function. You will be involved in executing and processing foreign exchange transactions, processing income, updating daily bank reporting and short term cashflow forecasting.  You will support our Treasury Manager to monitor current account and deposit balances and ensure they remain within treasury policy limits too. You will also make sure sufficient funds are available when needed for GBP and foreign currency payments as well as oversee the sales ledger processes. In addition, you will make sure activities comply with our policies and communicate with banks regarding transaction queries. Important will be the ability to contribute with ideas for improvements in Treasury processes.

About the role

As a Children’s Residential Worker, you will directly look after children and young people who have complex emotional and mental health needs due to trauma, loss and other adverse experiences.

You will be required to support children to regulate and understand their emotions. Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our children and young people (aged 12 – 17 years old on admission to the Children’s Home).

You will have a key role in making sure our children are safe and happy. You will also be required to work collaboratively with key professionals to ensure that information is recorded and shared appropriately, as well as to enable children to receive the multi-agency support that they require.

If applying for the Day position, you will be required to do sleep-ins paid at £50 each.
