About The Role 
This role will use all elements of digital communication to put supporters at the heart of our communications work. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role involves overseeing all aspects of digital communications including developing our website, overseeing email communications with supporters, and managing our social media platforms (including paid for social media advertising).

You will need experience in managing all digital channels for a charity or a similar organisation as well as an understanding of the needs of different audiences. But, most importantly, you will have a passion for creating and sharing engaging and relevant content across multiple channels. You will be keen to test new approaches and quickly learn what is working. You will also have a passion for amplifying the voices of the families we work with and a commitment to diversifying the stories we tell and ensuring that voices from minority or marginalised communities are heard.

You will combine the ability to manage the technical side of maintaining websites and social media accounts, with an understanding of the power of the right words and images to communicate our messages.

• Work with the Community Clinical Animal Behaviour and post-adoption support teams in devising the optimal behaviour rehabilitation strategy for dogs in their care while liaising with external veterinary practices as required to support the work of clinical teams.
• Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
• Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
• Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

About you:

With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. An opportunity has arisen to join the central Wildlife Trade team to ensure that good practice and innovation in wildlife trade approaches are effectively integrated and implemented into projects. This is a role based in our UK Headquarters providing technical input and support to our regional programmes, with an initial focus on supporting our projects in the Caribbean and Nicaragua. These projects involve working with local partners to implement interventions based on crime prevention and behaviour change techniques and to build law enforcement capacity.

A team player also able to work on your own initiative, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures. You will enjoy applying your critical thinking to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.

Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.  

As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.

We are working with Pact, who are seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Major Gifts) with a proven track record of success to manage and grow their portfolio of major donors and legacies, to enable them to make a difference to the lives of those affected by criminal justice.

Pact is a successful national charity that provides life changing and lifesaving care for men, women and young people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community and their children, family members and carers. 

In this newly created role, the Senior Manager (Major Gifts) will provide strong stewardship of existing relationships of mid value and major donors, support and cultivate interest in Pact’s programmes and unrestricted giving and take responsibility for identifying and developing new major gifts from individuals and family trusts. In addition, you will strengthen and develop the legacy strategy and offer to existing and new individual supporter. 

This is a senior, strategic role within Pact and you will have 

• A proven track record and specialism in either legacy or major donor giving, and the autonomy to raise funds from individuals, including HNWIs and to lead on this area within a charity.
• Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs and family trusts to secure financial support.
• Strong interpersonal skills, talented at building relationships and trust, and able to inspire long term commitment.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey concepts and inspire a wide range of people through written & verbal channels, with the ability to build a case for support.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and budgeting skills and be capable of writing effective proposals, and reports.  Experience of using Salesforce is desirable but not essential.

Originally the Catholic Prisoners Aid Society, founded in 1898, Pact has a largely Catholic supporter base, with warm and committed relationships with a wide range of Catholic and other Christian stakeholders.  This is a key role for Pact, where you will work closely with other member of the fundraising and extended teams, collaborating with the Head of Faith in Action to cultivate and secure new support from Catholic people motivated by the work of Pact.

We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate an awareness of and interest in, key issues facing prisoners, ex-prisoners and their children and families, and can work effectively within the Catholic community, including the hierarchy, clergy, religious orders, lay community and networks and organisations. 

There is not a requirement of the role that you are Catholic however an empathy with and understanding of Catholic social teaching and ability to relate to people inspired by their faith will be important to the role. 

This role is home based; though you will need to be able to commute into London when required. A basic DBS check is required for this role.

Policy Officer

Base: Sustrans offices, home based or hybrid. Will need to travel to our Bristol hub for team meetings in person once a month. 

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Policy and Public Affairs team, during an election year, delivering a number of vital pieces of research designed to improve walking, wheeling and cycling and transport more broadly.  

As the Policy Officer, you will lead on delivering two key policy projects for Sustrans with support from our Head of Policy and Senior Policy Officer. You will help develop evidence, policy and practice working closely with colleagues to maximise long-term opportunities to help increase transport choice for people. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub with an expectation of a monthly team meeting in Bristol and occasional travel for project related activity. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you 

You should have proven experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative research across a variety of issues and in writing for policy and public audiences.   

We also ask that you are experienced in working autonomously but also as part of a team and with funders, partners and agencies to deliver work.  

You will be skilled in presenting arguments and clearly communicating complex information to a range of audiences in an accessible and persuasive way, in person and in writing.
